Truly a breathtaking piece of paradise. A place with so many hidden gems even away from the main parts of the park. Must visit for any outdoor lover !

Stunning. Hiked it in the snow and although that made it cold and wet it was still awesome.

What a Great Hike! One steep part but lots of trees & roots to hold onto. The waterfalls along the way are Gorgeous!

Great hike. I couldn't see much of anything on the top of Peaked Mountain yesterday, but I didn't mind... the Brook trail (filled with marshes and lush beauty) made my day : ) It was a nice change of pace to hike a trail not entirely made up of rocks too... some of them got slippery approaching the summit though, so next time I'll pick a day when it's not raining to see the view : )

Great hike, when you find the trail. When you drive off asphalt on River Rd go 3.5 miles and park. Walk straight and you are on the trail. We had a nice dog hike! Very nice easy hike!
Enjoy!

Hiked trail in June, nice shady route. Impressive Falls. Improved boardwalks at marshy start of trail.

The gorge and 3 waterfalls are spectacular features of this trail. The trail however is often too close to the main park road and not well marked especially in those spots where you need guidance.

Very gradual until the top with lots of spots for the dog (or humans) to swim on a hot day. Great views! Somewhat crowded by the thirteenth lake area. Our dog hikes often, and I know some said their dogs couldn’t make it all the way. Our Aussie/husky 50 lb medium dog had no issues on this one, but smaller or less agile dogs may have a tougher time.

Beautiful trail, nice and easy and dog friendly until the top. We got pretty close to the top and had to turn around due to our dogs sliding on the rocks and unable to climb the roots of trees. We boosted our dogs a few times to get closer but didn't feel comfortable or safe enough bringing them further. Loved the view of the lake, pond and stream on the way up.

Swam in the water pool next to the waterfall, it was a great cool down!

Terrific hike with a fair amount of scrambling at the top. Lots of water (lake, pond and streams!) for our 2 dogs. Took 3 of us 4 hours to make it to the top of the peak and back. Even on a cloudy day, the peak was worth it. Will definitely be doing this one again.

Great hike to the Peaked Pond with nice views of thirteenth lake, a stream, and rolling hills. The last mile to the mountain was steep, challenging, and made slippery due to the light rain. It was definitely not easy, and we had to grab onto roots and rocks at times. We made it to the top but didn’t have a view due to the clouds. There were trails to a couple of ponds on route to Peaked Pond that are worth another trip to explore.

Very nice trail through a very beautiful forest. The trail gives a feeling of solitude and seems like it is very lightly used. I hiked on a Sunday and saw nobody else. Not much maintenance, especially after the Stone Dam Lake area, where none of the blow down is cleared. It is not a difficult trail in terms of elevation, but you must keep an eye on the markers and look for the very faint trail in some areas. I enjoy these kinds of trails and the quality of the forest here made it an excellent hike.

Great hike! Definitely does not seem long as stated. It has amazing views of the lake.

easy trail for the family to enjoy

I have really enjoyed the hike... Upper and middle falls are really close and its not much of a hike, the walk to lower falls is nice the canyon gets deeper and lot of pine trees around its really nice... After the hike dont forget to drive in park road and stop at all the scenic lookout points you will love itt.... Opps I forgot to mention that the middle falls has a rainbow... :), I would love to go back in fall..!!

This was an incredible hike! Great workout and spectacular views. At a brisk pace and with about 2 mi of trail running on the way back, it took us around 3 hours to get to the top of Peaked Mountain and back to the parking lot. Closer to 8 miles, not 6.2. If you’re planning to climb to the top and not turn around at the pond, know that the last section should be rated difficult and the hike overall is moderate not easy in my opinion.

This is by far one of the best state parks I've been to. A true gem in the state of New York. Plenty of trails and scenic views that take your breath away. If you are looking for a fun getaway this is the place to be.

I really liked this trail because of how remote it was and I didn’t see anyone else. It wasn’t too difficult in terms of terrain and the length would make it a good overnight hike (I only did 4 miles total, in and back. I plan on going back and camping to do the whole thing). This would have been a rough trail though if I was a beginner. It’s well marked in some spots but not in others and not well maintained. There are many overgrown spots and downed trees that obliterate the trail making it easy to go off track, which I did once and thankfully realized quickly. The bridge about a mile in is damaged. Passable but sketchy. So, good for hikers with experience or looking for a more rugged hike. Not so good for the newbie.

It was a very long hike that let to the valley top on the opposite side of the falls. I was hoping more to be up close to the falls.

We started this trail from the entrance near campsite 31 & all agree we would rate this as a moderate, not easy, hike. There was a fairly steep incline with decent elevation the first half of the hike going in this direction. We’re all experienced hikers & were all quite winded the the time we made it to the lookout. I definitely recommend novice hikers start from the trailhead, but if you want a great workout, start on the opposite end.

A word of warning. This is a beautiful walk along Peaked Mt. Brook to the Pond. The Easy rating is appropriate here. But the trail up from the pond has steep rocky sections. It is enjoyable and the views make it worth the effort but it does require effort.

Rating from a 7 year old- It has tons of nice sounds.

Rating from a 5 year old- It was fun.

From the parents- Easy hike for the kids with a nice lookout over Cranberry Lake.

this was and awesome hike a bit longer then what I'm use to but pretty easy hike we stopped once on the way in. I will suggest anyone trying to get to the bottom of the falls to bring a rope that would have been very helpful.
