Meh. Its a pieced together city walk that goes through alot of peoples disheveled backyards. Two stars because it is a trail that goes along waterford river, and I didnt get mugged.

Great views of the city. Get ready for some stairs.. lots of stairs ;)

Amazing trail with some amazing views along the way!

Yes it goes by a dump - the contrast really makes you think of how we interact with nature.

This shit trash

You’re better off the go out & back from Bay Bulls - it’ll be approximately 25.4km (12.7km to the Spout) in total but it’s far more scenic!

Hiked up from Quidi Vidi to the top and back down. beautiful scenery and lots of leg burn . Lots of stairs and some rugged trail sections. Great Hike.

We started in Logy Bay with a 15 min cab ride from St John's. The Beginning of the 8.9 km hike is absolutely beautiful with stunning views of the Bay. There were also lots of ripe blueberries to pick along the way. It is unfortunate that the hike goes past an area where plastic bags from the municipal dump have caught in many of the trees. This is a very small part of the hike and you cannot see the actual dump or smell it. But it is distressing to see the waste that we produce when we take plastic bags from stores. The trail is well marked and relatively easy. The hike ends in Quidi Vidi where there is a good microbrewery. We stopped in there for a drink and some live music at the end of the hike. We then continued on up Signal Hill and around the back of it on the Red Trail to make our way back to Saint John's.

Easy trail with fantastic views. The babbling brook near the end of the first half made us turn around early. Hiking poles for that section would have helped us.

Hiked the Trail on Sept 1st 2018. Great hike with amazing views. Lots of stairs, many of them newly installed. Great work done during the shut down. Take your time and enjoy the great views of St. John's Harbor and the Rugged Newfoundland Coast line into the Atlantic Ocean. Some seating areas provided to just sit and soak it in. Take the hike and enjoy it.

The hike is really nice to the first peak about 1.5km then it seems rather boring we didnt go further than half way before going back. The start of the trail is near the Quidi Vidi brewery a nice spot to finish with a beer! The first peak has amazing views really worth the climb!

Beautiful trail. Stunning scenery. Well worth the effort.

According to Parks Canada site, this trail has been re-opened as of Aug. 1st, 2018

Easy coastal Trail. Good views. Well maintained.

Hiked this trail today on the 200th anniversary of Regatta Day. Very unseasonably warm 85 degree day.

Good trail, bordering on hard rating on a humid day. Decent amount of elevation change and in-forest walking.

Not a bad hike. I would say it’s in between easy and intermediate, skill level wise. Some parts are flat, soft ground. And others require navigating rocks and hilly terrain. The trail starts off in a tree covered area but opens up after about 15 minutes of walking, with few places of shade. A few vantage points provide nice photographic opportunities. Bring bug spray and water.

Amazing hike. Minor challenges. Must be able to hold on to chain drilled into rockface to pass parts of tail. Worth the views!

Great views, half in the hot sun and half in the rain and wind. Welcome to nfld!

We saw an eagle nest with a young bird. We also enjoyed the view all along our ascension. Nice path to discover St-John

Didn’t have time to do the entire length but went approx 1/2 way. Absolutely delightful.
Not always well marked, but you can find your way.
A lot of climbing involved so make sure to wear good footwear.

A lovely moderate level hike. Varying topography from scrambling over exposed granite rock faces, to through a forest tunnel to along the edge of a bay plunging down to the water. Simply lovely.
