The grouse grind redefines swamp ass. It’s just you against yourself in this race against your own heart beat and heavy breathing....and sweat drenched attire. Enjoy!

Did it! A little longer than it took me 5 years ago. But I did it.

Amazing view, and great workout! but bring bug spray and lots of water.

Great little trail! Took me about 1.5 hours return trip. Wear appropriate shoes as there’s plenty of rocks and roots to get snagged on. It was quiet when I went as it was raining lightly - none the less it was very peaceful. Orange markers guide you along the trail.

One of the best hikes!!!

not much gain but you have to focus on the trail. the lake is small but very peaceful place.

Did the grind then this trail. Had difficulty finding the ridge trail after the summit but the summit was beautiful. Great view! On the trail, bugs we're only bad if you stopped. None at the summit.

Great and hard workout. Perfect view from the top!

Fun hike and beautiful look out once you reach quarry rock but I’d put this more as moderate for families as there are a ton of stairs to climb which may not be great for young kids, varied ability or older adults. Can get pretty packed with people in the summer.

Moderately difficult hike. Steep with some easy scrambling required near the top. Going up is easier than coming down due to the many loose rocks, especially in the first third of the trail. Took under an hour and half to hike up to top but a little over an hour and half to descend because concentration on foot placement is needed to avoid slipping. Good workout and doesn’t take too long. Started around 8am on a Sunday morning. No one at the top except myself. Quite a few people going up as I was descending but not as many as you would find on the more popular hikes.

Loved it! All trails tell you to park in residential area but there’s a nice picnic area parking closer to the trail head. Starts out quite easy for the first 4K then gets more difficult but still moderate. It’s about 7k each way to the falls but we recorded 17 after the extra walk to the car. If you want to swim in the falls there’s some tricky rock spots so just be careful overall wonderful hike with gorgeous changing scenery. Note ***Once you reach the small suspension bridge follow the stream up to the falls.

Went on a weekday and it wasn't very crowded. Really likes the woods and the view from the top. Went at a slow pace and didn't find it hard.

Wonderful area to hike! Some parts were steep, but it added to the adventure. Gorgeous trees and river.

definitely a longer hike about 13 miles roundtrip, the 2nd part is quite rocky with somewhat difficult sections. the views of the tree covered mountains and clouds resting on them is quite magnificent, and it's pretty much a rainforest throughout the hike. the waterfall was cool. dog friendly trail. overall was a great day, great workout! it took about 4-5 hrs.

Amazing view and wonderful hike!

This hike will defiently test your cardiovascular system. its steep and rugged terrain of which your constantly gaining elevation. Only 1 good viewpoint which is the lookout. However when I went Vancouver was covered in haze. I did this hike as a prep for golden ears. I would defiently do it again to keep my lungs in check. Took me 2 hrs 20 min up and 1 hr 10 min down.

Basically, there are two trails to this lake. One begins from the Lynn Canyon suspension bridge, the other starts from the Seymour-Capitano filtration plant area. If you wanna sweat a little bit I recommend do it from the suspension bridge route, otherwise, start from the filteration place. Stunning and scenic lake. There are a couple of cycling trails which might be exciting to do

It was easy to hike but the view is stunning ..There are lots of roots just be careful. Some trees have no orange sign and confusing.

Truly a wonderful hike! A bit busy for a Saturday but overall for 17km, you could not beat it!

Great workout! Did it yesterday.

Gorgeous swimming lake (late July). Even in late July we found a patch of snow around the corner. Views down to Vancouver centre.

Did this hike with my son during early summer. Lots of blood thirsty black flies and mosquitoes. Be sure to have good hiking boots as trail is mostly tree roots, rocks, mud, uneven terrain and some snow. But, the reward is the view at the end. Did this in approximately 4 hours including rests and time spent at the viewpoint. If your planning to bring your pet, expect the feet of your dog to be muddy after this hike.
And, watch your every step as a twisted ankle will ruin your day.

Do it for the workout, not the views. This trail cannot be called 'hard' unless you try to get a good time. I'm not in great hiking condition at the moment and I did it in less than an hour.

Trail very well maintained, nice views. I’d say moderate level.

A workout wonderful! A great reward, a great view!

Was a good workout but bring bug spray. Great views at the top.

Mostly dry by now, there is some construction between the trail head and the lake. Watch for your steps, as there are a lot of roots. Bugs can be annoying, bring some spray, The view at the end is spectacular. Great for kids.
