Early November was a perfect time if year for this fun trail.

I hiked this trail for the first time on Wednesday around 4:00pm and it was not at all busy we only saw about 10 other hikers. This is a tough trail in the beginning, lots of steep switchbacks. But, once you get past that part it’s a lot easier and oh so worth it for the views. It’s a gorgeous trail and it was very clean. It can be hard on the knees coming down but we took our time and I would do this trail more often if I lived closer.
My step counter was 11993, 4.4miles, and 111floors.

Absolutely beautiful! The trail did get a bit rough, and was confusing in one spot. I had my older son go up to the top of the mountain, to look for more of a trail, but we really couldn’t make out where to go after a certain point.....around the 5/6 mile mark. We decided to come back down, as it was about 4, and we really didn’t want to chance getting stuck up there during the evening hours. Next time we will start earlier, and be more prepared. We are beginners, and new to Arizona.

Lots of people. Beautiful view!!

So much fun...the sign at the bottom rates this hike as extremely difficult and I would agree with that as you are bouldering for most of it. Challenging but totally worth it...our GPS indicated 10km round trip.

Used to be my favorite trail—beautiful and solid workout. Nowadays it suffers from far too many visitors on it’s narrow trail and too many off-leash dogs and owners who don’t pick up their dog’s poop.

Nice guided hike looks awesome.

best hike in Scottsdale Phoenix area. Not as rough as echo canyon but very challenging. great views.

Great workout! Slightly overcrowded and parking can get wild but the views great!

Totally amazing

Definitely a good workout climbing boulders and straight up in spots. Worth it once you are at the top. Parking at trailhead is a challenge

This trail is always a joy to hike. It was my first in Arizona. It has change a lot by half of the trail being paved but, the reward you get to at the end of the trail is worth it!

Awesome brother-sister hike!

No hiking staff needed! You'll need both hands to help negotiate many areas, though you're not really "boulder scrambling"... it's more like climbing steep stairs for most of the hike. There are hand rails where you need them. I was glad I wore low cut, light weight hiking tennis shoes as it allowed me to flex and extend my feet for longer strides from rock to rock (ankle supporting, leather boots would have slowed me down on this hike, though that's what I usually wear for hikes). A Camelback (go figure) style hydration backpack is the way to go... keep your hands free!

Great hike with incredible views. It’s a challenge but definitely not as hard as the signs suggest. Most of the steep areas have hand rails. Parking is difficult, do it on a weekday if possible.

Gorgeous. Didn’t find it as hard as the trail head signage suggests. Lots of climbing, rock scaling, bouldering type hike versus just a walk.

Great trail! The first couple of miles are somewhat generic, but once you make it down to the creek it’s really nice.
The trail gets confusing towards the end but keep going as the waterfall all the way at the end makes it worth the trek!

Beautiful views and scenery. Simply amazing when there’s water!

Love to take guests on this trail!!

It's one of the tuffer trails of fossil creek. Waterfalls are beautiful but not easily accessible. Be prepared for this one because the road is very rocky and it can hurt the legs.

Things to must have.
1. Good trekking shoes
2. Water
3. Power bars

Loved this trail! it is a bit challenging and technical but great one. Lots of people with dogs only I worry a bit for small ones but they seem happy. moderate crowded.

Must do easy hike for anyone, iconic. Great for kids (our 2 year old had no issues). If going for the “window turret photo” just know there is a bit of a scramble involved (see pics).

Awesome views, clean area, different options

A little crowded but a great hike with an excellent reward. Beautiful sunrise!!

Great hike, the top looks amazing, bring water.

This trail is not for the faint of heart. Marker 27 after the Helipad was all I could do today. A good tip is to not attempt after leg day at the gym. Will be back!!!

Great hike!! Recommend going before sunrise, and hike as the sun rises. I started climbing around 630am. Extraordinary views. I made it to the peak. I’m not an experienced
hiker but I am very athletic so it was a pretty difficult hike but wasn’t bad at all until about the last leg of the hike-as others had stated complete stair climber machine! I sat at the peak for awhile moving from the few areas to sit and the longer I sat the more people joined. I started the decent about 9am and on my run down it was getting very crowded but very hot. Had no experienced with any wildlife but again amazing views especially while the sun is rising the mountains surrounding captured the sunlight perfectly! Backpacks not needed just water and a snack-however I did carry one with my GoPro and snacks.

Best urban hike I have ever done. Pretty close to the airport and difficulty level will not disappoint you. It's a trail testing your endurance. Short but strenuous. Beautiful views from the top. Do not expect to see any wildlife, unless you're too lucky.

Beautiful views at the top. Definitely a challenge to get up there though. Difficult hike with lots of rock climbing.
