My girlfriend and I loved it! If you’re looking for water falls there were none this time of year (August) took is 6.9 Miles to do the whole thing

Nice workout and great front range views.

The rapid elevation increase is immediately apparent. The change in trail, foliage and scenery was enjoyable. The last 10th of a mile will kick your butt, be prepared! The view of Horsetooth Reservoir and Fort Collins is breathtaking! I would not recommend this trail to those out of shape or new to hiking.

Awesome hiking but not for the faint of heart. Be well acclimated before heading out on this beautiful hike.

Awesome hike

Did this yesterday. They did a great job fixing this trail up, there's still signs along the trail of erosion from the flood, but the trail itself is in good condition. A fun mixture of up and down the entire way, and the homesteads/artifacts were awesome to explore! It's a good reminder to never take anything from these sights, but it was cool being able to look at the artifacts up close. Lots of sharp rusty metal and glass around the ruins, so watch your step, especially if you have kids. Also a LOT of poison ivy, so stay on trail and cover your legs!

Beautiful hike! The view is amazing

Great trail! Love the view!

It was a great day with my husband. This was our first hike and it was fun. It was too bad for heat wise. It rained and it was beautiful.

8/5/18 - Lovely hike through the forest, up and down on the trail. Trail is well marked. Very nice babbling creek along about 1/2 of the trek; wild flowers are pretty much on/off along the entire trail. The waterfall is quiet nice. Great hike to do if you dont have a lot of time only 2.5 mile out/one way. Definitely will do this hike again.

The homestead meadows and trails up there were a great surprise. Wasn't expecting too much from a trail that starts on the side of busy highway 36. I'll be back to explore more of the system.

Absolutely fantastic. Wonderful hike with rewarding scenes and serenity from top of the tooth. Lots of people in the parking lot, nobody on top. Everyone scattering could have been due to periods of heavy rain and maaaybe some lightning. Stayed away from summit until storm cleared. Spectacular!

Beautiful waterfalls, not much shade and very hot though. Saw a little black snake near the water.

Great riding! Challenging climbs but fun and fast downhill

absolutely one of my favorite hikes. love climbing up the waterfall to the top. not many people on the trail. great day!

This is a beautiful hike. There's not much shade in the first couple of miles, but the real enters dense forest within the last mile. The falls are nice, and for the sure-footed, it's worth climbing up past Bridal Veil Falls (on the left) to another set of cascades.

We saw a Dusky Grouse on the hike back, which was a nice treat.

Also nice is that the trail was not crowded.

Tricky to find and stay on the trail. Make sure to be tracking/mapping

Challenging climb but well-constructed trail and excellent views from the summit!

Trail repairs were well done. This is a great hike. Only one section, more than halfway, which is rocky and steep for one-half mike. Meadow is beautiful.

Fun little trail with beautiful views at the top of the ridge and the while way up. Snakes are plentiful but I’ve only spoken to people who have seen them- I have yet to see one. We saw mule deer mom and fawns. Many wildflowers. Beautiful rises and ridges. Great hike with kiddos or older folks too.

Beautiful hike. Very peaceful. The flowers and small waterfall were gorgeous. Get there early as parking is very limited.

Easy climb and beautiful views.

Did this trail about a week ago with a large group and absolutely loved it. Trail isn't too difficult until the very end going up the actual rock which requires a very small amount of climbing.

We did encounter a medium sized rattlesnake on the trail as well, so be on the lookout. The area is full of toads and deer as well.

The top of horsetooth was truly breathtaking. It offers a nearly 360 degree view of everything and the sunset was gorgeous. Definitely worth it for an evening hike, just bring a headlamp for the return trip. For some people there was no cell service, so if you're an out of towner like me, make sure you have a ride arranged prior to hiking, or at least someone who can hotspot you. Would love to go back for a sunrise hike!

It was beautiful, it didn’t take long to do. I wouldn’t get excited if you planned on seeing a waterfall, it’s more like the leaky hose someone mentioned before... but views are worth it.

Round mountain/Sheep Mountain is probably the most underwhelming summit I’ve ever done. The trail is very steep and long for the majority of the hike. In total it’s close to 10 miles. This is a good hike if you’re looking to train for longer harder hikes or just want a killer workout. There are a few nice views along the way but nothing too exciting. Somewhere along this trail is an unmaintained trail to Stone Mountain. Apparently Stone mtn has great 360 views but I have yet to do this. Might be worth it though if your looking for something more spectacular. You can find directions online. Haven’t seen anything on AllTrails yet.

We found this trail to be much easier than described in other reviews. I took my 7 and 9 year old boys and they had no problem getting to the top. Nice and cool still in July at 6 am. Windy at the top. We saw lots of deer. Amazing views at the top.

This is the Round Mountain Adventure Summit however you're climbing to Sheep Mountain so there is a name confusion there. Probably the hardest hike ever been on.... went through 2 liters of water and took us a good 6 hrs to complete (disclaimer- we just got in from Houston the day before). This is definitely 10 miles total once you counter in the entrance trail plus the 4.75 miles to the top. We were so tired once we finally made it we never looked to see if there was a log book that someone had mentioned previously and the views at top are at best less than decent... maybe we didn't walk far enough but I was trying to make sure I had the energy to make it down. 4 hrs up and 2 to make it down (clouds came so we picked up the pace on the descent). I will say it was a beautiful hike going up and down which makes it totally worth it!! Take plenty of water, and a horn for bears as they frequent the area. The journey is all that matters and after almost 10 miles and close to 3k ft elevation gain, you'll feel a little badassy!

Hard on a hot day but worth it

Great trails leading to Horsetooth mountain peak and great views! The waterfall this time of year isn’t full but a great hike round trip was 6.5 miles
