I liked nice view and very quiet, easy to find parking

My favorite place to get a quick hike in. But it is definitely not 5.8 miles, this info should be corrected. 3 miles round trip if you hike from the bottom parking lot and maybe 1 mile if you hike from the top parking lot. Too crowded on the weekends and a bit dangerous with young children and narrow trails. I also wouldn’t call it easy if starting from the bottom, moderate compared to Eaton or Sturtevant Falls.

this was more of a walk than a hike very flat and pretty much asphalt all the way around and the fence didn't help the view at all but we still had a good time

Moderate to hard hike. I went on a foggy day so there wasn’t much of a view at the top but it was peaceful. Would not recommend this on a hot day but I bet the views are amazing on a clear day.

I've been on this trial many times and never found any trouble, yes there are animals but you are in there environment, the only thing that is a lil surprising is that the app does not show MTN biking on here.

if I'm not hiking in the canyons, im here waking from Santa Monica Pier to Venice Pier. I live in Venice and never get tired of a fresh beach stroll

More of a walk through a neighborhood instead of a hike.

muy bien

I see new things each time I come here

I'm giving this hike five stars even though it's short we saw bears and a great double waterfall and plenty of shade I highly recommend it and a lot of really friendly people

There's something that gets me about this walk. Whether it be nostalgia or the people or the views, I always come back to think of this walk. A truly iconic walk if you have never made it from Santa Monica to Venice beach. There's always something new to see and each experience is different from the last. I could spend a whole day and not be able to finish all that this legendary beach strip has to offer. It only leaves me wanting to come back

This was an okay hike, if you take the trail counter clockwise you have a steady climb and can dip into Discovery Well Park to add a few more yards. On a Saturday morning this area is jam packed full of people (as expected). I feel as though this would be better for running than backpacking and though I gave it 3 stars I will return with running in mind.

The map given does not account for the switch back trails you can use on the ocean facing side of the hill. There are really nice views and this hike can take you in a few different directions and slight elevation changes. If you have time, follow a different path with the trail markers. It's hard to get lost. It's not a huge area. Remember where you parked and head in that general direction when you want to get back. Trails go from paved, to decomposed granite, to sidewalks in neighborhoods, back to trails. It just depends on what you are in the mood for, and what kind of time you have. It's a peaceful hike/jog. I take my dog all the time. Allowed on leash, and pick up after them. Doggie poo bag stations can be found at intervals if you forgot your own.

The views were amazing! However, it was extremely hard to identify where to continue on the trail despite referring to the map on the app. After a few minutes I was just over it.

Super easy trail - very busy - you're not going to run this unless you get there before everyone else -

Encountered not one, but TWO bears on this hike with my friend and pitbull! Was very scary. Never hiking here again, considering I had been here and skipped out on the hike a few days ago while with family and nephew at 3 years old. A woman down towards the parking lot mentioned a mom and baby bear around lately and said we were "VERY LUCKY" to get away from those bears without being chased down. Not safe. Beautiful scenery but not worth the scare.

Short walk by the lagoon to the beach. Nice tide pools and lots of birds

If you start in Santa Monica be sure to finish in Venice you won't regret it. This is a must see for anyone in L.A. especially if it's their first time in the area.

Great Hike! I would say it's hard and not moderate. Very steep incline and trail running or hiking boots are a must. there's benches 1 mile up. Went on a Friday evening around 6:00pm and only encountered 5 other hikers.

This was from the El Vago entrance of the Cross Town Trail.

Too steep. An hour and 10 minutes up, 40 minutes down. I’d rate this hard versus moderate based on the grade alone. I fell twice on the way down. My girlfriend is a beginner and would have killed me if I took her on this.

Awesome urban trail. Love it!

It’s very beautiful. Went with my kids and they had a great time.

Moderately high with a 35 degree incline on med lose gravel with minimum shade and one sitting area with 2 picnic tables. If forecast is sunny better beat the heat of the day and protection from the sun. Make sure to take good traction shoes for the trail, trail varies from two to one person wide. Few hikers n bikers. Nice views when LA is not hazy. At the top, Tepee area, it has no shade or sitting area n has two other trails to explore. Trail can use updated markers , one trail will lead you away if not familiar, others just merge into each other to go the top. This from a Chicago Il, hiker.
