Really nice hike. It deserves the “moderate” tag because there are rocks and tree roots everywhere under foot, making it a little tricky especially when wet; but the trail is wide and leisurely for sure. I didn’t go on to Tom, Dick, and Harry because it was so foggy I could barely even see the lake, much less any views of mountains in the distance. I’ll be back on a clear day.

great hike to mirror lake but of you are going to go that far take the Tom dick and Harry trail all the way to the top and get views of five peaks at the same time( hood, Jefferson, Rainer, St Helen's, Adams) such an amazing view.

We parked one car at Fish Creek Campground (where we camped for the night) and drove the other car up to Indian Henry to start the trail that way. Construction was a bit loud for the first two miles of the trail but after that, the river pretty much drowned out the sound of the highway on the other side. As stated in other reviews the ups and downs are no joke. It was challenging for myself but my two girlfriends did great with the elevation gains. They veered off to the waterfalls and I kept going so I didn't lag behind. We took our time, the views were amazing and a few spots along the way to camp overnight in between. Did the complete 7.8 miles and would do it again. Weather was great. Streams and creeks running low so no wet shoes at all. A few sketchy spots with logs over the trail that definitely you can't go under so be careful. Only one spot of the trail that is poorly maintained and thats before the elevation gain to the turn off for Pup Creek Falls. First time backpacking in Oregon and worth it!

Easy hike, brief view of Mt Hood, nice areas to hang out by the water. Did this with our one year old and he loved walking around by the water.

My husband and I hiked this over Labor Day weekend, and while it was a bit busy, we loved it. Definitely want to come back soon!

Nice view but worth climbing up to the top.

Not a particularly challenging hike; however, I will say if you can get to the lake early perhaps around 9:00 AM at the latest and catch the fog hanging out around the trees, it is truly magical. Oh and if you want while you’re here, you should really take the Tom Dick and Harry Mountain trail for a little more challenging hike (although not too much!).

Great hike, good trail but very popular and congested. Go early or later in the afternoon when folks are heading back for dinner. Beautiful views of Mirror Lake with Mt. Hood in background. 3hr trek

Took an overnighter trip on Tues-Wed. Wonderful view and not too crazy of elevation climbs as we went counter-clockwise at the loop after starting at Shellrock. Easy enough distance to be out and back within 24 hours. We brought a hammock and spent a long time resting at Serene Lake. Wonderful spots all around for making camp.

Starting at Shellrock and doing the loop brought our mileage to 12.3.

Was a nice scenic trail along the river most the way, was rough at spots because of all the rocks but that's the fun in it, wouldn't be fun if it were easy. The waterfall was awesome, overall it was a great trail and would recommend it.

Easy trail. Just a few switchbacks with gradual gain. Two nice vistas of Mt. Hood and some flowers still hanging around. Plan to revisit for fall colors.

8/26 Road was still closed 10 miles from trailhead but we were able to take the Forest Road that lead to the top of South Fork Mountain and hiked down a steep trail little over a mile to the lake. Huckleberry Heaven!

If you do this from the campsite, which is where Google maps directed me to, it’s just over 8 miles, campsite to campsite. Pretty hike. Nice to hear the river. Not too many cars so I was rarely aware when I was near the road, which wasn’t often. Lots of ups and downs, old growth and new.

Great trail and fun but a little crowded. Lake is pretty cool - we went up to the summit; that was great.

Easy hike. Mirror Lake is beautiful!

Relatively easy hike to the lake, which offered a one-of-a-kind view w/ the reflection of the Mt on the water. If you're up for it, I'd highly recommend going up Tom Dick and Harry Mt. It's well worth the time, distance, and incline for the breathtaking view at the top. All-in-all, I spent about 4 hours on the trail. As others have said, get there early, parking is slim.

My favorite of all

Picturesque and easy.

The road was closed 10 miles away from the start of the trail 8/18/18

Super popular trail, seriously the foot traffic.
I'm glad I did it at least once but that will be the last time.
Not a good first starter trail if you're not use to hills.
It only flattens out once you're almost to the smaller, clear lake itself.
Well kept up with trash&the maintenance but like I said-heavy traffic.

Absolutely stunning. But pretty packed. Parking is tough so get an early start.

Headed up early. Nice quiet trail.

This is a great walk to do with young teens and people new to hiking. It’s not too long and there is elevation to get your heart rate up for anyone wanting a challenge. The view is spectacular and there are places to rest and have lunch. I cannot wait to bring more family members to enjoy this hike with.

This seems like a popular trail, but not overly crowded. There are some camp sites at the lake, and if you keep going to the top there are great views of the entire area.

If we had more time, we would have climbed Tom Dick and Harry, which is on same trail path. The loop trail itself is not quite 4 miles, but it is lovely. If comparing lake to lake, we preferred Veda Lake. However, access to Mirror Lake TH is right on highway. Get there early for parking and expect crowds.

love it! had a great time in the hot tub. we were very lucky that we didnt have to wait.

So the directions take you to Riverside Camp ground which is fine and we started there, but there is a sign just before it’s a small wood sign on a tree and there is a parking lot so if your directions say 1 mile left start looking for the sign. Was a great hike for newbies definitely going back and did not see a waterfall

Really nice. Lots of up on the way to the lake.

The worse one.
In man built wood tubs that feel slimy, water is only warm for so long before you need to leave dump&refill.
Some private rooms with a single log tub.
I mean it's not the greatest, crime is popular not only in the parking lot but within the trail&the tubs.
Nudist is also a strong possibility to view a lot of..

Austin (keep driving past bagby) it's all natural &has the rock built walls to locate prime spot.
More secluded.
