Good trail with a nice forest setting, but waaaayyyy too many noisy mountain bikers to share the trail with.

Great quick hike. Not difficult at all, would be a great one for out of town visitors.

Average at best. It’s more a biking trail than hiking trail. So you have to step aside for bikers a lot. Also not ideal for dogs for the same reason. The enchanted forest part of the hike was very pleasant and peaceful. But apex trial is completely exposed to the elements. Also definitely not 5miles. The trail shown is around 3miles

When it is windy, this is the best place to hike. My favorite go to hike. There is also a trail head a Pocco Calle and better parking than on the busy road!

Was not expecting to go on this hike but so glad I did! Some parts get a little narrow and close to the edge but nothing hard to navigate. My favorite hikes include water, huge rocks, dense forest mixed with amazing views & some wildlife & this has it all!

Loved this hike. The loop at the top is beautiful.

4.2.18 This is now my new favorite trail in Colorado! Stunning views and really quiet. only saw two guys fishing and that's it. very little cover from the elements, so plan accordingly. Would suggest this is more on the easy side of moderate, save for the last quarter mile is a steeper grade. Speaking of, be aware that right when it is getting steep going down, there are about 6 unmarked rebar rods poking out of the ground that would be easy to trip over! Overall, loved this trail and it will be my new "go to" when people come to visit from out-of-state.

Nice hike - went up the west trail, down the east. Saw 4 people total on a Wednesday afternoon. Was slightly confused at first since you had to cross the street to get to the right trail, but figured it out

Nice trail for me and my dog. Moderately busy, especially when the ball parks are in use.

My boyfriend and I went on 3/25/18. This was my first real hike more than 1 mile. My boyfriend probably thought it was very easy, I thought it was moderate. We went down to the dam and had lunch there and that was at 2.5 miles. It was a beautiful memory and a serene hike.

Pretty area right downtown for some nature time . One side is for pedestrians and other is for biking and roller blading . All paved . Pretty, clean creek and dog friendly ! Walk alongside the city skyline!

Some steep areas but overall a great hike! Beautiful views of the reservoir.

It was beautiful. Definitely will do it again!!

Awesome! Really fun with my boyfriend and dog. Absolutely amazing views! Also just really peaceful with very few people on the trail on a Thursday. But even on a day where Denver was 74 degrees, I regretted not bringing a jacket. Also the trail was very icy and slushy in some areas. We were really glad we parked at and hiked the west trail (thanks to another review here). Will do again!

Awesome section of the Clear Creek Train along the Wheat Ridge Greenway. Wide open spaces, narrow wooded lanes. A few bridges and pretty views of the creek. Paved and natural paths running along both sides of the creek through some woods merge onto one paved path as you come out to open space headed west. Lots to do and see!

Great trail for commuting on bike. Also good for enjoyment through walking, running, and biking.

This was a beautiful hike! I went on 3/2 and it was completely dry, with not a lot of hikers at all. It was a steady climb up, with some down hill parts as well. There are gorgeous views of the lake the entire hike, and the top offers beautiful views of the lake/dam. I highly recommend!

Lovely, easy walk along the creek that passes several small lakes. Some bikes and others dogs, but pretty quiet for a Sunday afternoon. Easy for all abilities and ages.

Nice soft trail to run on near a little creek and a couple lakes.

A good low alpine mountain climb. Keep your head on a swivel for fast moving (sometime out of control) mountain bikers.

beautiful hike on 2.26.18. it was very dry despite snow in other places. no spikes or yaktracs were needed. this is a really great trail

Very snowy and scenic! We managed with walking shoes poles but if there was much more snow would have needed snow shoes. It’s deceptively downhill at the start, so quite a work out coming back up! ( we decided to double back rather then go through the woods as they were in the shade and likely cold ). Overall a great work out for a few hours, saw deer and enjoyed the gorgeous space!

Kind of a mini-Bergen Peak. Great trail close to Denver. Home-trail-lunch-home was a little under 4 hours (probably 2 hours on the trail). Late February the trail was snowpacked (recent snowfall) with no ice. Didn't need snowshoes or traction. On a Saturday morning saw 15-20 hikers and half a dozen bikers. You're in forest most of the way, but with some scenic views at the top. We'll be going back.

Love the ducks, rocks, water and natural beauty of environment, especially amongst industrial scenery. My pup and I love the trail (black line) along the river, we do wish it was off-leash allowed though.
light traffic, on-leash, paved and natural trails.

Nice path to walk with our 3 y/o, paved for the majority and at just under 2 miles it was a perfect distance. A kids playground at the end was a nice surprise also. The GPS route takes you on the dirt trail (a little muddy in February) but there’s an adjacent paved walkway which follows a similar path.

Not a huge workout but nice trail and beautiful vistas
