Excellent trail with beautiful scenery. Came from high bridge and hit cucumber falls at the end and it was well worth it. had the gorge trail to ourselves, but the falls themselves were a little crowded since it's a popular spot right next to the road.

Great rolling trail following the river. the last bit has a decent elevation change. Make sure to stop at Cucumber Falls.

Easy trip to a nice falls. If you like easier hikes, this is a good one and give it a five. No altitude with views, but still a nice break on a road trip. I added a little over an extra mile by walking down to the river and back.

Can’t beat it!

Great level trail. Great camping. Lots of water falls

Rain was light and steady but the trail was great. 50 degrees on the 1st week in dec 17.

Trail would be great, but the bridges are out. Until they’re repaired, don’t waste your time.

Fun trail to go on, Ì went 11/5/17, about 4 hours round trip. Basically walking up a hill half way then down the hill half way. Easy marked trail with blue diamonds (and yellow rectangles) on the trees. You’ll come to the top on the hill where it forks, left will take you on the Allegheny Trail, and right take you to the High Falls (there are signs). Once you come to the railroad tracks make a right and follow the tracks down stream around a few bends until you come to a train stop and you’re there. Ì suggest reading Scott C’s post down below on how to find it because ì had trouble finding the trail head myself.

This was a very pretty out and back hike. Be sure to stop at the Cucumber Falls in the beginning of the hike or you'll miss a hidden gem!

Too crowded and confusing.

Nice and easy trail - at least the short portion I did. Cool things to see along the way.

I Love this hike. Myself and a couple of friends hiked it last week which was mid to late August and the weather was perfect. Not to hot not to cold, just perfect for a good day hike. The train was there when we got there and the view of the falls was an absolute treasure

Not a bad hike...very easy and pretty much all flat...trail is very wide. I think a lot of folks use it for mountain biking as well...pretty cool history along the way as we got further into the hike, towards Hammond, we started seeing a lot of old bricks and worn down structures from the old brick factory...beautiful views of the Tygart river from the beach area...walked the railroad tracks back to valley falls and got some good pics...all in all, not a bad hike for a couple of hours on a beautiful Saturday.

followed the directions that it gave me. found out from a local that some landowner had slashed a woman's tire for parking by the trail head. so we had to park on the other side and walk the tracks the entire way. other than that it was a beautiful place to spend a couple days.

The falls here are beautiful! I followed the train tracks a bit off trail and ended down by the water. Huge rocks, beautiful views!

Nice hike out to cucumber falls will do this one again.

After some searching, I located the trailhead at the Cucumber picnic area. Near the beginning, a bridge is washed out so you do have to cross the stream. I enjoy doing that though! A little further, you'll cross a road and eventually end up at Cucumber Falls. From there, I'm not sure which way you're supposed to go. I walked down to the fall and then back up. There were two trails that lead up a hill, but neither were marked so I turned back as I had already been hiking for a few hours. The park service really needs to step up their game when it comes to marking their trails.

Great trail! Went backpacking and slept the night by the falls. Swimming hole under the falls was great!

We started at Ohiopyle and went to Cucumber Falls, then Great Gorge, to Kentuck, to Johnathan Run, to GAP. It's about an 8 mile loop and beautiful! The last 2.8 miles is flat and easy.

One of the most picturesque trails I've ever been on. Did the whole trail and back which took about 4 hrs maybe a little less.

Beautiful waterfall

Hike was great, medium difficulty due to plenty of trip/slip hazards. The water in the river was a good chilled temperature. No one here seemed to mention that there are snakes at the falls, so that was quite the surprise. The group I hiked with was getting ready to swim just below the falls and we happened to spot a snake, and then another and another, etc. I still swam but the rest didn't so that was quite disappointing. Turned out to just be common watersnakes.

cool little trail. easy walk pretty view along the way. waterfall!

Beautiful area! We hiked down Rhododendron Trail and found 27' Falls and Twin Falls. Can't wait to go back this fall.

We logged a 11.4 mile roundtrip with my GPS. This trail is well used and in good shape. There are areas of mud. On the route to the big waterfall there are many other small ones along the trail. There are many camp sites for overnight stays, most are set up with rock crafted seats and firepits. Five Star Trail for scenery alone!

Awesome experience
