Beautiful view! Great hike!

Stunning views from the summit. Very cool variety of terrain on the way there! Only negative is that certain areas flood quite heavily so you have to trudge through water and mud. Rather than soak our socks we went barefoot through the water so if you encounter that I recommend the same!

Great trail for the whole family and dog friendly. Some moderate terrain to keep it interesting. Great scenery!

Gonna be honest: in the end I loved this hike. But at first, it was VERY difficult to find the correct trail and I wasted about an hour along with another group trying to find the correct way to High Point. I’m sure it’s easier to find outside of fall, but with leaves covering EVERY path, it’s super hard to determine what’s actually a trail and what isn’t. I would recommend just walking up Snake Den rd until you get to the trail head which is an Info Stand (not the one in the parking lot). The actual hike can be treacherous if you aren’t skilled at climbing over rocks and definitely wear good shoes or you’ll have a rolled and/or broken ankle in no time (especially on slippery leaves or mud)

Very nice trails, views & fellow hikers.

Always a joy!

Only did a small section to start. Beautiful, relatively quiet. looking forward to going back. Will bring my walking poles next time.

great hike during the fall during the leave change, second time I did this trail. first time was in the snow just as pretty but a bit more challenging

11/2/18. South Mountain Reservation is almost in my back yard and I've hiked it very, very often, I had not however (until introduced to it by All Trails) ever hiked this particular combination. An easy 4.5 mile hike that can be done in approx 1.5 hours — one feels like a Parisien Boulevardier on 10' wide trails for most of the hike (with the exception of the Lenape trail which is narrower and twistier). Fall colors make it feel like a sepia photograph. As others have noted though, with the exception of the Lenape trail (yellow), it is VERY poorly marked and I don't recommend doing this without the GPS on in the All Trails app.

It was a great workout, with an awesome view at the end, there were a bunch of hawks flying level with us at the vista, pretty cool, be careful on the descent, seemed harder than going up, but overall, would recommend it to anyone

best trails in the area. we did an 8 mile hike today. nothing to changing but good exercise

not really a trail but for NYC again not a bad trail

Reasonably well maintained trails but poorly marked for sure. Keep a close eye on you map during this hike or you’ll end up off trail pretty easily. Trail offers some nice foliage and a couple of nice views at the end, but really mostly just forest the whole way.

We hiked this trail on Sat October 20th and it was a nice leisurely hike that started at the police station and we did the 6.2 mile loop. This trail starts out in the woods near the highway but after a mile or so your deep enough where you do see or hear an traffic. There are some amazing views/lookout points on the top side with the first one having a small waterfall. We happen to see a hawk and also a deer this day which is always an added bonus. There was a little castle you run into (women’s heritage trial) that was super cool. You then make your way down and walk along the shoreline for several miles and it was a nice day so we decided to relax and bring our lunch. Anyway this trail was super easy and not difficult at any point.

I cannot stress enough how much I loved this hike, it was spectacular! I would recommend going around the map counter clockwise, climbing to the Women’s Federation Monument on top of the cliffs, and then going back down the way you came along the Shore Trail (white). The Long Path trail is right next to the parkway and you can’t really see the river through the trees anyway. But the Shore Trail was amazing, and the view at the top of the cliffs was incredible. I will definitely be coming back, and recommending this hike to everyone I know!

trails are marked but no signage at cross trails to make sure you’re moving towards your starting point.

Nice trail to kill a few hours at. Tripod Rock is always a cool little spot and there are a few views but they’re not particularly impressive. Some nice uphill hiking and the trail on the side of the reservoir are super refreshing.

I love reading people's reviews on what they see in the woods. It is the woods so you may see bear, snakes, deer, raccoons etc. You may even get bitten by bugs as well. Expect it, be prepared or just stay home. Anyway i was hesitant to do this hike because of the lame views but decided anyway because its not far from home. The views are very lame in fact. Lucy's overlook has too many trees in the front of it and the high tension wires at other vistas take away from the charm. At 4 or more miles much better vistas can be found at a shorter distance near by at other trails. Just my opinion of Pyramid Mountain is don't understand all the hype.

Great family hike!! 5 miles
Well marked, Wear boots, Very muddy! After a little rain.
Red stripe trail is a 100ft walk down a rocky trail. Walking sticks will come handy.

An ok trail there was not much of a scenery just a long trail walk. The trail marks need to be more clear we had to stop a couple of times trying to figure out where the marks are.

It's probably a nice hike...but AVOID if it recently rained. Drove out here to do the trail and after several go-arounds to get past flooded area, I finally couldn't find a way around one 30 min in. Had to turn back, disappointed. The routes around the flooded areas wouldn't be too bad except there appears to be poison ivy.

This Park is so nice,You can expend hours of pure Nature Contact. Big Trees, creeks, nice trails, well marked. overall You will enjoy your visit.

Love it. Lots of choices, all abilities, Beautiful, serene. Dog and bike friendly.

I love this trail. It follows the stream to a beautiful waterfall. After the waterfall it follows the stream up to the second lake than u can take the trail around the lake. Haven’t finished the entire trail , but I plan on it very soon. What a great trail

This trail hike, I will definitely recommend . We Started out with great weather 70 degree weather in November... Came upon some wildlife animals, Small creeks the River and more.
The only downfall is The trail Direction is not marked out clear enough...Needs improvemet
I love it

Overall good hike but it does cross through a swap which gets muddy after a rainy day.

Well marked. Easy and moderate trails. Alongside the lake. Not too isolated or crowded.

Had a great time! The trails are blazed well & the reserve is in great condition. Only compliant is that some of the trails are close to people’s backyards; perimeter of the park is close to private property. Overall watch out for frogs & chipmunks!

Nice hike except you can hear the traffic on Rt 287 the entire time.

To find trail head- park across the street from the State Police station. Often Info on where the exact trail is, is not provided. When you are looking at the building the trail head is on the far left of employee parking lot - you will see a sign. As mentioned in another comment below, unless you are looking for strenuous uphill cardio take the trail clockwise by taking this entrance. Use All Trails carefully there are a few tricky turns but very well worth it. Hike starts out flat, and yes parkway noise but you soon head away and down. Beautiful trail w a few waterfalls and pretty well maintained.
