Started this hike around 3:30pm Saturday December 1st. Hike two hours in and 45 Minutes more in the dark, before I found a flat spot to set up camp. From base to camp (half way) it was a steep pitch incline, however tolerable. I continued hiking around 9:30 am to the summit, at this point it was getting really steep and the path was getting narrow, I decided to ditch my pack an hour in and hike the rest with just my camera and water bottle. I made it to the summit by 11:10. Took a few photos and videos. Then proceeded my way down. Made it back to my car at 2:00pm. On the way down I found it more difficult, really steep so kept wanting to slip, no foot tracking as it did snow over the night. I did this hike alone. It was a good hike but requires lots of energy and endurance.

gorgeous forest trail with lots to identify on route. ladders and switch backs help with elevation gain. some beautiful lunch spots around baby Bedwell. camped at big Bedwell. not many trees to tarp so have fun getting creative! certainly worth hiking onward to Cream Lake too

Beautiful, great stroll but it’s wet and muddy.even with rubber boots it was difficult in spots. I’d like to come back when it’s dry. Worth the spot to stretch the legs .

There was snow on the trail from the trailhead up. It was slippery on parts, but not so much that we had to use our icers. Hiking poles are highly recommended and probably necessary at this time of year! The final scramble up was tough with thigh-high snow, but well worth the trek. Gorgeous panoramic view from the top. This is really a beautiful hike. Took us two hours up and just under two hours down.

An awesome lake!! Lots of stairs but beautiful!! It’s the camp base to many other places !

Spectacular views once you get up towards the peak .. the snow caps looked amazing .. lots of ice on the trail now and cleats or poles are almost a must have to get up high enough .. was challenging without being too difficult but was well worth it .. make the trek if you’re in Jasper, it’s worth it!

Great hike, majestic view. The last part of the hike was gorgeous, so steep you might have to use your hands to climb but definitely manageable with enough patience and courage. It was chilly at the top so definitely made sure you bring enough clothes. The slide down from the top was fun. Highly recommend if you want to see an overview of the lake.

What a brilliant hike. Even in the snow it was peaceful, beautiful, and calm. We took the shortcut that was harder (turn left about 2.5km in, don't worry there's a sign!) and we survived without spikes on our boots or using our poles. That part was harder, but I wouldn't call it difficult. Stunning surroundings, awesome views, and light traffic. Bliss! We ended up bailing and turning back from the ridge as there wasn't an actual trail in the snow. Folks trudged up the mountain in all different directions in turn ripping up the vegetation, so we decided to go back. We took the fire route down which was longer but oh so pleasant. I'd love to come back and do the full route (we did 11 of the 13.5km in about 3.5 hours with tons of breaks) and it was breathtaking. Absolutely worth stopping to catch your breath on the way up only to lose it again with the views!

Amazing trees, easy walk. Wear waterproof shoes- lots of puddles and mud :)

Great little hike ! Awesome scenery ! Met lots of fun people. Took dog she really enjoyed it. Did fine on stairs and steel grate and bridge. If your pups bashful or scared of heights you might have to carry it !

BEAUTIFUL hike!! Steeper than I expected but the views and scenery were well worth it. Took us about 3.5hrs up, with lots of breaks.

I love this trail. lots of beautiful trees and a boardwalk that leads to a beach. worth checking out and wander on the beach !

Great views at the top!!!

Easy short walk ... nice super quiet suspension bridge for free (Capilano was expensive)

Beautiful figure eight loop. Both trails are open. Trail A has some road noise, Trail B is tranquil and quiet. Amazing spider webs on the trees when the sun hits them just right.

Great, easy hike! Very cool boardwalk leads you through the green Forrest floor. Super easy and short.

Nice hike! The wide gravel path up was nice, great view looking back. You have the option to cut up and take the trail in the trees, would definitely make it a bit harder(I would definitely take the fire road on the way up). We took the trail route on the way down for a change of scenery. Took my partner and I about an hour and a bit up. Pretty fast coming down. If your going at a steady pace wouldn’t take longer than 2.5 hrs, with a fair break at the top.

Short, easy trail. Everytime someone comes to visit me in Port I take them here. The trees are ridiculously huge! Very well maintained and taken path.

Rain forest in Canada

Best hike in Jasper. Nice views all along the way to the top. Be sure to go to the far back of the trail and climb to that top. Far best view of all!

Tackled this hike in the afternoon after doing a boat trip to Spirit Island. There’s a parking lot close to the trailhead (it’s on the left, past the big lot for the boat tours). The trail starts off in a forested area with a steady incline - it’s not super interesting until you get high enough for some views. As you climb higher, look behind you every once in a while.

The views get better as you get further up the trail. It was pretty busy, but everyone was polite and it didn’t feel as crowded as the hikes around Banff. The last portion was very steep and a bit slick/muddy, but we opted to go straight up. There was a mellower trail off to the left.

The views from the top are phenomenal - I’d recommend packing a lunch to eat up there.

The best part was that we saw a grizzly bear and three cubs off the trail! While it was very exciting, people traveling in smaller groups should exercise caution in this area.

Absolutely beautiful! Went with a group of 7 women. They ask you to hike in groups of at least four people for safety. First little bit is tough but eventually you get into the valley and up into the meadows for beautiful views! Make sure you look for the mountain top toilet and keep walking past where the end of the trail marker is. We saw one grizzly from across the valley who was curious about our presence but kept on doing what he was doing.

Not strenuous, but an absolute stunner. Combination on old cedar forest, stream valleys and the finale at schooner cove beach. All in 2km roundtrip.

A friend and myself started this Hike at about 3 o’clock, the sun went down at about 8 o’clock, we got down at about 9 o’clock. It was a very fun hike but it was harder than I expected when reading a couple of websites. This is a dog friendly hike and a hike I will definitely do again.

Excellent hike! Well worth the work out

Wonderful rainforest, only drawback is the traffic noise pollution along some parts of the trail, due to the proximity to Highway 4.

Massive 600-800 year old trees. Maybe 400 people in the tiny park, though. Always someone in front and in back of you. (Seemed like the smoke kept folks inside for the past few days and clear sky brought them out. )

I did notice a great diversity of people-- from kids, to handicapped to international folks.

Excellent hike with great views, there are a few different peaks that you can climb to the top but I only was able to complete one of them before heading back. Can't wait to do it again and get on top of the other few. I took the shortcut that was harder, but still not that bad overall even for my first hike. I went early in the morning so it was great to basically have the entire place to myself!
