The hike is okay. The 'castle' ruins are really neat!

Happy 100th Anniversary Denver Water! Hello CT Segment 1! I'll be back for more when the cooler weather starts setting in! My husband and I took our kids, 7 and 10, 3 miles through the canyon. We saw a REALLY big snake (either a Bull snake or a Rattle snake that just shed it's skin) cross the road in front of us. I would say it was about 3 feet long. We also saw some kind of small lizard and tons of birds. Bring your binoculars! Keep those kids on the trail and eyes peeled for snakes, especially just off the roadsides. This 'walk'/hike was a warm one for sure, but very mellow at the beginning. Would love to make it to the dam sometime.

Great hike. A little crowded on weekends but worth it.

Great combination of open field and shade from the trees. Path was well marked and the sand was good for the dogs. Not busy at all Sunday afternoon. Great easy trail.

cougar was sighted at base of grizzly drive after an evening hike. other than that trails are in great shape and the creek is running.

Great scenic trail. Seems crowded on weekends.

This was a great hike with versatile scenery. You had meadows, mountain views, walking in the woods, open area. We saw wild turkey. It wasn’t difficult nor too easy to hike. There were log benches scattered on the trail and easy signs to follow. Yes there is horse poop along the trails but just step aside. We went on a Sunday midday and there were people but not crowded. We plan to make this a regular one.

Challenging in some areas for novice hikers but overall a great place to hike!

Great hike!

Nice trail. Wide trail, good one to take the kids. Go early, very sunny, no shade. First mile or so is a gentle up hill. Beautiful rock formations! Close to Denver. Coyote trail is not clearly marked on the return, bring a map along.

It’s a great spot close to Lincoln Ave in Lone Tree. The view at the top where bench is located gives a panoramic view of the DTC and downtown Denver. This hike is well marked and has many wide areas. Watch out for the mountain bikers as they come down some of the inclines. It would be best to do this trail in the morning during the summer as there is minimal shade.

historic ruins, nice hike, good views. give it a go.

A nice easy/moderate hike that got my heart rate up reasonably well. Did most of the loop and encountered < 10 people @ 9AM on a Saturday

We loved this hike! The different terrain types ranging from the deep forest feel to the open, arid desert parts. It sprinkled briefly on our way back but didn’t ruin the experience. We also took the quick out and back on the scenic view trail to have some lunch and enjoy the views. The hike’s difficulty is accurate.

Nice well kept and well marked trail. Interesting scenery and views. Extremely easy. This seemed to be more of a bikers trail but they were all polite and had good trail etiquette.

The trails don’t have great signage and sometimes your not sure if the road your on is where you should be. I suggest if your going by yourself make sure you tell someone where your riding and make time for wrong turns. The climbs can be difficult at times depending on the erosion or root situation. All in all I love these trails. Lots of long climbs and equally Long descent. Wildlife can also be surprising. Lions, tigers, foxes, coyote, deer elk and bears to start with.

Decided to check this place out since it’s so close. We walked, I wouldn’t consider it hiking because it’s a gravel service road up to the dam. After about mile 3, the crowds thin out. Will definitely be back to bike. Views were pretty, saw herds of big horned sheep on the road and on the rocks above. Lots of people fly fishing.

fun as always.
as of today, there is no flowing water after the damn, it's dry

This has been our favorite trail so far. We hiked the entire path with our dog and sons (ages 7 & 9). The scenery was beautiful and the path was perfect. It wasn’t too hilly and very doable for kids. When you hit the split path sign, I definitely recommend taking the Stairway to Heaven. It added a little bit of distance but it was well worth the extra effort. Everything was very well-marked and there weren’t too many other people. Oh, but you do need to watch out for horse poop. We will definitely be returning to this trail.

Love this trail. The rock formations are beautiful.

Good area for a nice ride. This isn’t for adrenaline junkies as you are riding on a road. That said, it’s not a bad spot for a quick ride and a little exercise.

very boring crowded trail. wouldn’t travel for this one

Great workout with my pup. Uphill out & downhill back

Nice Trail. Signs were very easy to follow.

This trial was a lot more difficult to navigate than I has expected so it recommend downloading the map! Will do next time. Very nice single track, not technical. There are a lot of up and down sections so it was a good workout!

Great family hike! Plenty of shade and not too challenging but a great work out!

Loved it! Beautiful views fun flowy single track. Some small fun rocky sections, one semi-hard one (w/option to bypass). I’m a flat pedaler/more of a downhill guy, so some of the climbs were killing me (lung-wise) and a little technical. Did the full outer 9miles, finished after dark. Can’t wait to do it again!!

Really enjoyed this hike the views where absolutely stunning!
