This trail is mainly a horse trail. Be aware of this when you go. The trails are narrow so if you're with friends, you'll be going single file. Because it's designed as a horse trail, the view isn't spectacular despite the trail bring near Folsom lake. There are spots where you can exit the trail and head toward the water. We saw a few runners & hikers on the trail but it wasn't super crowded on a Saturday afternoon. The brush on the trail doesn't get trimmed. I wore Capri tights & hiking boots. My son wore shorts & got a little scratched up. I didn't see any signs that said you had to pay for parking. There was a Porta potty in the parking lot.

Great trail. For this out-of-shape old lady it was more than moderate but still doable

I went on a Monday (no reservations required on weekdays!) and there were still plenty of people on the trails. Only downside is the drinking fountains are no longer working. One of my friends planned to fill her water bottle up there only to find that out. Bring water with you!

Weekend was pretty crowded. first full parking at park parking . main street also full. Good for families and children . Ok.

Beautiful scenery but not much of a trail it’s just a road. Also be aware of a much more active wildlife area compared to other trails further west towards auburn. Don’t take the trail alone. Trail head parking will high center small vehicles. I will not go back.

Make reservations on weekends !!!

Great trail, easy enough for kids. My twin 6 year old boys made it all 5 miles in and out. Not much shade so dress light in summer and bring plenty of water. Only saw one other human on the trails.

The round trail shown here is not wheelchair accessible. You could go back on the same route and just get to the bridge that over looks one of the falls

Love our community trail. We use it for our evening walks and when I was running we'd run the dirt and pavement trails.

Nice trail to take. You can walk/jog on the sidewalk path or on the many dirt trails. nice and peaceful.

Nice easy to moderate trail. There was a Mountain lion there today near the second falls so we didn’t go as far as planned. The first Falls was nice, light water, but some. A bit smoky but great trail.

love this trail. At times I feel like I am in a big forest.

This trail has many options of different length hikes. They provide paper maps at the trail head to help navigate though the park.

Trail has many options for all levels of hikers. Many shady portions and great facilities. Make sure to bring plenty of water. The hidden trail leads you to some great overlooks and you can hike down to the trail. Make sure to reserve the day before. $4.00 for half day 6:30am-9:30am / All day $8.00. No cell reception so take screenshots of your confirmation when you reserve. Take a picture of the trail map before you head out.

Great for families.

Gorgeous trails with views of the river. This is a great hike for a hot day because there are so many places to take a quick dip and cool off.

Didn’t get to finish the trail due to lack of time but from what I saw it is quiet and peaceful. Got to the bridge by the golf course and enjoyed the creek under the bridge. I would do this again. :)

I loved this hike, Hiked in to the waterfall felt pretty easy going and I did it 30 weeks pregnant, just made sure to bring lots of water and brought some snacks. You do have to maneuver down the the swimming hole part but it wasn’t too difficult and the water felt great!! Definitely will do this one again!!

Very nice groomed trail, river is nice and able to swim in

The map directions via Apple map had us starting at Wintu trail. From there we hiked to Meiners Loop then went on the Escalator trail and ended up where you could choose to continue to Whiskytown, head up to the summit, take the Terminator trail, Mt Mule trail, or return via Escalator trail. This was our 2nd hike ever and were glad we challenged ourselves. We ended up going 10.08 miles round trip today. We didn’t get in any hurry and met a few other hikers and some on mountain bikes.

I started from the dam and found a very overgrown trail (difficult to follow) that followed Lake Clementine’s edge. Keeping the lake to the left of me and following the shore, I ended up at the end of this trail, then hiked up and out on the trail road and made a huge loop back to the dam.

This was a great hike. 1.5 mile walk from the parking lot to the waterfall. The hike to the falls overlook is easy, very low incline and easy trail head. When you get to the waterfall it is almost a climb to get down to the swimming area, so take that into consideration if you decide to bring your kids or if you have limitations.

I hiked the entire loop around the park and I tracked 8 miles on my Apple Watch. The trail around the park is a dirt road, perfect for mountain biking or horses. I suggest bringing extra water because after the falls there isn’t another spring until you reach the halfway point. The trail around the park is very easy, slight incline and trail thinning towards the end. It’s not too hard if you take is slow and make sure to take breaks in the shade. I will definitely come back and use this park for trail running in the future.

Great and simple trail! I went with a friend, her baby that she carried in a bjorn on her back, her two young daughters that rode their bikes, and Dakota the Dog :-) There is ample parking and it is free. There is a great playground for kids near the parking lot and a very large empty grassy field for dogs to run around on or kids to play soccer. The trail itself is all pavement, but there is a dirt trail that runs parallel with the pavement. The dirt trail is also close to the cool running creek. Everyone on the trail was nice. Dogs all had leashes. I will definitely do this trail again. Great for a running trail!

This place was my very first hike and my wife and I loved it! I’m a beginner and this place had what I needed for a comfortable, worry-free hike (paper maps, maps along the trails and signs everywhere). Hidden Falls was also such a gorgeous place and we hit up Knee Deep Brewing Co (15min drive) afterwards! Will be going back real soon for sure!

Be sure to make reservations for weekends and holidays online! Trails are well marked and maintained. Bring some Tecnu if you’re sensitive to poison oak because it’s everywhere. Bring lots of extra water when it’s hot or avoid the wider, less covered trails.
