First hike in the PNW and although it was great to get out... this hikes “work to reward” (views) ratio was lackluster.

This is a gated private property now (Campbell Global). It requires a $250 permit in order to hike, fish, etc.

I went at 10 am on a Friday morning and it was uncomfortably packed. There were at least two scout groups of about ten to fifteen kids, and two adult groups of about ten each later up the trail. Not to mention the numerous single and double hikers. Because of the crowds the hike became unbearably slow and wasn’t tranquil. I guess I am a bit of a curmudgeonly hiker.

Having said the above, Pros: pretty views, lovely foliage, usually nice weather during the summer. Cons: going very slowly due to getting stuck behind so many crowds, listening to lots of other people’s conversations, stopping often to let others pass the opposite direction, difficulty finding parking.

I will say that this is a great hike for children because it has a fun payout for not too much effort. Just be sure to use the bathroom before you get to the trailhead because the bathrooms there are so gross.

I hope you all have a better experience than I did. :-) Happy hiking!

moderate hike worth the view at the top.
hiked it with my kids on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't very busy (must have been a perfect time to go).
5 year old daughter did the trail easy up and back.
8 year old son complained the whole way (but he complains about everything).
spent time by the water after watching some hawks fish, one of them caught one. it was cool.

Nice climb up to a decent view. A popular place! Parking was okay, but the trail and viewpoint was crowded. Lots of dogs which partly made up for the lots of people. Still, a nice, moderate hike not far from the city.

Awesome view good work out!

This hike is easy to moderate there are some steeper switchbacks but it’s not that hard and it’s in the shade. It’s pretty dry up until the last 2-3 miles then it gets more green the higher you go up and it’s very pretty. The view of the lake is amazing. I didn’t swim in it because I fear of dead bodies and sharks in all water lol. If you have a dog bring them because they will love swimming in the water there was two waterfalls and areas of water going on the trail so if your dog is thirsty that is a plus. Rocky in some areas and the tree roots are coming up in some of the trail so watch your step. Did see beat skat that everyone was talking about but saw no bears at all

Very crowded but good bang for your buck - quick out and back that can take less than 2 hours. Great view from the top!

Beautiful view when you get to the top. Definitely worth the hike.

Good hike, Two beautiful lakes. We went there with kids (11 yr, 8 yr, 6 yr). Trail path is wide enough and good. Moderate crowd.

I love this hike, but prefer to do it during the week (early) as it gets very, very busy! I never get tired of the view from the ledge.

Easy trail. Plenty of parking today at 930AM. Variety of hikers. Lots of people (as is the case with the influx of people to Seattle). Outstanding view.

Lovely cruise hike with just the right amount of mystery about which mountain creature you might run into (sadly this bear-hungry Aussie only came up against one mean squirrel but a nice handful of humans coming up the trail while we made our way down).

Not scenic until you reach the top. Good hike and the view at the top is worth it, but there are much better hiking destinations in Washington.

Such a great hike with incredible views at the top!

Decent view, nice hike

HEAVY TRAFFIC!!! A lot of people on this hike and a lot of novice hikers so be cautious, but pretty easy accent couple steep switch backs but all in all took an hour up and an hour down at slow easy pace! Would recommend for dates or just a quick day hike.

Since today was a hot and hazy August day I thought the shade on the trail would be a nice way to stay cool.
Overall, the shady center of the trail was the best part in my opinion. The first part and final parts of the trail are a little steep. I feel like Little Si is more challenging than the views are worth. However it's very well maintained and traveled.

Very beautiful view at the top!❤️

Easy hike with way too many people. The trail was swarming with people at 7:20am on a Wednesday morning.

This was my boyfriend & I’s first hike & it couldn’t have been more perfect. A moderate steep uphill hike to the beautiful breathtaking top! Some parts of the trail is tricky as this is mostly wooded & you are climbing over tree stumps and rocks- but for the most part- easy. The trail is roomy and clean. I TOTALLY recommend swimming in the lake after as it isn’t too crowded. A beautiful day hike and then a refreshing swim in the crystal clear river! Definitely doing this one again. ❤️

Awesome hike but it is very crowded and we hardly found parking spot. We came on Sunday.

Solid hike that was moderately difficult. Take breaks if you need to pace yourself but otherwise this isn’t a very challenging hike for some solid views that make it worthwhile.

Loved the view!

Climbed on a hot day and the shade in the fern forests was great. One of my favorite hikes in Washington.

Awesome hike, Awesome views of the lake. I will definitely come again!

Great hike and awesome views. A bit rocky in places so make sure you have good footwear. Dropping one star because it was so popular and very busy (but, we went at about 1pm). There’s a lake nearby that’s awesome. Again, it’s really busy so get there early because parking fills up fast!

Did this 2 weeks back. Good one.
