I enjoy Otter Falls on a regular basis. Our dogs love to roam around with us crossing the water and trekking the trails.

Great easy walk for the family. Clean and heated bathrooms were a plus.

First trail after knee surgery and a heart attack. I made it up to the Chimney Point.

Not as great as we were expecting. The trail is more of a short walk than a true hike. Very crowded and heavily trafficked.

Excellent loop with dogs who like to do a little swimming and mud-bogging. Terrain was moderate and lots of shade. Ideal hike for a fall afternoon. The lake and mountains in the distance were beautiful and we crossed over to check out the dam at the end. Nice spot!

Beautiful views, but lots of tourists. Easy walk to each site.

Loved this! I especially loved the multiple trails you can choose to go around the waterfall. Saw some really pretty spots. Recommended. Went in the morning with fresh crisp air and it was amazing.

Really short hike from the parking area. Good view at the overlook.

Never made it to Wisemans View Rd. If you don't have four wheel drive I wouldn't try it. Got about halfway and hit a uphill spot with loose sand and gravel. My vehicle decided it was not going to make it up that hill. Had to back into a camping spot to turn around. Saw quite a few suvs and a jeep that had also turned around.

Loved it!! Took about an hour round trip including a lot of time spent at the four different overlooks. Amazing views of Linville Falls, Linville Gorge, and the chimneys. The trail is very easy and clear, would definitely do again!!! It’s actually 0.9 miles one way, so almost 2 miles total.

Great, well groomed carriage road leading up through pastures and rolling hills to the observation tower. The views to the east and north are very pretty. Perfect for solo, couples, families, children, dogs, horses, etc

It’s worth it remember to see both sides of the falls! Then head to the North Carolina rock museum place up st Kings overland !!!! Learn about the geology of Linville!

Easy and beautiful hike! Because of that combo, there were crowds of people but we were still able to enjoy the views and take some pictures. Would like to hike on to Jane Bald next time!

Beautiful views!

Nice views. Very easy trail.

Fairly easy well maintained trail with a
beautiful meadow part way up. All inclined up to the tower, nice views across meadow and up near top on switchbacks. Very windy, tighten your hats.

This hike was pretty and the waterfall was beautiful. There are several places where you can easily access the water and my toddler was able to play. The footing is slick and muddy and the descent is steep. Not the best hike for small children or anyone with knee troubles.

We love this trail. It has beautiful views. Great footing. It’s decently trafficked even in the winter so I never get creeped out hiking alone with my toddler.

Short and sweet with several beautiful falls down gorge.

This place is awesome! Best view!!! You can hike all along the gorge and catch overlooks every 1/4 mile or so. No cost to get in and lightly trafficked. Road to get there is a little rough so don’t bring a little compact car like we did the first time.

Great walking trail. Easy, flat and semi smooth trail. Perfect for a walk with our lab. Enjoyed the walk. Hoping in the future to fish the lake.

Super easy and stunning views

We are pretty sure we saw a bobcat in the meadow on our last hike. It had all the right features -black ears, tawny body, about 2’ high. They sometimes hunt in the daytime. It was disappearing into a thicket as we glimpsed it.

Great trip! Lots of beautiful scenery without being overly strenuous. Excellent for taking pics and for getting so exercise. My friend and I both have some injuries but were able to complete this hike without any problems. It's only an hour from my house, so I will definitely be doing it again!!

Love this trail! Any time we're in the Blowing Rock area, this trail is on the must-do list. It's long, but gradually sloping - well-maintained and wide enough to share with others on foot or horseback. The meadow is gorgeous - during the summer months, it is full of milkweed and butterflies. Views of the surrounding mountains are excellent. From the meadow to the tower, it's a nice walk with switchbacks and plenty of flowers. Any of the Cone trails are worth doing!

Could you ask for a more beautiful ~1 mile route to walk or run? I don't think so. The path is crushed gravel and relatively even - the views are stunning, even in the fog. Absolute heaven.

Easy out and back. Extended hike by following signage to Linn Cove.
