This map is misleading as it starts you on the Exeter Trail which is 2.5 miles of flat trail next to the Schuylkill River before you get to the actual Neversink Loop. If you want to skip the extra 5 miles, look for the Klapperthal parking lot in your GPS. That said, the flat portion was lovely and a very easy walk. The day I did this I only hiked up to Witches’ Hat, and I missed a sign about a closed trail due to hunting (there was a large branch covering it). There are a bunch of side trails here so I suggest checking out the Neversink Mountain Preserve website online to see all of them. There is personal property mixed in as well, so just be aware of that.

A number of trails for those who want a good workout. Area offers a variety of activity including kayaking, and swimming during summer months

Great place to bring kids of all ages. Trail is flat and fast. It runs along the creek. Well manicured and heavily traveled.

great trail for foot to eye coordination, rocky and wet at times but overall great hike. watch out as normal for pa slithering residents. I personally said excuse me to a 6' timber just a week ago.

This was a good trail with minimal views the first portion of the hike is gravel and very easy flat walk to get to the trail. The hike we did was about 8 Miles not sure how somebody seems to have walked a lot further and it was labeled a 10 mile. I would recommend starting closer and enjoying more of in the woods trail portion of these trails. Don’t mind the end of my map I got in my car and left before turning off the recording. I stopped where I started.

Lovely ride. The trail is mostly flat and shady and passes under a covered bridge at the heritage center where there are bathrooms and a snack bar. The main drawback was the mosquitoes. Bring your repellent!

Very well marked. You will get wet and muddy and parts are steep. But we loved it! Not a trail for small children, but my 21 pound dog had fun

Nice trail - moderate difficulty, nice variation in terrain. Our 7 and 9 year old were pretty tired after doing the large orange loop in 2h 20m. We parked at the Alpine St lot - we got the last spot at 10am on a Sunday, but there's plenty of street parking if you need. Trails are well marked, but Alltrails with GPS definitely helps - we didn't have to double back once. Not much in the way of views except when you reach the powerlines, but lots of nice rock formations, streams and wildlife.

Counter clockwise is the way to start. very steep up hill. About 6 Creek crossings. Lots of trekking through the creeks. Orange trail becomes blue, it is part of the loop.

Lots of fun, walk counter clockwise( towards sand spring trail first) then you can go down the steep section.

Nice comfortable trail for families.

Love this trail!!

The good thing about this trail is that it’s paved the entire way, so it’s bike friendly. It’s also tree lined and mostly shady. The down side is that it’s rather short, and right in town, so you can hear traffic and such. Sometimes a short ride is all you have time for. The parking is good at either end, which is convenient.

Well marked trail with much to see. Downloading a map would be a good idea as there are a lot of options. The boulders are awesome. Today was muddy due to all the rain.

Rivals the outer loop at Trexler Preserve as the best hike in the immediate Lehigh Valley area. Mix and match various loops to suit your schedule and energy level. Provides a welcome escape from urban noise and traffic ten minutes from Allentown. Use is light, though not sparse. Expect encounters with friendly mountain bikers. Especially nice in the late afternoon/early evening.

Great trail. Very low traffic, as in, I saw zero other hikers during my visit. Not great of you are looking for the payoff of picturesque views, but perfect for an afternoon in the woods. Some nice water along the way to cool off in. Pick another trail if you don't want to get wet.

Giving it one star because one is not able to ride trail. READ, trails is full of big branches. would not recommend it to anyone until it is cleared. every minute or so I was clearing branches from the trail.

I love Neversink, run or hike it frequently. But holy poison ivy! After the real steep incline on the long/orange loop it is unavoidable .

Easy walking trail. Sometimes crowded with Bikers and runners.

It is a very nice place to take your dogs and just have a nice day walking and playing. Highly recommend.

Hiked part of this trail from parking lot counter-clockwise to connect up to AT. Definitely interesting/scenic trail with plenty of streams worth the hike. Would agree with some other reviewers that is probably more Hard than Moderate trail given the long stretches of hiking upstream balancing on rocks/roots (though keeps it adventurous). Only 1st time on the trail so couldn't say whether was more due to recent rainfall or just the way the trail usually is. There is a wide stream crossing not too far off if starting from parking lot going north where is difficult to pass if water is higher than normal (no bridge/plank).

Best done in the early spring or late fall. Expect some overgrowth in less frequently traveled sections. Some sections pretty sloppy from unusually heavy rainfall over the last several weeks.

Have done this trail in 2 different seasons. This time the water was amazing - start out to the right and follow blue blazes for the sand spring trail. Be prepared - long sections involve walking upstream, often directly over the water and from rock to rock - great if you've got good balance - and it's also very beautiful. The final stream crossing has no bridge and is not easy to navigate. Be prepared.

We went hiking on this trail last Monday. It is a nice trail with some steep sections and a few rocky stretches. It is passable on all areas, a few sections were water logged and boggy but overall an enjoyable trek. We actually started on Sandy Spring trail and jumped onto this pretty quickly. From the parking lot you go straight up the road and drop in on right. If you hike the trail clockwise you walk along parking lot edge towards houses and you will spot the orange marker to drop in there.

Decided to go on a hike here at the resort before attending a late July wedding. So, for us as resort guests the trail was free.
This is 100% our fault but we ventured in without bug spray and made it about 2 miles up before having to bail and run down a ski slope. I have never in my life been on such a relentlessly buggy trail- it was impossible to breathe without inhaling them in- this could be due to the recent constant rain. Adding to this mild frustration was the fact that we lost the trail, despite having a map, right after we crossed over the ski slope. Essentially we came out of the woods to cut through a cleared out section with a lot of ski equipment and couldn’t figure out where to pick it up again in the woods across the way.
If not for the bugs I think it could have been really great. It was challenging in parts- a few downed trees to climb over and a mix of rocky and smooth terrain. A moderate uphill climb. Glad we tried, and worth it if you’re a guest of the resort- just go prepared with some hardcore deet.

Great trail! In rough shape given the amount of trees down. Do NOT take small dogs or small children on the trail as it is technical. It should be rated Hard. Only saw a few other hikers while on our 4 hour hike. Muddy trail - so wear good hiking boots! Enjoy...

perfect little local trail
