its just a path to get to the lighthouse but worth doing. done it with little kids w/o trouble. just take it easy on the way back up the 200+ stairs. worth going down. we did it in the month of March and you can see a lot of whales passing by. its just gorgeous!

Easy, pleasant hikes. Moderate traffic but we went on a warm Saturday. Parking was easy on the nearby neighborhood. My son who’s disabled and has some issues with walking long distances Loved it! There were stairs for the steeper parts and lots of places to stop and rest on benches or tree trunks.

Enjoyed this hike with my two kids (ages 10 and 9). It’s a short, easy trail but with several large rocks to climb and sit on to get a great view of the city. Was moderately trafficked. Found this to be a good hike for both my son with disabilities (who needs assistance with trickier trails) and his brother who is very active and adventurous.

Great hiking trail. My dog loves it too!

Absolutely beautiful! The cave is amazing, too cold right now but looking forward to going back in the warm weather.

Great views!!

Another forgotten trail...

Great hike/climb...we past the first cave over-run with people and followed the trail to a second cave. it was difficult in spots having to climb a bit, but well worth it! there are picnic tables to enjoy your lunch and we encountered the biggest hawk I've ever seen. take care if dipping into this water as there are many crawdads and quiet a bit of trash built up in the cave. Also at the second cave, a huge wasp nest. Overall, great hike!

Great place to overlook the city. Good as a short trip, not too much nature but the views are fantastic.

Great hike for families - the kids loved running up and sliding down the sand dunes. Lots of dogs having fun playing off leash. Beautiful views. Better on a less windy day when the sand isn’t whipping around

Fantastic hike to do with family with a spectacular destination of a CAVE!

Great hike especially for a late spring or early summer morning. Loved playing in the cave and swimming through it. Water is pretty cold year round.

Super easy hike even on the way back which is uphill. Must watch your step due to uneven terrain. The cave is pretty cool and easy to explore. Great family hiking area.

An urban delight. Tons of tourists all the time, but that’s what we get for being in such a beautiful place.

Beautiful scenery with many route options. We ended at 2.5 miles and not the 1.5 listed. We were able to hike down to the beach for easy waking with surrounding dogs.

good sunset view along the beach,so beautiful!some people riding around in there.

In winter time, this trail is very popular for whale watching and only accessible by shuttle bus, $7 pp. Definitely worth to explore: beautiful landscape, dramatic cliffs, long beaches and rolling green hills that are speckled with cows. Once at the parking lot for the visitor center, a small hill awaits. Passing some resident housing and the visitor center, the lighthouse sits on a cliff below. 290 stair steps lead down to it. Volunteers are readily available to share historical details and stories.

I loved the view there just simply amazing!

Beautiful coastal beach trail that's easy and open and there's to see of doggies to see!

Visited in June. A spur of the moment decision when we were driving by and it was very busy. Almost didn't find a spot to park near the start of the walk to the lighthouse. Easy paved trail to the top of the stairs but a lot of narrow stairs to take to get down to the actual light. You have to at least walk to the top where the visitors center is because you can't see the lighthouse just driving by. The stairs were only difficult due to the amount of people going up and down and the wind which was blowing like crazy! However, the view was beautiful and I loved learning the history of the lighthouse and it's keepers.

very pleasant and easy walk! very distracted by all the cute dogs. Don't come here if you want a challenging walk/hike.

Amazing place, you feel like your are at the end of the world. Was the most crowded place I went to in Pt. Reyes but still not too bad at all. The trail is paved and easy to the stairs. There are 308 stairs down to the lighthouse but it wasn't as bad as it seems. Got to see some grey whales on their migration from Alaska to Mexico!!

One of our happy places, especially the leash free beach for the pups.

Great hike with kids. The stairs down to the lighthouse are a bit intense going back up. Beautiful views!

Easily one of the first places I recommend a visit too. Sunsets are fantastic here. Combine with the mosaic tiles stair case to get the most out of this location.

Crowdy. But still worth it
