Very short but really three options for hikes, one that’s rather steep but takes you to a breathtaking overlook of the river gorge and countryside. Great if you have an hour or two, before river activities.

If you enjoy adventurous woodland paths, this is not for you. It was like visiting a farm where they'd used a large mower and had mown paths without any real destination in mind from field to field, then put up an outdoor center, and called those paths, "trails". There are no markers, so you may want to use a map or GPS and bring water on hot days. There is no water around, except the river, which is not accessible or humans or dogs.

Surprisingly short and steep, with a remarkable view of the Harpeth River. imho it's too easily accessible. Would do it again if in the area.

Overall, good hike. Only thing like it in the Boro. The main trail - Marshall Knobbs - is less than 3 miles... you have to take BOTH side trails; Valley View and Rocky Path - to get it over 4- close to 5.

I’ve never been disappointed with my time on this trail. It can get busy and parking is difficult @ times. Don’t let it scare you; be patient - it’s worth the wait!

Hiked this entire loop counterclockwise. River was gorgeous and shallow enough to wide to the opposite side for a hammock nap! Valley View trail was the typical walk in the woods. After a wrong turn we ended up cliff side US-231. My favorite on this loop was the Rocky Path trail, appropriately named. Most challenging and fun part of the hike. Much like a typical South Cumberland trail.
Would highly recommend this trail if you’re in the area. After a couple wrong turns we clocked 5.51 miles. Nice way to spend a Saturday afternoon!

I’ve been coming here since I was a kid 28 years now this is the nicest park there is. Always a ton of wildlife out I’m glad they have the rules they have there it keeps things nice. Parking is difficult if you go on the weekends but besides that no complaints.

This trail has strict rules. No running very little view of the lake the first half. So many people was just very disappointed. The park was nice just limited. Won’t go back

gorgeous view and fun water hole to play in

Not the right map/distance/elevation/etc. for the trail here. The map only takes you around the park/parking lot. The real trail is farther back. We walked some of it but had no idea how far it went or where it led so decided to turn around. Nothing is marked other than a picture of the trail at the park. Discouraging.

Great hike if living in the Nashville area. I enjoy it because it's easily accessible after a day at the office and can get some good incline along with miles without it being too far outside the city. I recommend bringing hiking poles. There are some steep areas and the poles make it nice. I hiked it during dusk and you see all sorts of wildlife at that time.

This trail was awesome. Short and sweet, has cool rock formations and a cool little history behind the lake. This honestly felt like moderate difficulty to me, though. The trails aren’t super well marked but it’s still not that difficult to get around.

It was a nice change of scenery just outside of Nashville. Lots of trail runners. The terrain is fairly rocky with occasional smooth dirt coverage. Fairly maintained trail with good shade. I found this to be a pretty strenuous hike, took 2.5 hours to complete loop taking a water break every couple miles. 6.2 miles total in and out.

Great hike. Make sure to take the Rocky Path for more of a challenge.

Not a lot of elevation. Really nice around Mile 5 and 6. Spiders. EVERYWHERE. Glad I did it once, but definitely a one and done experience.

great trail. it has a 4 mile option and a 5 mile option. both are loops you can also combine them for about an 8 mile hike. BEAUTIFUL scenery well marked and good amount of traffic. I drive over an hr to get to this trail and it's worth every min.

Very enjoyable with such varied terrain. Lots of trail traffic but everyone was very nice and enjoying the morning temperatures. Hats off to those running the trail.

Beautiful trail!

Such a pretty trail to display the park. We had fun, but I highly recommend picking up a stick as you begin to swipe away the spider webs. They run across the trail and are hard to see sometimes. Not so bad if you aren’t the first one hiking thru for the day, but just a suggestion. This hike will take up a good part of your day. We walked and stopped a few times and clocked about 5 hours.

My home trail. It’s a nice, quiet trail with several connecting trails you can use to cut the hike short or make it longer.

Wonderful. I’ll definitely be back soon.

Great trail that I would rate as intermediate. Some of the Rocky Path section were a little above beginner.
I will make this hike again!

Great trail for running if you're looking for something more mellow without steep gains. If you park at the Couchville Lake parking lot, you can make the run a good out-and-back for 15ish miles.

Perfect trail for a long meandering in the woods. A few portions of the trail follow a clearing under power lines. Only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. Other trails connect to keep you busy for a while.

Did this today.. Wasn't bad, little wet and slippery on the rocks at times. would do again.

Love this loop for trail running, but the spider webs get a little outrageous, especially when starting early. Last time I went running (arrived at 7am), I ran through at least 50 large webs that kind of hindered the experience, but I'll definitely be back in the future (probably when it's colder, though).

Diverse well marked and worn Plateau trail.

This short trail is so relaxing and has wonderful views at highest elevation.

Incredible views
