Easy, quick and beautiful views!

Simply stunning views from the top. Fairly easy hike up. Took us about 20-22 minutes to get to the top. The terrain was a mix of rocks & dirt trail. Highly recommend this if you’re in the area & don’t have time (or the inclination ) for a longer hike.

First hike for wife and I. Great views. Was a little slippery because it rained a little throughout the trip. Good boots, good stick helped a lot. Was about 45 degrees but very comfortable until the top. Got some great photos. We left at 10am and we’re first ones up for the day but saw about 20 people while at top and on the way down.

Easy hike with beautiful views of the halls. Takes about an hour and a half, depending on how often you stop for pictures and resting.

This was my first mountain and it was awesome. We aren't physically fit folks so this was a good challenge for us. It took about 3hrs for us to reach the fire tower. Going up was an unrelenting climb. Glad I had a walking stick and good boots. No bugs which was great. We definitely needed to bring more water as we only brought sports bottles. We had an amazing view without going up in the fire tower (he went up, I stayed firmly planted on the rock). Going down was slightly easier. We ended up taking about 2hrs to get back down to the parking lot. You get a workout climbing over the rocks and such but totally worth the effort!!

The hike was great, I would say the rank of “moderate” is more on the high end of the scale. It is an incline the entire time on terrain including large loose rocks and slabs of slate. Beautiful landscape through out including birch trees, streams and moss. The foliage was almost peak when we went ( Columbus Day weekend). Appropriate hiking footwear is recommended due to the trail being muddy and unstable in spots- the balance and grip of hiking footwear works in your favor! It was foggy and misty when we got to the top, it was like we were up the clouds. In total it took us roughly 3 hours with frequent stops along the way up. Going down is much easier than going up! Tip: bring water and snacks for when you get to the top, you will thank yourself later!

The view was beautiful!

Constant incline but not too steep, we were going at a casual pace so didn't get too winded. A little muddy in some places but view is gorgeous. Not quite peak fall colors yet but we got a tease of it at the summit. In maybe two weeks I imagine it'll be spectacular up here.

Solid incline to the summit. We are in reasonable shape and took our 3 yo pup. It was pretty wet for some mud conditions but it was still worth it. Fantastic view!

Beautiful trail stunning views

Well marked. Started in a sprinkle, then returned in steady rain, some areas muddied up, but not bad. Wish I brought poles, bacon, and paddles, 2 boats and fire pit at pond. Frying pan on tree. Could have had lunch! S-Health says 3.2 miles total.

Not too bad of a hike and didn't take too long. We wanted to do the loop trail on the way down but didn't see markers and ended up in some cool rock caves. Next time we will start the loop from the beginning. Amazing views from the top

Short but incredibly beautiful hike. The falls are amazing...an easy hike for all abilities. The Fall is definitely a great time to visit!

Good hike. Easy enough even for my 7 and 9 year old. Nice views at the top.

I am going to guess that the moderate rating is for the trail around the pond. Up to the pond I would rate the trail as easy. It is a well maintained, gentle path through the woods. If you do go around the pond the northern side is quite rocky and uneven and even a bit of a scramble in parts. This is a lovely hike though and on a Sunday afternoon we were only one of three cars in the parking lot.

Really great view, and a pretty quick hike! Only took us about two hours. If you’re looking for an easier climb, follow the red trail markers when you hit the bridge! They take you towards the “loop trail”. Excited to climb this one again.

Peaceful, easy trail. Amazing water & woodland viewing.

5 stars because of the magnificence of the view for a relatively short trek. I would say moderate to easy depending on your fitness, you are rewarded with an amazing view from the narrows to the south basin. Enjoy!

Very nice bang for the buck with awesome views from the top of Blue Mountain Lake and way beyond looking South, East and West.

Perfectly lovely trail. Get there early for parking lots of people. Nice visit to the top. Went with a two year old German Shepherd and there was no problem at all. Fairly easy all the way.

steep in places, but achievable. Beautiful view of Lake George.

Great view and fun hike. My family took the loop trail up. It is a little longer, but also a lot less steep from what I heard. When we arrived at the top we ran into a lot of other hikers who were complaining about the hike up. The loop is a nice gradual easy walk with a few streams and a view of a small pond. My dog and kids (6 & 8 years old) had no problem and enjoyed the hike. Near the top there is a short break off the trail that leads to a small cave which is fun to check out especially if you have kids with you. We meant to go down on the other trail, but made a wrong turn and ended up back on the loop, so I can’t comment on the steepness or the conditions other than what I heard from other hikers.

This is a quick hike up and down. The tunnels under the highway are pretty cool. When you get to the lookout point at the top continue another 100 yards to get another clearing.

Beautiful views and easy to hike. Definitely worth it!

Fun hike with the family. Certainly a lot of exercise, constant uphill. Cool fire tower, pretty views at the summit. Felt great to have a rest and a snack at the top. But going back down was not fun, lol.

Great hike, great views. It was a little wet when we went. The black flies were insane,a couple shots of deet took care of that. Definitely recommend this hike

pleasant hike. the whole trail is an incline from head to the summit. think climbing stairs. i would not suggest doi g on a rainy day as there are large portions on granite slabs. great 360 views and a fire tower you can climb om the top.
