Great hike that leads you on two adventures. Go up to the top and then hike down to the river. Parking is in the middle. Lovely day!

There is no marked trail below the canyon. Just climb between the rocks. A little dangerous but funny. When I went there, the fall is very small, but the pool under the fall is still very beautiful.

Hiked this yesterday around 7am before the heat. Starts with a few switchback to get you down to the riverbed. This is the driest I've seen this trail. There's water puddles here and there, with some trickling water. The lower water level does allow for easier climbing and route choice. Take your time on the final accent as you either go straight up the rock face or around the side. There's still plenty of stagnant water at the falls but no actual waterfall, which is a little disappointing, still a beautiful canyon though.

Very beautiful. Highly suggest going early during tourist season because it is such a busy trail. Climbing required in a couple of spots to get to the very top, but the view from even half way is incredible. Sedona is nothing like you've ever seen before!

great view, make sure to go to the left on the end of trail sign, can go up in between the rocks

Awesome trail. Came across a rattler between the parking lot and the trailhead, so keep your eyes peeled. The initial descent is gradual, when you get to the river bed it’s fairly easy going except a few spots require some climbing over rocks. We had our 7 yr old walking with us and 10 month old in our Deuter III. There were a few larger rocks in the river bed that provided adequate shade for breaks for snacks. Unfortunately, with the kids progress was slow, starting the hike at 7 am, we turned back around around 830 due to the heat. I’m not sure if we would have been able to make it much further with the child carrier on anyway. All in all, a great hike, I hope one of these days once it get cooler we’ll be able to finish without having to worry about the heat.

If you like hordes of people with kids and dogs running loose then this is your hike!

Loved hiking this beautiful trail

If you leave early enough, you will be shaded by the canyon for most of the hike. We started a little after 6am and it was shaded the whole way there—however, the sun had risen over the canyon by the time we were heading back. We stayed at the falls for a bit. There was plenty of water running through them—beautiful—some people were even jumping in! Try to stay on the trail by paying attention to trail markers, it’s easy to miss them when you get to the riverbed.

I love this trail even though for me it's more of a difficult hike because of all the tricky footing, bad ankles. It's nice and cool all year round, bring plenty of flashlights and sturdy boots, the rocks are sharp and with that in mind I would discourage bringing your pups with you. Last time I went, I had a really nice pair of boots but the upper part was swede leather and some of the rocks tore right through it when I stumbled, not some place I would expose my dogs' paws to, also it tends to get noisy due to all of the echoing so I'd worry about their sensitive ears and if it's worrying to them.

This was a great trail! Difficult but not too hard, we will definitely be back!

Sunrise hikes are the best

Beautiful mountains and wonderful “ side trails”

Beautiful area and the payoff at the top is incredible. Easy trail for kids to complete (youngest is 8) and doable for dogs as well. One area of the trail may be challenging but my GSP made it with little difficulty.
Try to go early, there is not much shade and there will be a lot of people.

Amazing views from the top. If you can go all the way. Bouldering down really wasn’t too bad. Took our 14 year old and she loved it!

Absolutely amazing. Once you get to the halfway mark (The Saddle) you literally scale the mountain. Be prepared to feel like a goat! If you can make it, it is 1000% worth the hike. Going down be prepared to get your butt dirty, as some places you just have to slide down the rocks. I'm so glad we chose to go to the top! It was fairly busy as we went over spring break, but it wasn't nearly as bad once you made it half way. Would recommend it over and over!

Great trail. The scramble is fine allowing you are willing to use your hands here and there to add stability. Epic view from saddle at summit.

Pretty difficult, you have to watch every step. Bring flashlights, wear sturdy shoes, possibly gloves. it's cold down in there. Very tricky footing.

Worth the trip. Very well maintained trails. Beautiful!

Very pretty! Gorgeous views from the top!

Couple of tips:

- I wouldn’t bring dogs. We brought our two German shepherds and it was very steep for them, especially coming down. There were some parts we had to pick them up and carry them down.

- Go in the morning or early evening. It gets very hot because there is no shade.

- Bring a lot of water. Make sure you have a backpack or something to carry them because you’ll need two hands.

Great easy hike. I won’t be doing this trail again only because it was too easy for me and there wasn’t any running water at the time. Also heard it’s packed when the water really starts to flow. Other than that I’d recommend it to anyone who is just starting off hiking or wants to get in a little cardio on the way back up.

I loved this trail! There wasn’t much water when I went so I’ll definitely be going again. A lot of flat hiking then a lot of incline towards the end.

Great hiking with amazing views. Scramble up and a scramble down. Would hike with a backpack so your hands are free

It was hard, but amazing views and at the end the Seven Falls!

So beautiful! Well worth the trip. We went early in the morning, which I recommend. By the time we came down the trail was getting really busy. Wouldn't recommend if it is really hot, trail is pretty exposed.
