Awesome mountain bike riding trails.

Great trail! It is marked hard, probably due to the amount of water you might end up hiking through, if it's the summer. In parts of the trail, water will easily reach close to your knees. Very beautiful trail.

Don't be mislead. This is no hiking trail. This is a paddling adventure only.

I love it !!!

Fun trail for learning about Florida coast wildlife.

Just got back from this trail. Both loops are flooded, but nothing more than ankle deep. The mosquitoes are horrendous. My nine year old was almost carried away by them. We fully sprayed ourselves down before getting on the trail and they laughed at us.
Well maintained trail, $6.00 at the gate, easy parking if you go early. Nice walking by a river. Take a weight belt so the mosquitoes can’t carry you away!

Maintained nice and had a neat little learning facility for my little one.

Had a great hike with the kids there. Saw gators, turtles and a hawk. The rapids are beautiful, bathrooms & playground are nearby.

Great park to run in. Nice large paved trail.

This is a short little trail that is good for a quick day hike to keep yourself in shape if you don't have time to hike a regular trail. It's one mile trail.

fun but don't go on this trail in the hot weather

fun but don't go on these trails when it's in the 90'

Love this beach and the preserve. Nice to kayak off the causeway as well. Great place for sunsets.

Really shows you what a wild Florida looks like. The rapids make for some great photography and as you make your way through the trail you really do feel one with nature, especially to be so close to home.

Cool trail... but beware of horseflies during summer months.

Great trail with awesome views of the river and "Florida rapids!" I also did the Baynard trail. Great park!

Nice trail, well groom ask for a map in the welcome entrance to see all the off road trails. Number 10 was close when we went for Memorial Weekend.
The majority of the trails are easy to moderate. I recommend to go with a buddy some of the puddles can be kind of deep.

This place was awesome!!! Loved the off beaten path.

Love this trail. enough sun and shade. couple places to rest and get a drink. No facilities is probably the only reason not 5 stars

Incredibly beautiful! Saw 3 turtles, huge bird on a branch watching everything. Probably an Osprey. Saw another huge bird fly over carrying an 8” fish! Must have been an Uber bird, or an Eagle. Very well marked, plenty of benches, great hike!

Hiked A tract and enjoyed the hilly terrain.
We saw a large rattle snake lying across the trail but it had no interest in us and quickly left. I saw the hikers' peace sign made of pinecones; fellow hikers and I added a pinecone of our own. I would like to go back and hike the other trails at Croom.

A beautiful trail with lots of birds and other wildlife sightings. Views include ancient cypress and towering old citrus trees. Just one of several incredible trails within the Highlands Hammock State Park.

The reviews looked good. people mentioned it's a great place to take dogs so we thought we'd check it out. Turns out, dogs are not allowed on the trails, although I can't imagine why. Well, I'm a rebel at heart so we took a chance. We did the Flatwoods trail and it turned out to be about 1.6 miles. The trails are marked well and if you download the map from the Brooker Creek website, it's very easy to follow the markers on the trail you want to take. I'd like to go back and do the full four miles when it's not so late in the day. It's a pretty good hiking experience overall. The trails are wide and for the most part, you travel under the trees with light shining through but there were a lot more areas in direct sunlight than I had anticipated. if we go back, I will definitely put on sunscreen. it's worth mentioning that as we were coming back out to the parking lot, someone was heading toward the trails with a dog as well so based on that along with the previous reviews, I'm guessing the no dogs rule is overlooked for those who clean up after their pets? One can only speculate but I do wonder if there is a fine if caught.

Gorgeous trail - quiet and well marked. One of my favs.

I did this along with the Baynard and Seminole trails and it was very worth it! Great scenery and good wildlife. The rapids view is very unique to the state and was extremely relaxing to be around. I highly recommend this trail.

Excellent trail! It was well-maintained and very scenic the entire way. I loved walking along the river, which gave some of the best scenery on the entire trail. Saw a few gators and lots of turtles and birds. Definitely a 5-Star trailand I highly recommend this along with the river rapids trail.

Great trail with well marked trails. Did the B loop which is about 9 miles starting at the Tucker Hill Trailhead. $2 to access park. I would rate this easy to moderate. The trail has a few roots and some dampness here and there but overall a pretty easy hike with some elevation (150 ft.) which is a lot for Florida. Very little traffic and the ability to customize your hike as you go. Enjoy!

Love it. Dogs are allowed on a leash.
