I love how it connected to the Day Pond Trail!

Excellent trail, very well maintained. I would say it’s on the low end of moderate difficulty. Definitely longer than 5.4 miles, think it was closer to 7.5 miles.

Nice easy trail for my 2-year-old and 4-year-old.

Beautiful place to take a long hike

Good walking trail. Only thing I don't like about it is, that you can not bring your dogs.

This was a good hike. Lots of up hills. It was just over 7 miles, so I don't know where the 5.4 mile statement came from. A little off the regular path there is a beautiful cascading waterfall. It is small, but still very pretty. The trail is clearly marked and is easy to follow. Will be pretty in a few weeks with the changing of the leaves.

My favorite place to go with my girlfriend to just get away and relax.

I wish I could give this a 3.5 stars. It's nice, not great, no outstanding features but the fern beds everywhere are nice. You're also very unlikely to see anyone else while you're out there.

Well marked trail. Short inclines. I did the loop, parking at Salmon River State Forest (next to day pond state park). Nice trail. Next time I'll find the covered bridge to complete the whole trail. Overall, I did 3 miles of it (the loop).

I started at the Comstock covered bridge and hiked to the Day Pond Loop. I completed the south loop and then the north loop, stopping for a water break at the Day Pond State Park between the two. Very beautiful spot and midway point. I also took a short trail off of the north loop which led to the Day Pond Falls, a very beautiful waterfall worth the half mile hike down and back to the loop trail. It is important to rate the entire seven mile hike as hard. Completing sections can be considered moderate depending on length. The hike took my dog and I three hours with almost no stopping. The majority of the trail is tree covered and you are only in direct sun when crossing the power lines briefly on the north loop. Well marked with blue blaze. The beginning of the trail by the Comstock covered bridge goes along the Salmon Ride before climbing up to a view of the river and then turning away from the river to head towards Day Pond. Plenty of parking at both the Comstock bridge and Day Pond state park. The Comstock bridge has beautiful wooden gates that make for a lovely photo silhouette. Overall an awesome workout!

It was a beautiful place, very quiet, huge and plenty of trails to choose from. I suggest taking a trail map with you, we chose the orange and blue trail which was nice but there were forks in the path that were not marked so it got a little confusing. Very buggy so bring bug spray, the nature aspect was awesome, feels like you are in the middle of nowhere, plan on paying to get into the state park, $9 for CT residents.

Amazing swimming holes and I always can find a private spot

Beautiful views, pretty easy trail.

Clean greenway, can be used from Dawn to Dusk all year. Secluded at places, but has been safe/ no issues noted. I have been using the path the last 4 years and Love it! Great for kids learning to bike/ roller skate and independent walking/ running.

beautiful area for a park of its size. great over looks and quite a few trails to explore. very serene park.

Went in early winter, beautiful! The rocks on the trail can get a bit slippery. Definitely coming back in the warmer months.

a beautiful day with my dog :) a little muddy and a little bit of water to cross . I'm glad some of it was frozen

Amazing felt like I wasn't even in CT! Worth veering off the path.
