The trail is relatively short and not too challenging, and has a lot of great views of the waterfall, which was much bigger in person than I expected. Be sure to keep an eye out for trail offshoots that lead closer to the falls for even better views (we found one that put us literally right next to it).

Beautiful views of the water falls. Most of trail covered by trees. Extreme solitude. Multiple options for trail lengths. Rough and slippery terrain.

Lots of switchbacks but still pretty steep. Fairly difficult but the view is worth it.

Climbed Table Rock on 1/9/19 with future son in law Jim. Try to climb early January each year to get the year off right. Cold but sunny day. Temp in mid 40s.
Love the climb. Strenuous is correct Well worth the view.

Must do super easy to follow simple trail. Amazing views in the winter when it is covered by snow. Almost empty when we did it.

Kinda sketchy drive to the waterfall but totally worth it. This is an easy and short trail. Was completely empty when we visited. The view is espectacular and you might be tempted to jump off the water fall. Please do not do that read the signs there have been fatal accidents at this location. Enjoy the view enjoy the sounds that should be enough !!

Great hike. You will cross streams to wear waterproof shoes

Not strenuous at all, but a nice wide, relatively flat walk along the riverside with smaller falls appearing first and then a beautiful high set of falls at the end of mile. Take your mom.

The ranger was not exaggerating the amount of steps and elevation gain that are involved in this hike but as promised it has some great views. If you have knee hip or ankle issues be prepared for lots of uneven steps maybe consider using poles. We hiked this after a lot of rain so the trail was fairly muddy. No shortage of waterfalls to see on the way up. Lots of large boulders to stop and take a break. For SC this is a great option if you are looking for a challenge. Overall great hike.

It was a bit rainy when we went but that just made the waterfall look even more spectacular. Great view of Rainbow Falls, didn't go all the way to Turtleback because we had the dogs with us and they weren't really behaving well that day but would love to go back!

Wonderful place! You can swim, fish, hike and more. I definitely recommend this place.

A fun hike. A bit muddy but we enjoyed it. Kids did better than myself who slipped a few times. There's a small river to go through...seemed a lot didn't realize this. Wear proper hiking shoes or an extra set.

Waterfall was really nice and tucked away. A bit crowded for a few moments. Overall a cool hike.

Worth the visit. Very well kept and friendly folks around. Waterfalls are amazing. Would definitely come back for another run.

May be better for bicycles and horses than hikers. The man made lake is usually low and not very appealing to the naturalist. Great for exercise rather than forest bathing.

Great little nature walk with the kids. Beautiful falls.

Excellent day on the blue ridge

Loved this hike. We started with HQ, which was a much quieter trail with a steady incline. The falls were much more crowded but beautiful. It was a great workout - lots of steep stairs. Watch out for slippery steps and mud, especially if you go after it’s been raining. The whole loop took us under 3 hrs.

Stumbled onto this hike because the one we wanted to do was closed. Beautiful falls and river. Long steady climb almost the entire way. Last .25 mile was straight up, not as steep as Brasstown Bald but close. Overlook at the Pulpit was awesome. Don't forget to stop along the way and see the views on both sides of the ridge. Poles very helpful. Pretty wet and muddy in areas due to higher than normal rainfall in Dec. Parts of the trail are quite narrow. Not much level or flat hiking. Will do this again and bring our hiking pals.

Great place to take the family for hiking, fishing or just having a picnic.

View at the top is worth it! Very muddy right now, and our watches showed 3 miles each way

Great hike with beautiful views!

This trail is no joke. It is very strenuous, even for well-seasoned hikers. The view and the feeling you'll get from finishing are worth it!

Dear lord this was a hard trail. Me and my two best friends went camping together and we spontaneously decided to do this trail for some reason. The whole thing is pretty much uphill but the view... my god the view was incredible at the top. It was so breathtaking it made the whole hike worth it. Just a note: the three of us are not in peak physical condition. I’m moderately fit but have hypoglycemia and a syncope problem, one friend has asthma and hypoglycemia but she runs frequently, and the second friend just casually works out. It took a while to go up and down this monster but we managed it.

Love this hike. The waterfalls are some of my favorites in North Carolina. Be careful on the slippery stairs though.

Brutal but worth it!

Great, easy hike. Beautiful the whole way. My kids love going there. However there are lots of snakes in the summer

Great trail with amazing views! The trail starts you off on a ridge line. Take the first .3 mile spur for a fantastic view of Whiterock mtn. Once back on the main trail it will lead you through a tunnel of Rhododendron down to Whiterock gap. Keep on hiking for a big payoff. There will be a second .3 mile spur that leads you to an amazing lookout on the top of Whiterock mtn.
We did this hike with 3 kids in January (no snow or ice at the time). It was not very difficult. Trail is well maintained and marked.
Just drive a little further up the servoce road that Alltrails takes you. You will then see a sign on your right (Bartram Trail). Follow that road for 2 more miles and you will het to a parking area with a trail map. When facing the map take the trail access to your right.
If you like big views without a lot of other people then this is the trail for you.

I recommend hiking up the natural path, and then going down the gravel path.

Easy trail with great panoramic views at top
