Great trail and great views- River was great to get in and walk around in. Lots of gnats however this time of year and they "bugged" the heck out of you until you reached the bridge. A lady got stuck in the mud on the road in so that was great. Overall its a great trail for kids and dogs

One of personal favorite waterfalls in Georgia. I am totally in love with this beauty. A fabulous hike to the fall a great workout of about 7.5 mile. I have visited here quite a few times and ready to be there anytime again.

Awesome trail, we had such a wonderful hike. The weather was perfect. Lots of shade and a wonderful workout! Preachers Rock was a magnificent view, totally worth it!

Had a wonderful hike today with my wife. The falls are so worth the trip. But as others have said boots not shoes. I'm also looking to go back and enjoy some camping along the trail.

The wife and I were on vacation in blue ridge, so we decided to find a waterfall close by. Long curvy roads but a nice a waterfall.

Great little hike. Most of it is easy but about 1/4 mile is uphill. Nice camping spots along the trail!

This was such a fun trail with multiple beautiful overlooks at the top. Most people turn left onto the AT when they make it to the intersection and are met with a steep incline and tons of rocks, but if you curve to the right and continue onto Byron Reese, you will have a slow and much more doable incline. We did this and thought the trail was fairly easy because of it. Wear good shoes and socks! The trail is so rocky.

This was a great family hike today. Easy to find, nice maintained trail. Beautiful view along the way. Beautiful area at lower water fall if you want to hang out for a while. It was getting busier as we were walking out around 11 am. Definitely will do again.

Hiked a total of 3.8 miles so we went just a short way past Preacher's Rock. Not a hard hike at all and I will definitely do it again.

Beautiful narrow trail, a spur off the AT leading to Whitley Shelter. A little overgrown, but well worth the hike. After leaving the AT we didn’t see another soul other than two campers at the shelter. Nice waterhole about .3 mile behind the shelter.

Very nice hike to the waterfall and back out the same way, which is 7 miles and is what most people do, as the part past the waterfall to the other trail head is very steep and difficult. The 7 mile hike that we did to the waterfall and back is along the creek and very fun, with ups and downs and boulders and such to climb around. You can swim at the pool in front of the waterfall, and many people set up hammocks or tents and hang around for the day. Lovely.

Be cautious after rain, muddy steps on steep inclines make this trail dangerous

Nice trail and good view at top. Perfect hike to start back after taking a couple months off.

We love this hike on the AT. Short hike with just enough incline to work up a sweat. Go during the week to avoid the crowds. Amazing view from the top. 5 months pregnant and completed the hike with no issues. Prettier views than Ramrock mountain. No stream crossings. Some switchbacks near the summit. Great place to bring visiting family or friends. Will definitely return.

Some of these reviews were making me nervous to do it, but it ended up being not too bad. To experience the falls from the lower level was amazing and definitely worth scooting on our butts with a 70 lb pit bull. We couldn’t find the part with ropes. Always use caution though, it’s that slick dirt, thank goodness for all the roots and trees. Pictures on my instagram! @mcken__z

Moderate is a good description for this hike. The beginning has some hilly areas with the middle a mostly flat jaunt through the woods. As you near the waterfall, the trail becomes more difficult but it’s worth it!! I love trails that follow the streams so that you can hear the rushing water for the majority of the hike. Beautiful waterfall!!

The Blood Mountain portion was moderate and challenging. Great to see the lodge and the mountains all around. We came down Freeman’s loop - that part was brutal. So many rocks and roots to navigate, but we made it and will do it again. Be sure to bring more water than you think you’ll drink!

Nice trail. Very beautiful, plenty of water splashes, counterclockwise makes for a reasonably easy hike with enough difficulty to be interesting. Mileage will be more than the 3.7 indicated, we logged 5.1 miles from the trailhead, including the approach and a little less than .5 total for the overlook offshoot. We are a bunch of out-of-shape 30 somethings and we managed the whole loop in about 2:45 including a couple of rest stops and photo ops. A few portions of this trail are on very old, disused road beds (probably not used in 50 years or more) which made for nice breaks from the climbs. My only complaint was that the intersection with the Coosa is a little confusing, and is not portrayed well on the official park map.

Great trail! Get there early to avoid the people, gets busy fast. Wonderful waterfalls and an awesome workout. My pup loved it. Some spots were tricky but then again my dog is blind. Totally would do this trail again.

Really cool trail. Very scenic drive in. Beautiful lake. Very nice falls. We got to the 1st falls and thought we were done. Make sure to double back up to the left. Angel falls is actually at the end of the trail. Probably one of my favorite falls so far. Very scenic trail. Would recommend checking this one out.

We tried to take Freeman trail but some guys said we were off trail so we turned around and took the AT trail. Lots of rocks to walk over and climb. Difficult trail but doable. It’s so worth the view at the top. I’ll be doing this again.

Great hike for the entire family. Note the trail head is 75 feet from sign where you park your car; trailhead is marked by large boulders on both sides of trail start. When you reach the river you have to take a hard left in order to reach the waterfall. It is another .3 passing two streams.

Pretty easy hike to Preacher Rock. Good for all skill levels with a rewarding view! Will definitely do it again around fall.

Warning to folks hiking from the east trailhead near Yonah Damn: four large downed trees across the already treacherous part above the creek about .6-.7 miles in. Not passable for most dogs and a workout for humans. Must have been a tornado or microburst because it seemed to be the only part effected.

The AT portion is fairly open but Freeman portion somewhat overgrown. Lots of rocks and fallen trees to climb over on Freeman.

It was a great hike! You definitely need to be in shape because, on the way back it’s rough!!! The waterfall is beautiful

Short trail with good waterfall. Was great for my 9 year old and 2 Jack Russell’s. Watch out for stinging insects, my son was stung twice by hornets.

Lots of roots grown just right for stubbing toes. Some easy rock faces to cross, and some helpful wire guides to keep from falling. The Falls are worth seeing, but the litter is not. I came out on a Tuesday morning in late July and came across a dozen people.

Really beautiful-both the trail and the falls. This is also suitable for most people-less than two round trip-so you can pretty much bring anyone. We carried a couple of light backpacks and picnicked at the falls.
