Road to the top was closed so we (my dog and I) hiked to the top. We hiked up the road then up the trail from the visitor's center. Very snowy, icy, and a lot of limbs were down. But we had the place to ourself. Gorgeous!

This was a great hike. I elected to remove my boots and hike up my pants and walk across instead of crossing on the fallen tree. I was happy with my decision when I saw someone fall into the water on my way back. So no the trail isn’t closed, you just have to be creative.

Loved it amazing. I went November with beautiful coloring of leaves and walked the trail then down the steps .

Be aware that while the trail itself is moderate I believe the distance listed is way off. The map and description indicated a round trip distance of 4.8 miles but to get to the actual falls at the cliff it was 4.8 miles one way.

Great views during our December hike, while headed up and down, 360 degrees at the top. My only criticism is too few markings in several locations where trail forks, making AllTrails GPS location checks necessary. Be certain to check your location at the top Bald area, and walk the entire loop indicated on the AllTrails App, including towards the rock-faced area on the Northern side...great views at the edge!

Beautiful falls, said to be the second highest in Georgia. This waterfall, Amicalola and Bearden are said to be "The Three Sisters."
Follows an old ATV trail most of way, then abruptly ending at an old campsite near the falls. After finding the trail, it heads up very steeply over slick rocks and fallen trees. There are orange thumbtacks on trees which help lead the way. Keep going up along the creek but be very careful.

Great weekend of hiking and camping. The trail was hard the weekend I went because of all the rain and slippery rocks and mud.

be prepared to go up alot of steps. beautiful falls . crazy busy

Great views of the creek during the hike. Easy on the kids and dogs

Nice easy hike for a large group of people and 3 dogs.

Love this trail! It’s really great from the East trailhead at lake Yonah damn. It’s a little more difficult and much less traveled!

It was raining when i went. looked like there would have been a great view on a sunny day. I'll definitely go back though when i can see that overlook.

extremely short nicely paved pathway from the parking lot to the top BUT the path goes straight up very challenging will stop a couple times to catch your breath but worth every View at the top

great views on an awesome trail. Near the top are a row of privies provided by Army.

Well maintained trail and highly trafficked. Would be nice for a trail run if not so crowded.

Nice and very easy trail. Brought out German Shepherd and it was perfect for him

We hiked around Tallulah Gorge this morning and were a bit disappointed. Then I found Panther Creek using the All Trails app. Wow! Beautiful hike down to the waterfalls. So much better than Tallulah Gorge. This hike is a must if you are visiting Tallulah Gorge.

We really enjoyed this hike on Nov 20. The bridge being out made the hike even more fun for me and my daughter. We crossed on the smaller fallen tree next to the bridge. Note: if you’re balance-challenged (or just don’t want to fall in 2 feet of water), be sure to grab one or two of the hiking sticks that people leave at the trailhead. They are really helpful to work your way across the log.

Very good hike, and absolutely stunning views. It is well worth making it to the top.

We went the wrong way up by mistake but it was a good choice. Trail is not easy but was fun. The view from the top is a great panoramic one. The view of the falls from the bottom of the steps was the best. Great day.

Took the AT approach trail to walk the steps up. The steps are not for the faint of heart. The views of the falls on the way up are great. And at the top is awesome. Took the East trail on the way back down. Very rocky at the top. Watch your footing so as to not roll an ankle. The trail itself is nice, wooded.

A must if you in the area. Multiple waterfalls and campsites along the route. Well maintained

Nice hike with quite a bit of incline. I struggled to get to the top, definitely had to stop and rest for a couple of minutes about 5 times! Views from the top are stunning!

Excellent for kids. Nice trail for moderately fit people . Trail is easy just a bit of an incline. I did it with a 5 year old and he handled it well.quick movie at top of mountain

Looking up from the parking lot was intimidating, my wife and I joked about doing the winery instead. We are 60+ hikers and don’t give up easily, so up we went, and made it to the top. Apple watch says 5.06 miles, 1542 feet elevation, 3 hours and 19 seconds, including lunch and photo stops. This was a cool November hike, so no wildflowers or leaf colors, but the views were spectacular, well worth the effort.
