Absolutely loved it. The scenery is beautiful and definitely a challenge for beginners.

A little scary but super fun! Beautiful colors in October

I love how fast you get amazing views on this hike! Some scary parts for sure but they just add to the fun!

Beautiful, adrenaline pumping climb.

Went during the summer it was super crowded but still tons of fun. Just don’t look down.

This is strenuous, and if you’re afraid of heights be full warned that there are points of cliff exposure! But it is so worth it for the views! We hiked this immediately after watching the sunrise on Cadillac Mountain, and the trail was very quiet and not many people were on it! You should walk the beach when you’re done! Beautiful views and so worth it!!

Great little hike

Perfectly marked. Do not climb if you are afraid of heights. I have never heard such gasps of awe of the scenery from my wife. Absolutely perfect (hard) hike.

We did this trail right after Precipice and found it actually fairly easy in comparison. There’s a mix of rock scramble and a short iron rung climb but you get to the top if 30 minutes (maybe less, it was raining for us). The views here are absolutely incredible. If you do this hike during peak foliage I think you get the best views. If you go down the Bowl Trail there’s a fun little pond which people go for a dip in the summer.

Amazing views and a great climb.

You definitely need to start this trail with the iron rungs first. Going up them was intimidating (there was definitely a point of turning around not feeling like an option), but I think going down them would have been terrifying. Not a trail for kids or seniors with questionable balance. Amazing views!!! Except for on the top, we staid surprisingly out of the cold fall wind.

Beautiful views at the top. It was scary at parts but almost all tough spots had a rung to hold. Experienced hikers only- is my suggestion for this hike.

A surprisingly fun suburban hike, worth a little drive to get to. Very shady, with a pretty creek featuring lots of non-native trees. Feels more exotic than suburban La Canada.

Loved it! Some of the most breathing views. You definitely should not be afraid of clinging and heights.

Incredible hike and views. I completely agree with some of the other reviews - I did not find the climb physically difficult, but if you have a fear of heights or areas with limited handholds and footholds this would be a difficult one. One of my favorite hikes in New England.

Great close by hike with beautiful views and fun walking through the ruined house and waterfall. We started early (7:45 AM) so trail was empty. We started counter clockwise on Solstice canyon rd . We finished the loop in an hour and 15 minutes so decided to do it again this time clockwise starting with the rising sun trail which is a harder uphill. Ended up having a picnic at the ruins on our way down. Great workout and fun hike! Trail got pretty busy around 10 AM .

fun little trail great to combine with gorham and ocean path

Short and not difficult as long as you can climb rungs and find your own footholds at times. I never felt in danger but my husband was nervous as he has a fear of heights.

The trail is way over crowded, a lot of trash, parking sucks. it's more of a walking trail than a hike as half of it is a paved road.

Trail to the falls was not accessible at this time

Awesome experience! I recommend it

A beautiful park with well maintained and clearly marked trails. Parking at the trailhead is very limited and fills up fast. Rather than waiting for someone to leave we parked at a scenic overlook just up the road from the park entrance and walked the approx 3/4 mile to the trailhead.

We chose to do the loop counter-clockwise. The Solstice Canyon Trail is an old road bed, largely paved, but very degraded in sections. We saw folks pushing baby strollers up to Tropical Terrace. It's more of a walk than a hike, but it is definitely up hill all the way. It's shadey and canyony. Quite lovely. It ends at Tropical Terrace, the site of an old residence. It's a beautiful setting with lots of non native tropical vegetation. This is also the site of the waterfall, barely a trickle on our visit after our long, arid spring and summer.

We chose the Rising Sun Trail for our return. This is truly a hike. It's a trail, not an old road. After a quick and easy stream crossing there is a long slog uphill, nearly to the crest of the ridge in front of you. It will get your heart rate up, but it's very doable. Sections have steps built into the hillside. Once the crest is reached, there is a long traverse with beautiful canyon and eventual ocean views. Then the trail descends back to the trailhead.

This is a beautiful hike easily done as part of a day.

What a great hike! I started from the Sturtevant trail and it was a steady but pleasant hike up through the canyon. I only recorded 4.5 miles and ~900 ft elevation gain.

Great variety of trails with beautiful views.

If you ever want to hike, get a small work out and explore? this is the place to be. Murphy's ranch and all it's history, you will find a cool trail that will lead you to a gate fance. you can either go down the stairs to the broken road, make a left and just follow the loop all the way around the site. 2 miles of wonderful views !
I recommend this hike at night time.
I did it last night with my group.

Steep trail with iron rungs. Exposure, great views.

Wish fixing this trail was a priority. It is really a gem and I want to take my kids back.

Lots of fun to hike! Went later in the day and was not too crowded

Very nice trail, heavily traveled with many people along the way. Despite the amount of people the trail was very clean and fun to hike!
