Great hike! Recommend doing Jordan Pond Loop counter clockwise. The rock scramble is fun, it’s less crowded because most people are starting the opposite way and you have amazing views straight out the gate. Once you’re at the top, you’ll see Bubble Rock then descent down the other side where you’ll have much more space and get rewarded with a shaded trail!!

Did the loop clockwise and ended up checking Bubble Divide (tough climb) - but ended up seeing Bubble rock and an awesome view of Jordan pond from up top.

Rather than coming back down the same path - suggest coming via Gorge path which was beautiful!

Went to the “bubble” only then retraced our way. Decided the steep side was a bit much for our 70+ selves. Nice hike. Nothing too treacherous. Had fog so no view but maybe just as well ... don’t do great with cliffs.

A short run through woodland floor gives way to a rocky scramble along the west shore of Eagle Lake, then a carpet of pine needles before you turn uphill to the rocky landings that give this trail part of its name. Challenging but not killer, there are fabulous vistas in every direction, even on a day when fog occasionally shrouded the high points. Well worth breaking a good sweat for this one!

Pretty straightforward hike to the top of Cadillac but we did it last Thanksgiving weekend we’re temps were in the low teens and boy was it cold out there. Caught a few flurries up top but definitely feel like we earned it as opposed to those who drove up to the top!

Great easy hike to get some awesome views of Acadia. We actually started the day off by climbing South Bubble right before tackling this loop and it didn’t add too much to the overall time or effort required.

Really pretty hike but trail markers were super confusing. Started on white trail, made our way to the visitor’s center and continued to the red trail. Were aiming to get back on the white trail but apparently there’s a regular white trail, and a white trail with blue dots as per the map. Both trails had plain white markers so we got a bit turned around. Found our way by back tracking a bit. A nice day nevertheless. Be aware of bees nests. Got stung in one area since I was unknowingly likely too close to a nest. Worth a visit!!

This is definitely more than 4 miles if you’re coming from the Blackwoods campground. Beautiful views on top...If you have a slightly overweight elderly dog-it might be a challenge. Our 8 year old Golden Retriever barely made it down. Overall-Amazing!

Trail was very safe for a sunrise hike. Started approximately 2 hours before sunrise time and took our time getting up. A moderately difficult, but looong hike. Parking is convenient and right by the trail head.

MY FAVORITE!! It’s so much fun to scramble up the rocky incline of South Bubble (The Legendary Bubble Rock is still there...keeping looking for it at the top!) - come down North Bubble side for a less taxing descent. Jordan pond loop couldn’t be more beautiful ...

This was the first leg of my third hike with my daughter and SIL and it definitely tested my endurance. We ascended to the Cadillac Summit and took the Gorge trail as the descent. I locked into the design pattern early on as it would present incline and then level ground which I thought was manageable. But the more we got into the trail, I thought the inclines became longer and steeper and the level ground seemed to disappear. My trusty staff was literally a God send as some thoughtful hiker left it at the beginning of the trail. Made it to the Summit which was a beautiful view and worth the sweat and grind up hill. The Cadillac Mtn North Ridge was no joke!!

Offers great scenic view of Acadia and the ocean. More or less no shade whatsoever. Involves some scrambling, but manageable (but trekking poles are helpful). Very nice trail, all in all.

I do not like heights so the climb down to the lake was a little frightening, but I still loved this hike! The route was well marked and we enjoyed the beautiful views coming down. Parking was very limited at 10am, so I recommend getting there early or take the park bus.

I'd consider myself to be fairly fit and this trail had me huffing and puffing scrambling up it. I entered the trail from the pond side and it was a steep rocky climb. If you have any fear of heights or vertigo do NOT hike up the pond side, as at one point you'll be fairly close to the edge of the mountain and pulling yourself up the rocks. Not for small kiddos and I don't see how anyone with a dog could climb that side. Once you reach the summit the views are spectacular and I did feel pretty good about the climb I'd just done but I was really happy to take the easy trail down!

Loved this trail and the views! Definitely lots of scrambling so be prepared. We only made it a little more than half way due to a large thunderstorm that popped up. We still had a beautiful view of the water and islands though!

Good views of the Bubbles and Sargent. A lot of walking on planks/boardwalks.

Nice views of the Bubbles and Sargent. Although, you are left with essentially the same view for the duration of the hike. There are some raised platform sections.

Trail not marked very well. Still a nice trail especially along the water.

I loved this hike for the scenery! Not difficult at all.

Very overgrown and lots of bugs but very beautiful! We had some trouble finding the 4 mile loop trail.

Short and steep trail with a spectacular payoff of views

Very nice hike with some scrabbling. Bring water and good shoes. Trail can be slippery with fog. Nice views.

Alternated between the red and white loop with a different starting point than marked on the map. The trails are relatively well maintained and there are a couple of nice findables (old pump house on lake, abandoned clubhouse) along the way. If you’re looking for picturesque views, this isn’t the trail for you, but it’s a nice well marked hike otherwise. Definitely a little more elevation than stated in the description.

Beautiful views! Beautiful sunlight. So many cars when arrived on top....

I mean the lake is beautiful. But the view doesn’t change the entire hike. It’s just a trail that goes around the circumference of the lake. On one side there are raised boardwalk planks that are only 2 boards wide in most points which makes it hard to fit by when people are going the opposite direction. Really boring hike.

Easy hike/walk around Jordan Pond. Parking was easy early in the morning, however was filling up by the time we finished. The lake views are wonderful with such clear water and the Bubbles in view. Heard the loons, but they kept out of sight.

Hadn’t planned on hiking this, but since it led back to where I parked ... was definitely better than walking on the Loop Road shoulder.

Felt like I was hiking back down forever. Great views though.
