Went in early November, it was wet but very doable. We did the whole loop. This time of year it wasn’t crowded at all, and it was really nice. I’d heard about this hike for years, but never went. I’m so glad that I finally did!!

My husband and I set out to hike a couple of miles, and ended up hiking the entire 8.7 miles. Beautiful day, nice maintained trail. Will definitely go again.

10/27 - no snow on the trail or surrounding peaks. Well maintained and no obstructions on main route. Circumnavigation of the lake is possible but not well marked; steep, muddy and poor footing in places. The drive out through Murray and along the river was beautiful. Plan enough time for breakfast at Snake Pit or lunch and beers in Wallace.

This isn’t really a hike. Yes there’s a trail but all the ones people are talking about aren’t official trails and have resulted in multiple deaths over the years as they aren’t maintained/are very worn away. The falls are beautiful and worth driving to/checking out...but don’t expect a hike and realize if you hike down to the water or behind the falls that you are off trail. This area really needs more rangers/officials to stop all the illegal activity.

Awesome!! Cold but was amazing.

Hiked with my mom a couple weeks ago. She is 64 and in fantastic shape. It is more of a moderate-hard trail. Towards the top lots of large root steps and then long rocks to climb up. Little snow at the top was no problem. Great hike but minimal views due to thick trees. Overall for people who hike a lot, we agreed it’s more on the “hard” side.

Amazing views along most of the trail. The 360 degree view at the top is stunning and well worth the trip.

Love this hike! So beautiful!

We loved this area and will definitely be back! There was a mama moose with two young, so we turned around and went the opposite way. Uphill for a lot of it, but fun and beautiful nonetheless.

We parked at the Sargent ave lot and there was broken glass everywhere at the trailhead. There was also trash (literally busted open bags on bags). We did a mile long loop and basically had no idea where we were going the whole time due to poorly marked trails. There was also an off leash dog wandering pretty far from its owner and kept storming up on our leashed dog. You can also hear the highways clear as day. Although the landscape and view is pretty, this park needs some serious TLC.

(10.6.18) We followed the GPS to a closed gate that we are assuming is closed do to logging in that area.

One of my favorites. It’s 8.8 miles round trip.

Stunning hike!! Maps took us a little off course. When you get into Clark-Fork, take Main road and just follow it all the way up. It’s mostly unmarked but at one point it looked like Mosquito creek road/university road. Follow it all the way up and there’s a tiny sign on the left side of the road that said Trail 65 with an arrow pointing right. Take that right turn and follow that road. You’ll see two more very subtle signs that look like ‘65’ mile markers. Follow those and you’ll be at the trail! Round trip was a little over 8 Miles. We only saw one goat and there was no snow yet. It was beautiful! We were told to come back in August when the goats are everywhere. Definitely a perfect fall hike!

great quick hike. my 5 yr old daughter has no troubles on any of the trails, and trails are well defined. we go here often!

This trail has amazing views! We went on a clear, sunny day and was astonished at how much of the valley we could see. The hiking trail is very well-maintained and there is no way you could get lost. When you get to the top it is very windy and cold. I would suggest packing a puff coat in your pack to put on, also having gloves and a hat would be nice. The trail is not very technical but it is a steady incline.
Getting to the trail head however, was a little bit confusing. Once you hit the dirt road just keep looking for the little signs that say trail 65. If you follow those signs you will dead end at the trail head. You go quite a ways on dirt road.
I will definitely make this hike an annual trip!

Nice easy trail thru the woods. It is muddy early spring, but great later in the season. Plenty of wildlife signs. Watch out for bear and moose in this area.

This was my first mountain trail. I probably bit off a little more than I should have as a novice, but I made it. It’s such a beautiful place and I highly recommend. I would think this should be listed as hard though. There are a lot of loose rocks and the trail was pretty hard, even some areas where you have to climb over some boulders. There’s a great view about a half mile down from the top, and the rest of the trail is pretty difficult. The lake at the top is really beautiful, just nestled in the mountain! Overall a great time and a worthwhile challenge.

Did this last Saturday. Could not believe there was snow on the trail. Beautiful hike. Great reflections on the lake

My Birthday hike. Beautiful day,
good solid incline. Little dicey on top near the edge for me but a nice challenge. Fun rock scrambles and beautiful views!
For a rookie a decent accomplishment. Don't feed the goats! Don't feed your fears. Enjoy!

I love trails that end in water. climb the Rock!

Slice of heaven.

This trail is about 9.6 starting from the liberty lake parking lot. It’s fairly flat except for about a mile with switch backs leading up to the cabin. The trail is very well groomed. If you’re going for the views, be aware there is really only one good ‘lookout’ type view, and no noticeable submit, just the cabin at the end of the trail. We did this trail early October, and the fall foliage was beautiful but overall I would describe this trail as anticlimactic.

This is a gorgeous trail and my favorite for bringing new hikers or backpackers to. The scenery is great with lots of visual changes throughout.

This hike is tough. I’ve done it twice. The second time felt harder than a few years ago and I believe it’s simply because I hadn’t done as many smaller, but incline heavy hikes. It’s steep. I see people say any shoe will work. I would suggest good hiking shoes and socks. I instantly got blisters on my heel from the stepping up of inclines. All being said- it’s beautiful. Awesome views. Well marked trail. We dropped about 20 degrees once we hit the top- take a jacket! Good for dogs (on a leash). I probably wouldn’t recommend this to people who don’t like a tough, rewarding workout hike. No goats seen on our trip.

Great hike. My gps says it’s closer to 7 mi. round trip. Always beautiful.
