Excellent hike. Not too long but fairly intense.

Pretty easy going down to the waterfall only about 1.8 miles but on the return it can be a little difficult due to the incline. Plan accordingly.

nice with 4 kids

love to hike this trail with our dogs!

My first hike and it was magical! Me and my 2 friends went past the waterfall to a cave above it and could see the entire valley! I would recommend this to anyone.

Great summer hike in Vegas area

the trail was great not much water but still a great view and great pictures. but like everyone says the last part of the hike is all up hill to get back to your car so defiantly prepare for a work out

I hiked only portions of this, rather than the entire trail because I was deviating to other trails on the same trip. The miles of this trail I hiked had me pass Emerald Pools, which was lovely. I also thought the view was incredible once you pass Emerald Pools, where I was looking down, through the valley.

Nice day hike. Wasn’t much water at the waterfall but did find a garden snake and turtle there.

Not really a hike and personally think the view is SLIGHTLY over rated.

I did this hike with my husband and our labrador. Its a lovely moderate hike. I there are some areas (with the switchbacks) that it is hard to see the trail and pretty rocky, but you will not get lost. The falls are a beautiful spot to rest and enjoy the view.

This hike isn’t hard but it is a little steep in spots. We saw a rattlesnake just 10ft or so from the trailhead so keep an eye out. Crosses the river a few times with very pretty scenery. Sequoias and ferns more dense as the trail goes on. There were a lot of mosquitos, we all had repellent but still left with a few bites.

I did this hike with my almost two year old. I carried her some of the way. Up by the waterfall it gets a little tricky with a little one as I didn’t want her to fall or me fall while helping her. It was a great hike though. I would do it again.

The waterfall itself is currently a trickle ending in a small pool. It’s still pretty. The hike to get to it was lovely, very green, lots of shady trees. Like folks have already mentioned that last half mile back up to the parking lot is rough and exposed. Almost no shade. Be prepared to sweat and get a good thigh workout. Also watch out for the gnats that follow you all the way through the hike. They wouldn’t let up!

Nice little huff if wearing a babe. Would recommend using trekking poles if you’re wearing a kid carrier as there are a lot of loose rocks and can be a little treacherous on the way down.

Breath taking place. So many beautiful sights

The beach is a beautiful crescent, very scenic, and seeing the very small waterfall splashing directly onto the beach is an unusual sight. But on the downside, you can’t actually get down to the beach to see it up close, and it’s incredibly crowded (we went in late July). The view of the beach from the road is actually better than from the trail, because half of the trail was closed off due to instability of cliff face. There is a huge logjam of people at the place where the trail is closed. The walk from trailhead to turnaround is less than 10 min. Don’t even bother with the day use parking, it’s always full. There is ample parking on road, but make sure you don’t cross the white line at side of lane. Two rangers were out giving tickets to any car that was parked over the line. Access the trailhead from the entrance to day use parking. You cross under the road through a short tunnel. Note that there is no cell service in Big Sur so download local maps in advance.

Great exercise. I recommend going in the morning so the switchbacks are in the shade.

Great hike...

Given the heat and lack of rain lately, the waterfalls were more of a faucet left on by accident. Still, would come again because of the hike to the falls. Shaded and beautiful.

As others have said, the first half mile or so from the parking lot, on the paved road, is a doozy. Be prepared to work to get back to your car.

Come early, bring a lot of water and yes, bring bug spray.

We forgot to record the entire drive, but we started at the toll booths in Springdale and went all the way to the eastern edge of the park (one way). One worry I had was would our Volvo with bikes mounted on top be OK to go through the tunnels, and they were. Do keep in mind that the tunnels have a height restriction and bigger vehicles like buses or RVs may need an escort. The escort may cost extra, but otherwise there are no additional charges to go through the tunnel (without escorts). We did not do any hiking, but did stop at a few viewpoints to soak in the scenery, so we were in the park about 3 hours. It was a beautiful day and not too many people. As it had rained earlier in the week (with flash floods and rock slides), we think many may have avoided the park today (July 14). But as all of the roads were open, we had a pleasant drive through. Hope to come back again for some hikes!

It’s not a hike, more like a walk but my goodness is it beautiful and worth the stop!

The first part is a bit difficult on the way back. Other than that it’s a beautiful trail.

We loved this hike. It is definitely worth going to the top to see the caves and a very small waterfall. I think it may be longer then the 2.5 miles posted, more like 5 round trip but I didn't track it.

The walk took us a little over 1 hour. It's rather easy than moderate we think (and we're beginning hikers). The view at the top is not amazing, but overall we liked the hike.

We enjoyed the trail but it started pouring rain on us and thundering so we ended up freezing but we would recommend it. :)

Beautiful trail, easy once you’re off the paved portion, the paved area is very steep so it had a a level of difficulty to the trail in the way back. Lot’s of cottages along the path that make this the enchanted forest. Decent size swimming hole and waterfall at the end. An enjoyable hike. Many trails off this one, not always clear on the descriptions which trail they are referring to.

Great hike. When hiking in the fall be sure to wear a light jacket. The weather on top is delightfully chilly.
