TRAIL IS CLOSED (opens up after Memorial Day).
View to effort ratio was awesome. Great hike with 2 great and very different views. Today it was very wet as the 'third winter' snow was around and melting off the trees onto us. Bring your rain coat!
a bit wet and muddy with low cloud cover. easy hike overall.
A terrific moderate loop & good trail conditions for this time of year. Any mud is avoidable & ice negligible. Some wet slippery rocks heading up to Firescrew; drier come down off Cardigan.
My favorite of Ascutney’s trails. Moderate more than hard most of the way. Small patch of ice and snow towards top.
Beautiful day for a hike. From the summits you can see a the green mountains, the lake region mountains & the white mountains, plus an up-close view of how large mt moosaluke really is. All-in-all its a good hike
4/11 Great hike! No snow or ice anymore, just a ton of mud along the top.
Awesome local trail with off road parking!
Great hike great views but very slippery wet rocks, muddy trail most of the way, large tree down about 3/4 way up.
72 degrees, sunny Trail in excellent shape Recommend spikes past West Peak
April 3. The trails are closed to the summit.
Great “pocket hike” , relatively short, not too difficult, but packed with features and just enough challenge.
great views. the trail is built to assist you. right now the trees are bare so you get a western view the entire hike.
Beautiful hike! A good challenge with rewarding views! The west lookout was even better than the actual summit, in my opinion! Conditions were varied with deep snow in parts, mud, wet rocks, and some stream crossings. Yaktrax and a trekking pole made it much more manageable. 4 hours round trip at a comfortable pace, can imagine it would be quicker in easier conditions. Would love to repeat this in different seasons!
Looks like itll be a great trail when the ice melts. Turned around halfway through because I wasn't comfortable finishing it while hiking solo and my dog was being extremely crazy. Will be back this summer.
Perfect morning on Mount Cube - March 22. Micro spikes all the way to the ledges. Up and down well before noon so mostly hard packed. What a perfect gem in the 52WAV! Did not go to North as their were several junctions at the top and no snow prints to follow. Was happy tagging one more summit today! Great solo hike, and for dogs and kids with a little technical scramble on top ledges.
beautiful day! t-shirt and spikes weather. packed monorail, but saw tons of other's post holes. beginning to become mashed potato texture towards the end in the mid-afternoon. great views! I'd definitely recommend the extra 0.5 mi over to the North peak.
A perfect day to hike. weather amazing. enjoy while it lasts!
Great one of the best in the Upper Valley
