Trail was beautiful had rained a little earlier in the day and sunfish pond looked amazing. crossing the streams can get you wet but if you don’t mind It it is a great experience.

Did the loop counter clockwise which is the way I would recommend doing it. Up Dunnfield Creek and down the AT. Did it in 3 hours. There is many creek crossing on the way up but humans managed to keep shoes dry by crossing on logs. Dunnfield side is much more steep and rocky than AT side. Also did not go around the pond

Great view at the end of the blue dot trail. Worth going all the way to the top and seeing. Very busy trail lots of people from the city, I heard probably about three different languages on the way up and down most people from the city or metro area or whatever, are loud. These people should probably stay where they're from.

Walking

Great Views. Only enough parking for half a dozen cars or so, but there was no one else here when I went around 1 on a Saturday. Decently marked trails and where it isn't marked are obvious footpaths. Basically cliffs where the overlooks are so be careful around the edges.

It was better today. Can’t wait to hike the trail again in summer.

HikingGreat!RockyScramble

The description in All trails is misleading. If you go out and back on the blue trail, it’s somewhat steep but moderate. Adding the red trail is what makes this “hard”. If you do the loop, I agree with all those who recommend ascending with the Red trail and descending on the Blue/Green. The Red trail has some scrambles that aren’t that hard going up, but might be tough going down. Otherwise, this is an awesome trail for New Jersey with scenic views from the top, optional rock scrambling and a beautiful waterfall and creek.

This is a great hike for all. Some is up hill but isn’t to challenging for all. Beautiful scenery in the fall. The mountains overlook the river towards easton PA. We have been going to ice cave over 30 yrs. history we were told was it was an old iron ore mine back in the 20s. The county has made several new walking paths all over marble hill there. Excellent day trip

HikingMuddy

I hiked all of the blazed trails today. My advice is just to do the blue blazes as an out and back. There are no scrambles to be found anywhere, but there are a number of boulder fields. The orange blaze was nothing but trudging through marsh. The red and yellow trails were missing blazes and were drainage routes for the area. They were muddy despite 6 days without rain. Be sure to have a charge on your phone if you do these trails.

Great hike to the cave/mine! Perfect under 2 mile hike for my 4 year old and packed my 1 year old! Easily labeled trails. Pay attention to the sign at the trail head and the directions as well as the marking signs. Too warm for the ice but may son had a blast exploring the cave for gold!

Perfect length and level of difficulty for an casual afternoon hike. Nice views, well marked trails, lots of rocky terrain was a bit tiresome after awhile. Good up & down loop.

HikingGreat!

4/3/2021. R. Loved the rocky up to the tower and back down. The “steps” down (counter clockwise) are for tall people; us shorter people have to sit and slide or if we did the loop clockwise we would have needed a hand or a butt push to get up the rocks. Dang...It was an adventure though for our group of sexagenarians.
