Seemingly endless combinations of hike-able units... I’m biased but not sure there is a better mix of loop options for 2-5+ hikes.

flat trail. Good to hike anytime of the day.

Beautiful views of Gilroy. Wide trail with a gradual incline. Great place for a light hike!

fun trail under 3 miles but has a decent incline to make up for it. good if you're interested in a quick one. not very crowded after 10:00am. dog friendly.

Nice uphill climb with a great view at the top! It was super dry, so no waterfall. But super pretty nonetheless!! ♥️

One of my favorites with good hills, but be sure to bring your water with you. Various parts of the trail offer no shade

Nice hike. But, only some of it was shaded and watch out for the bikers.

A nice hike up hill the entire way but the view is worth it, no waterfall, dry and dusty!!

Mostly shaded, some sunny spots, decent elevation. Great afternoon hike that loops through downtown Los Gatos and the St. Joseph Open Space Preserved close to Lexington Reservoir.

Good trail for a morning workout. Parked at Prospect road lot. Was very crowded when I arrived at 9.15am but luckily got a parking spot. Parking gets freer during later hours. Trail was well marked. Not shaded in quite a few places.

Great hike but very little shade. Go early morning/late evenings to avoid the heat

Short but steep trail- I wouldn’t do this trail in the heat of day, but the view at the top is worth the hike.

Fantastic trail for running before or after work with beautiful views during a good part of the loop. Most of it is wide and not technical, but you’ll share it with mountain bikers as well, so keep that in mind and be alert.

Went in summer so it was 90° hot and the waterfalls were quite lacking in water. Still overall pretty interesting hike.

Was there early September 2018 and there was no waterfall at the triple fall. It was all dried up. Overall, the hike was fairly easy.

Santa Rosa trail is currently severely overgrow with dried plants. In some areas over 6ft high. Use caution.

Started in the parking lot - went to the right// uphill switch backs that opened up at the top to lots of wide trails towards the dam it switched back to the switchback- mostly shade. Was fun to do with Kona the trailblazer.

Love it! Great for a quick trail run with a good elevation workout and lots of shade! Parking is super convenient and free!

It is a short sweet hike with a lot of elevation gain. Love it

We went there with our dog. It was pretty difficult for us... first part of the trail without shade, so it was very hot, also was very noisy since you walk near the road. The second part was more shady (we also saw a snack). Next to the creek it’s really nice and there are some places where you can get closer and get inside the creek. Overall it was nice.

A great trail to do with a steep incline. Shaded in some areas, really nice neighborhood to walk in.

Is only 4 miles hike, but steep. Very nice. Will be back springtime when the falls are fuller.

Went there with my dog. We arrived very early on a weekday so we had no trouble finding parking. Morning sun was not too hot so we were fine even though there’s not too much shade. We made a detour to Hunter’s Point and the view from there ‘s wonderful!

Did this trail twice, turned back around where there’s a little bridge and a bench on the Tony Look Trail. Took my dog with me both times. Be ware of ticks! My dog got a tick the first time but he didn’t get anything after I sprayed him down with tick prevention spray the second time. It’s a nice trail! My dog loves it there. Only “bad” thing is you have to pay for parking.... but there are always spots!

Great trail, good shade, moderate, good for dogs on short leash (shared with mountain bikers).

Not a bad trail, but not a lot of shade for pets and lots of bikers passing on a narrow trail.

We started at 6:45 am and got done before it became too hot. Good hike for starters - not much elevation. Distance may not be comfortable for kids or dogs.

The waterfall trail is absolutely gorgeous.

Multiple waterfalls, lots of shade, dog-friendly, easy loop, not crowded: what's not to like? No permit was required for hiking as this was after 6/30.

Running it counter clockwise makes all the uphill climbs in the shade!
