I would definitely recommend skipping the loop and just going down the right side of the trail along the river and then going back the same way. The trail basically completely disappears along the top and there's tons of downed trees. If someone hadn't put some orange ties on a few trees we would have never known where to turn right to go to Eagle's Nest. The trail also kind of disappears at the bottom of the gorge near the river so if you don't come from that way it's difficult to find where to go to head back. Outside of that the trail was beautiful!

Words don’t do this hike justice.

One of my favorite unmarked trails. It can be hard and confusing. Would recommend you know exactly where to go. Take a GPS. Easy to get lost. If the rivers up parts of the trail could be covered. Use caution.

Was there a few years ago.Great climb. Going again this year. Does anyone know the height ?

One of my favorite trails.

Stunning arch. Long staircases, but manageable.

Such an easy out and back, a very majestic gem of the area. Much bigger than anticipated and lots of places to explore around the arch.
Easy hike down to Skyview Arch once you get back onto Star Gap trail.
Highly recommended

if you're on the south Oregon coast, you will definitely want to see this.

Not a loop trail,Begins at Koomer Ridge Campground and ends at a junction with Rough Trail. Silvermine Arch is not on this trail as another reviewer posted.

Great easy trail and beautiful views

Love love love this place! This time of year there were hardly anyone, very peaceful.

Very nice hike. Muddy today, but not too hard. The arch is worth the walk.

This is a beautiful trail following along a creek, super easy to do. It was a bit muddy at times, but it wasn't a big deal.

wow, I thought I had seen all the arches , this is a must see!! the little falls past the arch is so beautiful... don't miss this hike!!!

Great arch! Easy to reach the top. A little scary going down to actually see the arch. You have to scramble down a sandstone face to a narrow one foot wide ledge at the edge of a sheer cliff which you follow to the arch. Don’t attempt if you are not sure-footed or if you are afraid of heights.

It was definitely difficult this time of year. Most of the hike was muddy and slick with all the fallen leaves, but the views of red river were amazing!! My second time doing this trail and will definitely do it again.

Nice flat hike at the top. We camped right before you head down until the valley.

The trail was super muddy but it was right along side the creek which is nice. The arch was somewhat underwhelming.

Was a fairly difficult hike with a 40lb pack on my back but was beautiful and worth spending the night. October 2018

Beautiful easy hike. Was muddy but worth it

LOVE! You have to do this! We went and there was nobody there and it was gorgeous :)

Love this trail. If you’re in for the work, then this is your trail. From passing creeks to bridges. To climbing rocks and going up inclines, this trail has it all. Good scenery and plenty of trail to keep a hiker satisfied. Hope you enjoy! Be safe, be cautious, and let’s not forget; be adventurous!

I loved this trail!! Did it as a backpacking trail!!

I ❤️ this trail!

Came here on a Wednesday @2pm. becomes "off road" about 3 miles before the trail head. Unfortunately, my scion xb wouldn't make it to the head (due to "creek" more like puddle) all the way so we parked about a little over a mile before getting to the head. My friend and I didn't mind at all, it made the hike a little longer. The actual hike was beautiful, where good shoes, and take a camera. :)

This is an amazing hike! Do not let the easy start fool you! There is stairs, sketchy half spiral boxy? Stairs. Steep footings down, coming back up I definitely felt more secure! I’m 46 in moderate shape I found it mildly challenging. Other hikers brought children, personally I wouldn’t but be the judge of your children’s abilities. But I highly recommend this because the arch is one of the most beautiful I’ve ever witnessed!

This was my first trail in RRG. Nice intro to what the area has to offer, but probably will want to connect with other trails in the vicinity to get the full experience. There was a really beautiful section overlooking a plateau that looked like a perfect camping spot.
