Last day of Nov and the trail is a combination of ice, snow, mud and water. Much wetter than I anticipated. Slippery in spots. Nice views of the cliffs and several waterfalls. No one else on trail and no fresh tracks.

Fun loop!!! Such a beautiful hike!

loved this trail

great trail and pretty views

AMAZING! I didn't know Lake Superior was so beautiful. We did the loop in early September and went counterclockwise. The beach was great. Trail was busy but thinned out toward the end. Lots of look-outs. Mosquito falls was muddy but fun. We stayed in Munising hiking for a week and I think I only got 2 mosquito bites the whole time. I would say moderate is accurate for this trail. Took 5 hours to do the trail and that's including an hour stop at the beach for lunch. 100% would recommend this hike.

The construction is complete and the hike is easy. Beautiful views of the falls and canyon. There is also an access trail to the North Country Trail off the path to the falls. It is well marked.

worth the trip

Without a question, probably one of the best hikes in Michigan. Super easy trail to follow and the colors were still amazing.

This trail is beautiful. We hiked this trail on October 5 and there was quite a bit of fall color. There were no bugs at all and the weather was a little chilly, but not too bad overall. On the chapel trail there were a few parts where it was muddy, but it was not too difficult. However, the mosquito trail portion seemed to be mostly mud and water. There had been a storm the day before, so that definitely made everything wetter. It took us about five hours to finish the loop and the views along the rocks are not to be missed. Chapel rock and Beach were two of our favorites especially when you have a little bit of fall color on top of the rocks. There were not too many people on the trail and it was very peaceful. At times it was completely silent, which was a little spooky :) Overall I would highly recommend this trail, but make sure you have good waterproof boots!

Absolutely a gorgeous hike in the fall. With plenty of places to stop and take pictures, catch your breath from the hills or just the beauty, I’d say give yourself a good 7-8 hours to hike this trail. Keep an eye on weather leading up to your trip because plenty of low lying spots get muddy. Temps can vary, coastal temps are much cooler than inland so wear layers. No wildlife was seen but plenty of people. Only serious hikers should attempt the loop, most regulars turn back at he beach so it will be quiet and lonely walking the cliffs to mosquito falls. Enjoy the peace and solitude this trail brings. Quite a special Michigan adventure!

I went from Mosquito around to chapel. Very picturesque. I got confused a couple time where the trail wasnt marked well. But hey!! I made it out !!

The good part of the trail was under construction so you couldn’t see anything. I’m sure it’s cool when it’s open

Amazing hike but with the side hikes for the views ended up being 12 miles. Was worth every step. Truly amazing

Excellent trail. Stop and see the shipwreck, lots of good rock hunting. The light house was nice and the trail beyond was beautiful.

Had a lot of rainfall the day I went and the falls were powerful! Beautiful to see!

I hiked this trail just last Sunday! It was absolutely the best trail, ever!!! The views were gorgeous, the trail was well-marked, etc. I cannot say enough good about this trail...it’s simply a “must do!” Happy hiking!!! :)

Oh! And the bugs....there weren’t any!!

Probably the best falls in Munising, next to Minors falls. Sort walk to get there, a little rooted but not bad.

falls are definitely something to see. very nice trail.

Easy out and back worth the effort.

Nice falls, easy to get to and not to many people in the morning.

We took our baby and this was a nice comfortable hike with her in a carrier. Not stroller friendly due to many stairs. Pretty waterfall.

Nice quick trail from parkway my lot to viewing stand. Trail is wide smooth and well maintained. Not very view of the waterfall from the lower platform

Great trail and super-fun climb past the viewing platform to stand at the bottom of the falls and feel the mist!

Very nice easy hike. The trail is an access road to the light house from the parking lot. It is sand and gravel with some potholes that fill up when it rains. The sign says no pets but we ignored it because there’s another sign that says dogs allowed if on a road. The lighthouse museum is open during the summer staffed by volunteers. We met a nice retired lady from Whitehall Michigan. I think it’s only open wed thru sat. But I’m not sure. Some ice views of the waves from the trail.

beautiful fall and love to feel the mist when stand front of the fall

Easy trail to very nice waterfalls. They were constructing a staircase to the bottom of the falls when we were there (8/29/18).

We hiked this loop trail today. Started at 9am and finished at 330. Beautiful views of the cliffs and crashing waves. Majestic walks through the woods with beautiful birch trees arching overhead. We went left from the parking lot and saw mosequito falls. Got to the water and looked over the cliffs about 11am. So many majestic views walking along the cliffs. Had lunch sitting on Indian head cliff. We had originally planned to continue up to spray falls. But we were too tired and it would have added 3 miles out and back. So we skipped it and went to chapel falls and made it back in about 6.5 hrs. It was a perfect hike. Just be sure to bring a lot of bug repellant and water.
