Nice, short hike. The views are awesome.

Nice and quick hike up with some beautiful views at the top.

Beautiful trail and views! Very steep in some sections. There’s a sign just up the trail a bit which has a map showing a simple trail system, but it seemed there was only one “official” trail. Maybe that’s part of the trail restoration happening. I went later in the day and was the only person out there.

This trail is pretty busy and there are are power lines everywhere. Looking for something more naturey.

The views are just stunning. And the trail is well supported with handrails and rock walls so it’s doable even for someone like myself who’s not great with heights. I’d suggest doing it in the early evening, to avoid the worst of the crowds. We were there about 6pm on a weekday during late June and there were still lots of people on the trail, but not too many.

This was a great day hike but I’d definitely recommend an early start to avoid the worst of the heat if you’re doing it in Summer, as more than half of the trail is in the full sun. We were prepared with plenty of water (2L per person for us), sunscreen, and insect repellent. Despite the heat we were both wearing long pants, which I would definitely recommend because of the scratchy burrs that kept attaching themselves to my pants (and would otherwise have been scratching my legs). It took us about 2 hours each way. It’s almost all uphill on the way in and then almost all downhill on the way out, which is exactly how I like to hike :-) We saw a deer on the trail, and some hikers behind us also saw a rattlesnake. Some parts of the trail require caution, for example at some parts near the falls the trail is eroding away a bit, and on those bits I’d rate it as hard, not just moderate. But overall we really enjoyed this hike.

I went through the whole loop - throughthe “closed area” and back down. Watch out for the poison oak on the south part of the trail. Definitely wear real hiking boots/shoes for this trail. The path is a bit eroded in parts and you’ll need the extra footing.

Pros:
- Great views of the valleys and trees.
- You can hear the river/falls for probably half the trail.
- Not very crowded.
- Plenty of shaded resting areas at the end of the trail.
- Great for a day hike.

Cons:
- The trail is very narrow. It's difficult to pass people coming the opposite direction.
- Plants are growing into the trail, and if you're wearing shorts, you will get scratched up.
- I would not recommend this in the summer! I went yesterday and it was way too hot. At least half the trail does not have shade. Because of the heat, there were a decent amount of bugs. I stood under the mini waterfall at the end to cool off, and it was so hot that I was completely dry in about 20 minutes. I hiked this trail last November too, and enjoyed it much better then.

not long but amazing views on the way to the top!

Beautiful and worth the effort!

Nice bit of engineering to create a path to the top. But views are meh!

My least favorite hike ever. Little to no shade along the trail. The trail is incredibly narrow and hugged a cliff. Spider and who knows what else infested bushes that rub up against your leg. We probably only made it about a mile before bolting back to our car. Two of our friends made it to the end and they did not seem to enjoy it either. They said the waterfall wasn’t worth it. If you do decide to do it, bring a LOT of water because it can get hot there (especially in the summer). I wouldn’t waste your time on this one. There are so many other amazing hikes in Sequoia! We hiked it July 2017.

I did it for the first time when the trail re-opened in April- all of the wildflowers were in bloom and everything was as green as it gets! The day was clear and the view was spectacular. It’s an easy walk through the canyon for the first mile and some, and then a steep climb to the peak, but so worth it.

I went again a couple of weeks ago and it was foggy at the top but it cleared up on our way down.

Wear layers for the unpredictable weather and long pants- the upper part of the trail is overgrown and it’s a tick area!

Tough trail but worth the effort for the $1m views throughout. So many amazing wild flowers, rolling hills, and views of the Pacific.

Did the loop despite the one portion being “closed”. Totally accessible if not just a little overgrown. No real hazards.

A little heavy breathing for someone who doesn’t get to hike as often as I’d like. So worth the effort to the top! Despite the height, felt safe with the railing and design of steps with grooves in places for better traction. A little narrow in spots, so need to let groups by when ascending or descending. Created good opportunities to catch your breath though.

Such a beautiful uphill hike! Not long at all. Highly recommend. The view at the top is worth all the heavy breathing!

good all around trail but the view can get foggy

Moderate hike with mild elevation gain. The hike is mostly on a narrow trail with dried pokey plants on either side. At times I had wished I had worn pants since my shins were rubbing up on all the plants. Meeting hikers can be semi frustrating when trying to get by one another on the trail. The trail has some nice views and I actually came across a deer having breakfast just off the path before it wondered off into the brush. I also came across a rattlesnake on my way back to camp when it was sunbathing in the 90 degree sun. Marble Falls is lovely and I had to put my sunglasses on because of the bright white reflecting back me. Not too many people in the morning probably due to the hot weather. The trail has some portions of shade but is mostly out in the sun but bring plenty of water if you are hiking this on a hot day. I brought my water filter so I could refill at the falls and dipped my shirt in the water to keep cool on my way back. I was completely dry by the time I was back at camp an hour and half later.

Really enjoyable hike, and gorgeous waterfalls throughout. Quite a bit of climbing, but most of it is using stairs and rocks that stand in well for stairs.

Such a beautiful hike. It’s has some good hills so be ready for that. But it is worth it!

Fantastic hike! The first incline to the tree at the top of the hill (you'll know what I'm talking about) is rough but it will get you geared for the rest of it. Kind of a steady incline to the peak with a few flat runs scattered. Beautiful views. I agree with the poison oak overgrowth at this time of year in the lower/starting areas so definately wear something that covers your arms and legs unless you're lucky enough to not have a poison oak allergy? A highly recommended hike, enjoy!

Short hike and lots of stairs. The majority of the hike is through super lush forest along a cute creek. There are some mosquitos tho so bring bug spray

What a view! Great hike

Great trail. Steep. Gets hot. Bring water

Really nice trail. Did meet a few people who attempted in flip-flops and sandles with no water - I would not advise!
The waterfalls at the end were every bit worth the walk up, and I also got to see a baby bear on the trail! Would recommend :)

We got there at 8:30am and parking was good. The views are really pretty and lots of change of scenery but a lot of the trial is overgrown. After about a mile there is a trail closure sign ...but we went anyways . It also gets really windy at the top. Overall it was a great/ challenging hike.

Incredible views from 1900 feet above sea-level. This trail is not for the faint hearted and will jack you up on the 2.5 mile incline and the 2 mile decline. This day we were above the fog at 1k feet but on our decline found the monterey bay in its spectacular glory. Wild flowers ate a bloom right now so it's a great time to hit this trail.

went early in the morning for this one, because it can get busy. pretty easy hike, with beautiful scenery. many wild flowers along the way. probably one of most beautiful water falls I have seen in California.

This is a beautiful hike, easy to moderate intensity. The view, once on top, is spectacular!!
