This trail was very challenging. Took me 3 hours to get to the top. At the top was a canister with a notebook filled with names of people who did the trail. Definitely will do this trail again.

Fantastic hike during the winter months. A little bit of everything. Great views, rock climb, and then a winter trail through the woods. Not to hard for the average Joe

It takes some leg work and much climbing. Overall good hike!

this is the easiest over 10,000 feet in the Tahoe areai have done 4 others that are harder

The elevation gain when you’re starting so high up unexpectedly kicked my butt, made the switchbacks a bit more uncomfortable since it added strain to monotony, but the end of the trail was quite worth it. I did this back in July, and despite the cooler weather up in Mt Charleston, laying on the rocks was amazing. The water was little but so ice cold, it was wonderful. Beautiful scenes

Great hike,

Beautiful hike but more amazing in the snow. looks like a winter wonderland.

Great hike, very scenic. Not too challenging. The falls at the top are beautiful.

on Calico Tanks Trail

This is a fine hike, nothing spectacular, except for the view near the end of the trail. OK for families with kids.

Ran this trail a couple of times. It's a bit grueling but worth the downhill.:)

Beautiful views at the top. Not very difficult if you use common sense.

A great trail that has a view making it worth it. in the early spring you might see some water in the tank itself.

Great hike. First mile or so is slightly difficult. Took us 3.5hrs with probably 30 minutes of breaks included.

Beautiful hike. Moderate hike even with snow early on the morning. Terrain became a little more difficult as sun came up and the snow turned to mud and ice. Waterfall is currently partially frozen but beautiful. Cannot wait to go back in the Spring.

A nice hike with wonderful views of Las Vegas and the Red Rock Canyon. I was disappointed in the various trail markers that got confusing and/or over-abundant (too many people marking it up).. I would do this hike again

Fantastic trail with wonderful views of Las Vegas, Red Rock Canyon and the La Madre Mountains. A variety of terrain, great views along the way and a terrific endpoint at the peak make this a fun and interesting trail.

I never thought of myself as someone who would climb up and over rocks. For the most part we followed footprints when it was unclear where the trail was. I think we took the hard way a good bit, but we had fun and it is great view all the way to the top. We were not disappointed.

Great trail, little hard to know which way to go up and down the rocks but amazing, fun & gorgeous!

Straightforward going up, but a little tricky in the descent. As you go up, keep a sense as to the route you took, as when descending it is possible to lose perspective as to the "best" way down! Such a wonderful hike, though!

*access road to trails was closed so have to park on Timberline Road. Only .8 miles to white Creek trailhead.
*trail follows a gurgly creek, which is wonderful company the first half of the way. Dogs loved it also. forested- would be great in summer here too.
*beautiful views all around on second half.
*dry creek views didnt dissappoint.
*great afternoon here-

Most challenging hike for me to date. when you get to the top, that's the reward! I felt amazing conquering this lil mountain!

I love this trail!

let's just say it lives up to its name(MJ). Great hike with a waterfall at the end. the waterfall wasn't quite in season. I would definitely hike again in season.

What a view once you get to the top! clear trail.

Awesome hike. Agree that this is moderate in difficulty as elevation gain is very gradual. My tracker reported 7.2 miles (Map my fitness) so not sure how this is 5.7 miles on app.

Good walk for children. It is uphill, but doable for our 7- and 4-year olds. The view of Lake Tahoe once you are up the hill is spectacular. It is paved all the way.

on Castle Rock Loop Trail

Great Trail. Fantastic views and fairly well marked, which was surprising given we couldn't seem to find the exact trail when we went up to Castle Rock. We followed the "beaten" path thru the snow, which wasn't what ALLTrails showed. Still loved it. Look forward to doing it again in Spring Thaw weather.

It’s a great hike for those that enjoy height and don’t fear narrow trails. The hike to the top will be worth it!! Keep going!

The day I went there was a group of young kids smoking weed and had there dog running with no leash.

great for short training runs! over 1000ft ele gain, moderately technical, a couple nice fairly smooth lightly downhill and flat combos for some speed, great for interval and hill work! basically just a lot of fun to run! go by 6am,you'll be back well befor 8 and not many hikers then...some days none, I see about 3 other regular runners around that time. single track, u hafta walk to pass hikers, tho most step off to side politely, few dogs, all well behaved.
