Beautiful View. Easy Hike! Make sure to park at Laurel House Road. Be very careful and stay on trails.

This is a pleasant stroll to a beautiful waterfall. There are other trails but I didn’t have time to check them out, will be back to.

Was very crowded but its also Labor Day weekend. I'm happy the first two lots were full because frankly you don't want to walk on the road when you can just drive further up to one of the numerous other parking options that get you in without walking on a road with no shoulder. I brought my 5 and 8 year old and we did this and then added on inspiration point after. There is a decent amount of climbing up and down(for the falls from Scudder Road Parking), but the views were nice (minus the crowds). Boys thoroughly enjoyed it. We were a bit more adventurous and climbed right near the falls on the top and bottom (very carefully, watch for wet rocks)

Great views and the waterfall is breathe taking!

Very easy trail with a lot of steps to get down the waterfall area and back up. The rest of the trail is through the woods and very nice, but somewhat crowded.

Beautiful to visit in the autumn. Get there early for easy parking and have the trail to yourself.

Just a quick walk from the designated parking area, you can get right up to (and even into) the falls. You can also follow the road past the parking area to the very top of the falls with an amazing view.

Awesome! Totally beautiful well maintained and marked trails. Really cool waterfall. Go! You won't regret it.

Great short hike with beautiful views. Can get crowded on Friday - Sunday.

Beautiful views

Great view of the Waterfall. Also a great beginner’s trail.

Great hike! Beautiful from the minute you get on the trail all the way up to the outlook! The waterfalls were awesome! Gets pretty steep and a little tough to hike on the way up but nothing extremely difficult. We hiked on a mild summer day after rain the day before so it was a little muddy in some spots. We really took our time to enjoy the waterfalls, the outlook point, and we took a little break on the way up so it took us about 6 hours to complete the entire trail.

PARK AT LAUREL HOUSE ROAD! The trail and falls are simply awesome, but parking on 23A is insane. Continue past into Hunter and park above the falls, where they have beautiful trails leading to all parts and viewing areas. Im a little chubby and would call this moderate, not easy, but all in all just loved it!

Poorly marked trail. Got to what we thought was the lookout and saw nothing remarkable, so I too, am guessing we didn’t actually get to the right spot.

Beautiful!

Easy 3/4 mile stroll up to the falls. Nice falls but overrun with jackasses not heeding the no swimming or diving signs. Loud and full of humanity on a warm weekend. Nice to see it but I don't think I'll be coming back. Not as spectacular as, say, Kent Falls, and just too many people. Parking is also a mess.

I know people say they have missed the turnout for Prospect rock. Once you reach the white LT hashes you are there. Directly across from where the LT heads north.

We (me, husband, and 4 year old son) hiked this on a Tuesday morning (around 10am). We found an AWESOME trail guide online for this at https://hikethehudsonvalley.com/hikes/kaaterskill-falls-ii-upper-trailhead/
This helped us decide on the Laurel House Rd parking lot vs the one where you have to walk around the side of the road. We started at the parking lot and went to the viewing platform to get our first look at the falls. It was empty! For about 1 minute. After that, we made our way down the trail that led to the falls. It was very steep and tricky in some spots because it was our 4 year old’s first time on such a steep/long hike. The trail was easy to navigate and towards the end there are actual steps built into the side. Definitely check out the top waterfall trail that you come to first because it is amazing! Once you’re down at the bottom you can really explore around at your own level which was great. Bring a swimsuit if the weather permits! I wish we had because the pool at the bottom is great and we ended up getting pretty wet just exploring on the rocks. At the bottom a lot of people are coming and going and towards the afternoon it definitely got more crowded. The waterfall was worth the hike back up too and there’s enough to take in at the bottom that you’re really able to rest up for the trip back. Great spot and I can’t wait to go back!!

nice fall to see when level of water is higher but the trail
is nice and not hard to see.

Slightly steep walk up an old road to the look out. We almost missed the sign for Prospect Rock, so be on the look out for it once the trail flattens out a bit.

Main parking lot was full. Had to park down the road. Kind of a dicey walk along the road to get to the trailhead. Trail was crowded and mostly vertical. Well maintained and beautiful waterfalls.

As advertised- nice short walk to a pretty waterfall and back

Great views and a manageable hike
