Great trail for kids. Well marked and maintained trails with pretty scenery.

Fairly moderate trail with some steep inclines. We enjoyed the dense tree growth towards the top. Different hike, but a good work out. Beautiful views of the lakes.

Great hike! Elevation gain on my gps said 1,846. A bit more than what AllTrails had. My 11 yo loved this hike and we all had fun! Very heavily trafficked. Recommend and early arrival to get a parking spot.

Hiked up with my parents who are inexperienced hikers. One used trecking poles. This was my second time doing this hike and I really enjoy the views at the top.

First time going, theres a couple different parking spots with trail heads, but we chose to park at the lot at the bottom of Mt. Agamenticus look out [I believe you can drive to the top and park up there as well]. BEWARE of the bathrooms. My friend used the one at the bottom of the hill - No lights and poop all over the seat. Some trails are beginner friendly where others I'd rate moderate. We hiked to all 3 mountains; the first being the one with an actual view [if it's not foggy]. The second has no view but still has a sign labeling it Second Hill [LOTS of ants all over the rocks] and the Third One isn't even marked so we walked right past it [after taking Third Hill trail which actually ended up being a longer way - Easily could of took Ledge trail and been there sooner lol]. By the time we realized we had passed it we already had been hiking over 2.5 hours in the heat and was getting eaten alive by bugs [Yes, we put bug spray on before hand, but must've sweated it off] so we decided not to turn around. We thought we'd take the short way back, but ended up at Old Mountain Road. Used our "Maps" app on our phone to navigate the remaining 1+ mile walk back [on the road] to the car. Took us 3 hours to hike 4.35 miles.

Beautiful trail. The lake and trail that loops it are worth the climb. Be sure to check out Lonesome Lake Hut! There are bathrooms there and places to change if you want to swim!

This is a really nice hike in Franconia. Although the incline is steep at parts, it levels off shortly after. Definitely less strenuous than the trails up the ridge across the highway.

At the lake is a lovely dock that gives views to Franconia Ridge and Cannon. This is a great place to stop for lunch. Curious and friendly resident ducks on the lake may come up to you, but don’t feed them! They are fun to watch though.

It can get a bit muddy around the lake, but bog bridges help mitigate that.

I took the Dodge Cutoff Trail back down. It was less developed than the LL trail up. No staircases on Dodge. Less people though. I’d recommend going back down the way you came though.

Really nice hike, a good way to pass a few hours.

This loop totaled out at 5.7 miles rather than 4.7. We took the Morgan trail up and followed the loop clockwise to the Percival trail.

Coming down the Percival trail is steep and very rocky, and might be better described as a Harder trail for some folks.

Overall, a great hike with some great payoff views of Squam Lake and the surrounding mountains, but not one to sneeze at.

beautiful trail. easy to navigate

short and sweet. steep in areas but its a short hike so its not bad and view of echo lake is nice. for those who like hiking sticks this is a good trail for one. my son was only 4 and daughter 8. They did it and loved it.

great, nicely maintained trail. The whole area is nice epecially for it's location near the shore. it's worth a visit and if you don't won't to climb to the top you can drive there still with access to all the other trails.

Great hike. Maps posted to help. Some confusion with the cross trails but stayed on the perimeter trail primarily. Biggest issue were the mosquitoes! Everywhere! I could not stop walking or risk the onslaught. Had to keep moving!

We started the trail via Frankenstein Cliffs which was a pretty steep incline but happy we got the hardest part over with in the beginning of the trail. There were very few people on the Cliff trail but once we got closer to the falls, there were many more- a little too busy to my taste. But all in all, a very beautiful 5 mike hike from start to finish and a great workout. It took us 4 hours but we stopped and picnicked by the smaller falls.

Amazing view at Summitt

Tough uphill, a little muddy at the top. Nice views.

Nice, quick hike with tons of roots and mud along the way. The waterfall was beautiful! This trail is between easy/moderate, mostly for the quick elevation gain and small parts with climbing. Not bad, but watch your kids on the narrow parts.

This is a great hike for a family. The walk through the gorge is really beautiful. The way back around you get a couple nice views of mountains and the cliffs/pool. It wasnt busy when I was there. If you have little ones, do not bring a stroller. It is def not friendly up the gorge. The walkways add adventure to the hike itself.

Very good small hike. Has it all!

Fun family trip with just the right mix of fun and challenge. Some steep and rocky parts but nothing too tough. I saw people of all ages - from young families with parents carrying babies in packs, to teens and seniors. Nice brook running up the side of the trail at some parts. Nice view st the summit. Can be a bit busy - not the trail you want if you prefer solitude. Well marked. Done with a 10 and 12 yr old, and 4 month old puppy. Nice canopy of trees to shine away the elements.

We did this with our two children age 3.5 and 5.5 y and it was a big success. The young one was in my back for the first half and then he wanted to climb on his own. It was a lot of fun. I recommend this trail for any family with minimum experience. Hiking boots are a plus since some sections are somewhat rocky.

Great trail, mostly easy but with some more challenging spots that make it fun. Amazing views at the top; I definitely need to bring my camera next time! Please be prepared to bring your trash out with you; keep NH trails beautiful!

A pleasant hike. Previous reviews are correct, rocky terrain early on, and great views of the lakes near the summit. Recent rains made the early trail section muddy and buggy, but not enough to be a consideration.
