You have to pay for parking and the trail is pretty busy. In some spots I had to wait 15 min for people to get through funnels in the trail or climb over certain rocks. BRING A LIGHT SOURCE.

So much snow and only made it just over half the way. Unfortunately we were not prepared for how much snow and how deep it was! Or we would have continued on if we had some snow shoes. Definitely going to hike again at some point.

Was very fun, VERY easy. I only gave it 3 because I probably wouldn’t go all the way there to do it again. Pretty damp, wear boots for the water puddles and such. Great little trip with friends. Bring a bright headlamp and gloves! Enjoy.

Unlike anything I’ve ever done... make sure if you do the lower trail you are prepared to do a lot of climbing!

parked at the Buck Creek trail head. NW Forest Pass required. Trailhead clearly marked however it leads to you Ranger Creek Airstrip and then there's no direction. Turn right and walk down the road until you see a sign that says trail for hiking and biking. Snow and ice still on trail. we used microspikes no problem. Trail has recently been cleared of downed trees. if you don't want to climb (where the sign says falls) just go over the bridge and you can get a great view. next time I would take two cars and leave one at each end. beautiful trail.

One of a kind! The road was closed but you can park and walk .8 of a mile to the trailhead. There is still snow on the trail. So waterproof hiking boots help a lot! We did the lower cave and it was very easy. We plan on returning this summer to explore the upper cave!

Very icy. Very very icy. We ran into hikers on there way down and they informed us it was icy all the way up. We kept moving forward but we came to a point where it was just constant ice, we weren’t getting much traction and we weren’t getting very far... so we sadly turned back. We’ll try again in a couple of weeks. It has great potential but the ice was out of control.

A really unique hike. I did it solo and quickly felt it would have been a better time with a few other people. Make sure you have at least two durable and dependable head lamps. Some rock scrambling is necessary. Hiked March 6th, and it was warmer in the cave than outside, at about 40*.

it was about a year ago that I went on this trail but it is super cool and unique, very beautiful. I am a Utah residing Washington native and this is probably my favorite hike of all time. I would, however, recommend bringing a sweatshirt, a headlight, and a handheld light (per person). Extra batteries wouldn't hurt, either. I love this trail, though!

Hiked in the spring with wild flowers blooming. Gorgeous and easy to navigate

The hike is worth it. The falls are amazing.

This was an amazing hike ! Had a little bit of everything you would want to see ... views of the river were so peaceful and the true reward was the falls

be sure to get a snow pass for 23 dollars which can be purchased at the local store before the trail otherwise it's a 100 dollar fine. slushy snow at the start you have to walk about three quarters of a mile to the cave entrance due to snow. cave drips from the ceiling all throughout snow is at about 3ft right now upon departing the upper cave entrance. kind of a tight squeeze here and there. hardest part of cave is a 6 ft shear faced wall you have to actually climb up. not really for the faint of heart be sure to have a fully charged flashlight or headlamp because it's a cave and its pitch black, there's an opening in the ceiling about 4 fifths of the way through the cave, thats when you know you've almost made it. to get back down the mountain follow the blue/green diamonds. enjoy be safe check for conditions and landslide information before heading out.

Did it in 3min snow. Love It

hiked it a little while back. Thought I'd make it to reflection lake from the entrance of the trail. The bridge was washed out so I had to turn back. Overall the trail was pretty nice.

A pleasant enough walk with some nice views, perfect if you only have an hour or so. If you have more time, definitely head out onto one of the longer hikes though.

This is a perfect trail to get out on with family as it is an easier hike if you don't do the rock scramble! We went in January and there was a light dusting of snow and the falls were still flowing and looked quite magical. Lots of downed trees but trail is well maintained and most have been cleared from the trail. There are several small bridges to cross as well, the view of falls is through the low brush but you can rock scramble closer for better views. Trail head parking was clear but in the past few weeks it had been icy so be prepared with your vehicles in Winter.

this hike was kind of flat in some area. The falls were gorgeous to clim to.

Couldn’t make it up to the trailhead without 4 wheel drive and there was quite a bit of snow. Sure it’s beautiful though if you can make it up!

The trail is in great shape, and it's not that steep. It is also accessible during the winter. The doggie and I thoroughly enjoyed the hike.

Easy hike down, and then straight back up for return trip. The trail can get crowded, but overall it's worth it as the falls are beautiful!

Would not recommend as a winter hike past the first 1/2 mile. Followed footsteps about 3/4 of the way until they stopped. The second half of the hike is very exposed and on a mountainside dropping down to the river.

Roads are closed. We tried,to get there in Dec Mt Rainier hwy 123...closed

Beautiful today on the trail. Only saw a few others. Great parking with bathroom. Trail in great shape and only a couple muddy places.

Easy hike among the giants.

Wet and dark. The rock formations are nothing that special. We did the lower cave first but probably could've skipped it.

Great day for the trail. there ares a couple missing signs but just stay right when the trail split at about the 3 mile mark. The falls where going strong. Only a couple of other people out on the trail.
