My brother & I hiked this trail and it was yet another GREAT and WORTHY hike for sure.
There are some pretty AWESOME views on the way to the ASTOUNDING looking waterfall and is also a very good hike because the journey back has different views and is a different cool trail because it's a loop hike.

P.S. There are some GNARLY potholes on the way to the parking spot but as long as your aware of how and where your driving even a compact car like mine is able to make it without damaging your vehicle.

amazing views! I'm so glad I went, and persevered until the top!

Beautiful hike and fairly easy. Ramona falls is gorgeous and a lot bigger that expected. Highly recommended.

Awesome hike with different terrain throughout. Went on an amazingly clear day and could see several peaks. Took us 5 hours and was well worth it. More traffic around 2pm than there was at 10am. Highly recommend if Mirror Lake is too crowded

Absolutely worth the climb and the sweat to get to the top. Seeing 5 peaks was a lucky experience!!

Honestly, it's neat if you're nearby already but I found it pretty underwhelming. Beautiful colors but the trail is very short and it's hard to get a good view of the lake. Maybe it was just too crowded for me, but I wouldn't do it again. Go to Tamolitch Blue Pool instead!

PS - it was also a big bummer you can't get in the lake. I understand it would stir up the mud and be a drag for others, but it's still a body of water you cant get in and thats a bummer.

Really nice view of Mt Hood over the lake but a large portion of the trail is closed. People have created a bit of another route off trail but it's not very clear.

Very picturesque and mild hike. The elevation climb was gradual that it felt very easy. It was an overcast day so we kept a good pace. The river crossing was easy since the water was low. The falls were smaller than I imagined but still quite beautiful.

Beautiful views of Mount Hood! Very easy hike.

so worth it

Fun hike this summer. The fall's were worth it. Just remember to get your trail use permit. I didn't know the US Forest Service was requiring them and got a $5 warning ticket!

good hike and views that are worth the climb.

view is definitely worth it!

This hike is worth is every time (no matter the weather). It's a breathtaking view. I would highly suggest to loop around Mirror Lake then going up to Tom, Dick and Harry.

If you want a view of Mount Hood, definitely check the weather. I've been here four times and twice it was cloudy, but still worth the hike and the view.

**Get there before 8 if you want to park right at the trailhead. Also, you will need a NW Forest Pass (if you don't have the pass you will need to buy a $5 day pass, which you can't do at the trailhead so plan ahead). You will also need to park at the Mirror Lake Trailhead**

Simply breathtaking at the top. The leaves are just starting to change, and it was pure loveliness all of the way up. Highly recommend.

A long but very easy doable hike. I definitely suggest completing the loop, because the way back is a lot prettier and more exciting IMO. Use caution when crossing the river, there was a decent log for crossing, but water was flowing too hard to walk through. Use discretion about bringing your dog(s)! With no bridge they either have to walk through the river or cross a log, which the water was too fierce for the poor Shepherd I saw be forced across by his owner, and was very scared. The stream is lower and less fierce when it hasn’t been raining as well as earlier in the AM. A beautiful waterfall and peaceful place to sit and enjoy. Definitely a great hike for a cloudy day when Mt Hood isn’t visible or anyway!

Moderate hike for sure. It is uphill most of the way except for the area around Mirror Lake and part of the hike after the large hairpin turn on the mountain. There are some parts that get a little rocky, but still very manageable & not treacherous. Views are simply amazing. Parking is right on route 26, and there are only about 20-25 spots so get there early or expect to wait for a spot. I did this hike in 3.5 hours round trip with about 45 min in breaks along the way.

The trail was great and beautiful, but I should have heeded the warning about the bad road. My '06 Dodge Charger, low to the ground, hit a huge pot hole that cracked my coolant tank and the return trip to Portland was less than fun with overheating and pulling over until Fred Meyer in Gresham. Low cars, be careful!

Beautiful hike! Cloudy in the morning, but cleared up for some views! Would recommend going in the summer.

I would rate this hike as easy, since the ascent can be done very fast. The views, nature, and different landscapes are truly special and diverse. I would recommend this trail to anyone who's looking to have a hike that is fewer than three hours, but sets the stage for what Pacific Northwest hikes can be. The parking is interesting, since it is literally right off of the freeway. Make sure to buy passes for the National Forest System online or at the Ranger's station in ZigZag before parking, since there is no place to purchase tickets here. Finally, there are a tremendous array of better hikes in the area, but this is good for those looking for something easier.

Great Trail, views on top, fun and diverse forrest hiking below.
however about a mile of it (below the pct intersection) is covered with fallen trees, rendering it almost impassable. I only used it to descend, but oncoming hikers i met confirmed that it's impossible to get past them when going up. in case you want to do this trail, do it descending only and bring a certain degree of fitness - lots of pulling yourself up, stepping across and balancing on top of fallen trunks is required for that bit.
Try to access the top bits of the trial via zigzag canyon / pct or via zig zag mountain instead of hiking up the trail until the trees are cleared.

Overall, enjoyful tho. 4/5 bc i ripped my favorite hiking pants while ducking under the fallen trees.

Absolutely beautiful hike to a stunning, cascading waterfall. probably best to AVOID WHEN RAINING you have to cross a river and The logs get very slippery....slipped and sprained my ankle...but,still worth it! Lol

I’ve done this hike a few times. The falls are beautiful and peaceful, perhaps the most spectacular on the mountain. Take your time enjoy a snack at the falls and snap a few photos on the bridge. Make the loop to see the rocky cliffs and walk along the stream. The only tricky part is crossing the Sandy River, but there are usually big logs and a couple of options for crossing.

Half the trail is closed right now (September 2018). Also a lot of selfie people out there :(
I offered to take pictures for them though!
Easy beautiful hike for the crew I was with though - husband, 4-year-old, 2-month old.

I’d love to come back and do this hike on a clear day :) couldn’t see any views of Hood, but I’m sure it would’ve been stunning... a pretty easy hike no high elevation gain or steep inclines. It was nice

Mt Hood shrouded in clouds. Probably more impressive on a day with better views. Not too crowded for a Saturday. A portion of the trail is temporarily closed for repairs, but there is a fairly well worn alternative.

This was incredible. Got there really early (about 6:30am) on Saturday. Literally no one else there for whole hike. The falls are beautiful and the rocks near Ramona creek are stunning.

It was easier than I expected, but I absolutely loved the hike! I'd love to come back and do it again. The view of Mt. Hood was breathtaking.
