This is my favorite hike so far. I would do this again.

FYI, I would rate this on the harder end of the moderate scale - the climb can get pretty steep for some extended sections. The views are worth it though. Make sure to bring some cash as you do have to pay for parking when you get in to the park.

Did the full loop and it was a beautiful hike. I love how you can take the side trails that branch off the the main legacy trail. Just beware of all the horse poop!

It was a great waterfall and view hiked the whole loop, very easy

We started at the Brandy Creek Trailhead not really knowing much about this trail. The gravel road to the left of the trailhead will take you to the Brandy Creek Falls trail/parking lot, but starting where we started adds roughly 4 miles to your trip & is a beautiful hike! You will eventually come to the road from the trail, turn right & continue up the road until you see the Brandy Creek Trail sign that continues off the road, or choose to hike the road at this point & it will still lead you to the falls parking area! Great hike to take your dog but there are lots of ticks, so make sure to double check when your done :)

Great hike!

weekdays are where it's at. Beautiful hike.

This is a very easy Loop Hike around Burney Falls. The Falls are Majestic! So worth the 9 hour road trip and camping adventure to Burney CA! The 4 stars are for the falls! the trail is easy but a beautiful nature walk! The Falls themselves are a 10!

Great family place to hike with tons of trails to choose from. We loved seeing all the horseback riders. Great for dogs as well.

I can’t rate this trail yet. Do Not Go on weekends or holidays if you don’t have parking reservations! They don’t sell them there and will turn you away. No where else close enough to park to hike.

Great hike with tons of different trails. Great for dogs. Loved seeing all the horses !!!

The fact that ALL access to this hidden gem goes through private property doesn't seem to bother people, but to those of us with homes in Shasta Retreat and SP Railroad (with their legitimate liability and safety concerns), this has become a major problem since the advent of internet. As gorgeous as these falls are, they are not open to the public, which the All Trails description states in clear, simple terms!

No Parking and "No Access to Mossbrae Falls" signs are posted on certain sections of Dunsmuir Ave, at Shasta Retreat's entrance and inside our neighborhood community. Yet the public repeatedly ignores them and reviewers (like Nouvelle Terre or Natalie Lopez) incorrectly advise parking - illegally! - on our narrow, shoulder-less roads.

If the "shoe-were-on-the-other-foot", I doubt these same visitors would want the general public ignoring clearly posted no trespassing signs that bring a daily, endless flow of parked cars into their family's neighborhood! Thus, the reason for only 1 star.

The City of Dunsmuir has been diligently working on plans to build a safer PUBLIC route extending from the Hedge Creek Falls trail. When that happens, this review will be edited to 5++ stars. Until then, PLEASE respect the privacy of Shasta Retreat residents and honor SP Railroad's "No Trespassing" signs by hiking only trails that are OPEN to the public. Thank you!

My cousins and I decided to do this hike today as we had never done it. I saw the falls in a few friends’ Instagram posts so we rallied to do it. My sister brought her 2.5 year old with us. We started along the trail and realized the wagon wasn’t gonna make it so we stashed it behind a tree and trekked on.

The “trail” faded after about a mile. Needless to say, we definitely got lost. Luckily I had the app to guide us along where a trail used to be (there wasn’t a trail). My phone died but we finally made our way back and ultimately did the entire 4+ mike hike.

We never found the waterfall.

Requires parking reservation.

Fun trail to bring the dogs on. Very green and pretty on our spring-like February day hike

such a beautiful hike! We never made it to phantom falls due to really poor markers so we just followed to River down after the first water fall and found one that rivals the size of phantom falls. Pretty easy hike just wear good shoes as there are lots of loose rocks everywhere.

Great hike, especially to do first thing in the morning during the week before too many people are around! The bathrooms were closed but there were portapotties, at least. Make sure you keep track of the trail you want to do because there are a lot of them and it’d be easy to end up on an unexpectedly long hike.

I'm gonna give this a 3 star, one star off because the bathrooms were closed and there was no water, which we brought a lot with us and still ran out about halfway through, and one star off for all the damaged maps. It was a beautiful trail... however we bit off way more than we can chew. We accidently turned our nice moderate hike into 12 miles of hell. We started out on South Legacy then thought this is long, Creekside looks shortest so took that to get back, connected over to North Legacy, had to stop and cry because I ran out of water during the creekside portion and felt like I was dying, then connected back to south legacy for the final stretch... plan where your going!! don't be dumb and get lost like we did!!

Such a variety from rocky to green meadows. My only complaint was it being a little difficult to figure out which way to go as the trail was not marked very well.

Beautiful hike and the trials were clean and easy to navigate.

The trails are well maintained and the views are beautiful. There are so many trails, you can keep coming back and end up somewhere new each time. Great place to hike.

Great hike! The falls are stellar. I went in late September but hope to return another time in the fall when the leaves have changed!

Easy to moderate hiking trails. Well marked. Beautiful park with easy parking. Went during a weekday so didn’t experience having to reserve anything. A few pretty waterfalls.

Love the landscape even in fall. Views were great, very clean and trails were well marked.

Make sure you print out online reservations before going. you can't buy them at the trail.

So many Trail options once you get there. Best maps and signage of any park I’ve seen. You can hike near the water for 7 Miles in a loop.

Great falls. There’s mossbrae and hedge creek. Both spectacular!

Beautiful and easy hike! The Middle Falls were definitely the show stopper. Would recommend to anyone looking for an easy day with amazing views.

Couldn’t hike, now need to make a reservation on weekends.

Went in mid-January as I like to avoid the heat. Saw very few people on the trail. Maybe 2 or 3 other groups. First time raking my dog hiking and he thoroughly enjoyed himself. I am not in shape but there was only one incline that's was difficult for me. This trail was right up my alley. The whole time you're surrounded by moss covered rocks and trees that lent it a very ethereal or old world feel.
only thing was that this trail is very confusing. We were hoping to make it to brandy creek falls and didn't realise that there we two separate trails. We were on the lower half of the trail and didn't realise that if we had driven further up the road we would have cone to the entrance for brandy falls trail. On our way back we ran into a father walking with his two small boys who had the same confusion we did. The lower trail does lead up to the entrance to the falls trail if you wanted to do both though. We'll be returning real soon to make the hike up to the falls.
