Great hike this morning, not too crowded. Started about 9am. Awesome views all around from the top.

Loved this hike- starts an uphill trek to get the heart rate going- pretty little creek then somewhat levels at one mile up- beautiful views of olevhain reservoir and lake Hodges- spotted red tail hawks and other birds ,a roadrunner and nice trails along the way- definitely going back.

Very busy and a lot of rock hopping

It’s a very steep incline but beautiful views all around. I recommend reaching the top before the sun comes out. The way back down is a breeze.

One of my favorite hikes! I brought two kids with me and they did very well! Lots of walking/hiking but very worth it!

I love this hike- flat enjoyable path around lake to gradual incline to pretty steep hike as you get to the top- Im older so I find this challenging enough for exercise- always see quail and roadrunner or two with nice view of lake- love it!

Not too hard , fun

Easy hike, great for family hikes, dog walks, etc. Did a sunset hike yesterday. Took roughly 50 mins to summit st decent pace. would recommend flash lights and/or headlamps if doing aunset hike. Trails are well taken care of and maintained. Picnic tables at summit. Nice views of ocean, San Diego cityscape and point loma.

Visit instsgram.com/gregszymbor for photos and other great hikes!

This is one of the best trails in San Diego county. It has so many variations and challenging trails for all levels. I haven’t found another trail that matches its intensity and the sights and sounds are a real payoff

Great and pretty easy trail. Good for dogs too

Great horseback trail in cool weather. No shade.

This is a medium difficulty trail with a nice view at the top. It felt longer than 5.2 miles and my hubby and I did it in about 3 hours.

This hike is challenging but worth it. The only thing I would strongly recommend is bringing plenty of water and sunscreen. There is a sign at the beginning of the trail with recommendations on the amount of water to consume on this hike. We went on a day that was a little too hot and brought 5.5 liters of water and that wasn’t enough for the both of us. We ended up rationing water the last 1.5 miles of the hike. There is not a lot of shade to give yourself a reprieve from the sun and I ended up getting sunburned really badly. The hike has a steep incline on the way up and plenty of incline on the way back as well. In final, plenty of water, snacks, and sunblock.

I found it really hard but I made it....I did puke at the end as it was very challenging for an old guy like me. Tough hike, only take it on if you ready to work.

The trails here are pretty easy, it does get a little confusing at times because some areas aren’t marked. It’s also a funny sunny hike, so make sure you wear sunscreen.
The one thing that is very annoying are the screaming kids, people leave them at home!

Bring more water than you already have.

absolutely beautiful. this is on the must do list for any socal hiker. look out for snakes though.

This was my first "hike" in San Diego. Nice incline. Fairly congested up and down. Great views throughout.

I frequent this trail often. So much cleaner and quieter than the front side of the mountain. And TONS of parking. The trail is well maintained and marked well. A nice hike when you don't have time to go far from home. This time of year it is very green and lots of flowers in bloom. Unfortunately there was a fire there recently and we lost a big chunk of the vegetation. So please be respectful and stay out of this area while the plants are regenerating.

Amazing trail! Once you get passed the overcrowded cowels mountain trail, you pretty much have the whole trail to yourself. I barely ran into 4 people all together. Great inclines and declines. The last .25 mile to the peak is a nice challenge for any hiker. Absolutely loved this trail- definitely coming back!

5 Peak challenge completed

Definitely a tough, “up hill both ways” kind of hike. The views from the top of the peaks is quite impressive as you gaze out toward the sea. Bring a hat and lots of water as there is little to no shade. An early start is key, especially in the warmer months. Concur on having footwear with ankle support and good traction. If the parking lot is full, you can park along the road without issue. It just adds a bit more distance to your overall trek. A friend and I did this hike (~13 total) under 5hrs with rest stops and breaks at the top of the two peaks.
Enjoy!

Didn’t have time to go past the Jeep today but took a 35# loaded backpack in an effort to train for Mt Williamson and I have to say that is definitely the toughest hike I’ve done in the area so far! A hat would be a good idea, as I kept sweating all the sunblock off and ended up quite burnt.

I’ve hiked on this trail with my two dogs and it’s a nice trail!

Great, well-maintained trail. Easy/Moderate trail with a slow incline throughout. We went with a group with ages 6-60 and everyone had a blast.

Nice damn and oh damn! My legs hurt.

Not crowded during midday. Some rocky sections but mostly towards the top. Views of other mountains and rooftops of houses.

This hike took 2 hours at a moderate pace. Beautiful views and perfect for dogs in good shape. There is no shade and I could see it being super hot in the summer. There are picnic tables at the top if you bring a lunch, but it’s a busy trail so go early :)
