Easy hike, tons of places to take the kids to play in the water. Awesome waterfall. Definitely a must see!

We did this hike on July 29th. This is an easy hike that our 3 year old can easily walk himself. Even though it’s a short hike, I still recommend bringing water. A great place to pack a picnic.

Pretty cool! Very simple easy walk. Perfect for kids, dogs, etc.

Totally too easy of a “hike” but very beautiful with the river and falls!

This trail is by far an absolute favorite. You can start going the backside or the front depending on where the sun, tide, and wind are and what kind of experience you want. The back is fantastic and quiet and picturesque and is nicely protected from the noise is the surf and the wind. A wonderful way to exercise and find great rocks!

The mountain biking is closer to moderate than easy but doable for our whole family and really fun! Warning...it’s a bit confusing following the trails but getting lost isn’t a big deal since it’s just a series of intertwining loops and connector trails. Anacortes bike shop has a detailed map (even though no one at the shop has actually mountain biked there). Cranberry lake is a beautiful little lake!

Beautiful hike. Well maintained "manicured" pathway that's friendly to visitors of all abilities including kids on strollers. Trail ends near the caves and many will go off the trail to get close at their own risk.

Up, up, and up. It seemed to never end. I have done longer hikes with more of an elevation gain, but this one hits you very fast and strong. Someone else suggested poles, I agree and wished I had brought mine.

Tamolitch Blue Pool 8/11/18

My group planned to arrive early to Blue Pool, but a fatality on Hwy 22 caused us to take a 2.5hr detour. We arrived way later than we wanted to. Parking was already out on the highway at 1:15pm. This hike is about 2 miles in and 2 miles out. It’s a fairly easy hike that is shaded most of the way. The scramble to get down to the Blue Pool is a bit trickier, but doable. Just take your time. We had a group of 10 and only 5 of us were brave enough to go into the 37 degree water. If you decide to go in or walk around barefoot, I highly recommend water shoes. The rocks were extremely painful on the souls of our feet. Lots of hornets by the water, so be careful. We only saw 2 people jump from the cliff. This is extremely dangerous as several people have died over the years. Since this was a warm August Saturday, it was crowded with hikers, mountain bikers, dogs and children. I definitely recommend going early, on a weekday or in the off-season. It was still a great hike with breathtaking views. The shades of blue are indescribable. There are restrooms at the trailhead of Blue Pool. Also, if this was too short of a hike for you, definitely piggyback Koosah Falls or Sahalie Falls with this one. We would have, but with our unexpected detour, we ran out of time and needed to make the long trek home. Happy Hiking!

Best friend and I did this in the cold of winter. Well worth it even during the cold. We went off the path and made our way around the pool. Absolutely beautiful.

This is an amazing site! Expect it to be really crowded but the pool is worth seeing! Also don’t expect to swim much, there’s a reason why all the pictures don’t have people in them! The water is almost ice. Pretty easy hike in! Follow all our adventures on Instagram @themicrotourists!

Great easy and comfortable hike on a very well maintained trail. Great trail for company who is not acclimated but wants a big payoff for the effort. The water was very cold but not unbearable and the hike down was not as bad as some post made it seem. Go around to the opposite side and the trail is very user friendly. The anticipation of the water is worse than the water itself. Very enjoyable, casual and non-taxing.

Neat, short trail. Decent little hike. Very public-friendly. Prone to crowds. Amazing views. Was very rainy before the holiday this year, but still well-worth the hike. LOTS of dogs

trail running

When I first moved to Washington in early 2017, I discovered the Sammamish River Trail located right behind my apartment.

This trail helped me to find my love for running and I was easily able to up my miles from 3 to 20. Since then, I've used it for running, biking and roller blading.

It's a nice long stretch of paved road alongside the river. It does get crowded in certain areas during spring/summer but everyone seems to be pretty respectful of space and staying to the right. During the cooler seasons, it's definitely not as busy and if you're lucky you may just see some Otters like I did :)

The coolest part about this trails that you can go from downtown Redmond to the library to 60 acres park, Woodinville, you pass the Tolt pipeline trail & PSE PowerLine trail, and then into Bothell where it connects you to the Burke Gilman trail... OR you can go to Marymoor Park and connect to the East Lake Sammamish Trail.

Well defined trail to the pool but more difficult to get down to the water. Totally worth the hike down.

Nice short hike, great view! Would do again!

2 stars because of the hype, the parking situation and the crowds. I thought this would be much more beautiful than advertised. It's basically an urban flat trail through the woods with a smallish waterfall at the end. Parking is insane! So many people. We kept going to Denny Creek for a longer hike. It's probably a nice small hike for families with little kids, but watch out for them going off trail (this is easy to do) and getting into the poison ivy or the devil's club.

Great easy hike! My 6 year old had no trouble going there and back and even we spent time "exploring" the edges of the ice caves for a few hours before heading back. No T-mobile cell service shortly after getting onto mountain loop highway. Our only complaint today were the aggressive flies near the end of trail near the ice caves.

The views from the trail were gorgeous the river is stunning! Super busy but it didn’t take from the stunning view and experience down at the base of the falls. We took wagon road trail back and didn’t see a single soul; the forest hike was wonderful!!

Hike really beautiful but a portion of trail overgrown, full if bandit trails which you can easily to get lost and some parts are dangerous. This hike made me almost uninstall this app.

We did this with the kids. They are 8 and 10. They loved it. We saw Bear skat and tons of fell trees. I suggest bringing bear spray or carry a bag of cayenne pepper just in case. The view is incredible!!! Great family hike!

Lovely evening walk 30 mins. in and 30 mins. out, the trail is so easy you could push your grandma in a wheel chair, well almost. Saw 3 people do it in flip flops. Berries available for snacking. Cave made it's own fog and it was visible at 8pm, very cool to see. Waterfalls are full and many. Lot's of downed trees in avalanche zone from a windstorm years back. LOVE this walk and nice picnic tables with a mountain view near first parking lot. Go late and avoid the crowds and enjoy the bird calls.

Swimming is perfect! Huckleberries, thimble berries and salmon berries snack bar is open. Twin Flowers line the trail and Alpine Meadow Groundsel fringes the lake (could someone please confirm identity)
Malo potholes, "if they drive straight they must be drunk", saying from Costa Rica applies.

Just stunning. Easy trail through beautiful trees and along the McKenzie River. I prefer the early hike. This one gets busy.

This was a BEAUTIFUL hike up to the caves with an even more beautiful finish. It was fairly easy if you’re well and able to hike at a small incline.

This is a beautiful trail that I introduce everyone to that visits me in Ocean Shores. The lake, the trees, and the occasional deer can create a mindful stroll or get people new to hiking excited about it. if you are in Ocean Shores I strongly encourage taking a walk in Weatherwax.

Yeah- the trail there is a little muddy right now but not that bad- enjoyed the beach. It wasn't as busy as Rialto but a bit longer to get to some of the rock formations. Still well worth it- And you will need a permit from the Makkahs

Great little hike hard on your vehicle's wonderful swim at the lake much warmer than I thought it would be!

super easy hike with beautiful falls at the end, great on a hot day with kids.
