Amazing blue water and I saw an unidentifiable amphibian in the damn spillway about 2 feet long with hind legs. Amazing!

Not much water flow this time but a fun hike with the pup.

This is Lake Catherine State Park's most popular trail. I hiked it on September 15 thinking I'd have it to myself due to the high heat and humidity. Not to be. There were MANY people out and about on this trail. It was very beautiful and the creek waters were crystal clear! I loved this short hike immensely. The suspension bridge was fun and the falls were flowing. I saw a snake and lots of pretty things.

One of the best scenic spots on Eagle Rock Loop!

Really pretty, would be stunning in the fall with the color change. I don’t think I would have rated this as easy, there are some steep areas that you do have to watch your footing with. My parents, dog, and I enjoyed it and it got our heart rate up. The falls weren’t full at all but it hadn’t rained in a while.

Have nothing but good things to say about White Oak Lake State Park and their hiking trails, rarely see any trash and the trails are clear if any obstacles, very family friendly

I’ve done this hike twice now and even in low water it’s still beautiful. Easy short hike!

Nice trail, completed Labor Day with my dog. There are a few challenging, rocky spots but not too bad. It is the most popular trail at the park, so quite a few people. The falls were pretty non existent due to no rain this summer but still a nice spot. If the falls are all you’re interested in, take a left at the trailhead and go clockwise- it’s much shorter.

The water was mostly dried up when I went, so the hike was more exercise than site seeing.

Scenic rivers and streams! Neat rock formations and things to explore. Nice length for a half-day trip

First time in this area, went with a buddy of mine whose family has hiked Eagle Rock Loop as a whole, so he was very aware of what area we were going to, what was available (water, campsites for hammocking...) It was absolutely beautiful! Mostly covered trails, so the sun wasn’t an issue, and the water was up enough to swim for a little while before heading back. We took a water bottle each, a filter, and we were set for the entire day! Will definitely be coming back to visit for an overnight hike soon!

Nice drive along the White River, some good overlooks. Calico Rock is a pleasant stop. Eat at Jo-Jo's Catfish Wharf just noerth of Mountain View when you get to the end, it's worth the drive!

Beautiful, great swim hole!

The first place to cross the river is close to the parking lot. Watch for red stripes hanging from the trees. Also, there is a tree with double white marking. Look on the opposite side of the river to see the trees with blue and white markings. After the first crossing follow the white markings. In difficult places like camping sites look for red stripes. The second river crossing is marked by red stripes and tree with double white markings.

We hiked this trail last weekend. It is by far one of my favorites. So many beautiful views even in the middle of summer. There was just enough challenge without being too hard. I don’t recommend bringing pets or young children to this one but is absolutely AMAZING!

Beautiful trail, there are several loops for all skill levels. Take the bottom trail to the falls, you can easily walk right up to the bottom of it.

great for novice hikers. Great views along the entire rim of beautiful Mt Nebo.

Beautiful trail.Very easy, yet enjoyable for all skill levels. I did this after a pretty heavy downpour and the trail wasn't slick or dangerous. Great trail for the summer when you want to jump in the water for a quick cool down then hop right back on the trail and keep going.

We went mid-May and it was perfect! Beautiful trail and great for the entire family. The water was a bit cold to swim in, but that didn’t defer the kids!!

Nice shade the entire trail. Clearly marked.

Beautiful sights, however the ranger maps are very misleading and lack detail. The rangers themselves weren’t very knowledgeable about the trails. Got a little lost at first on the hike. The first Creek you come upon is Blaylock Creek. We mistook it for the little Missouri. Also, I’d recommend hiking early in the summer. That 95 degree sunny day had us melting. Not literally. Anyway, we weren’t able to finish the trail because once you cross Blaylock Creek it’s a pretty steep and rough hike uphill for a good while. Just keep going and it will eventually wind down to the Little Missouri River. Follow the white marks on the trees. They are old markings, but they are the correct ones. Pack plenty of water! It is very beautiful. Next time we will be prepared and it will be a memorable hike!

Overall this is a great trail for a day hike. We did come across one large group and two smaller groups that were camping. It is a little challenging in places, but the views and water make it worth while. Heading out we did lose the trail after we crossed the stream. It took some wandering and All Trails to get us back on course. The odd thing is that we were able to follow the trail all the way back to the stream with no difficulties.

This trail is extremely well shaded which was very nice for a summer hike. There are plenty of camp sites along the way. If you want to swim, wait until after you cross the Little Missouri River and go several hundred yards further. There are some really nice swimming holes.

Since it was summer and the temperature was in the mid 90sF, we carried a lot of water. We did not need to do that. You will be fine with just one bottle and a good filter.

In addition to the white rectangular blazes, there are a few places that have pink plastic markers hanging from the trees. These were helpful at the river crossing.

Trail is well maintained and marked. Connects to multiple overlooks and bluffs with rest areas and trash disposal. Views are gorgeous. Well worth the hike.

Some steep inclines and rocky climbs but great! Benches along the way right after long stretches are nice. The waterfall wasn’t running because it’s super hot and dry in July, but the water felt nice.

We didn’t get to see the fall which was disappointing but the trail it self was beautiful! We hike a lot and this trail was shorter than most but I would say it’s pretty moderate not easy. My dog loved the lake at the end!

Gorgeous trail and nicely shaded. Perfect for an easy outing. Probably my favorite trail of the weekend for its simplicity and beauty.
