Gorgeous lake, short trail. It’s a nice walk from here to Timothy Lake.

great hike. its 4 miles round trip though not 3.3 fyi! not hard though!

Stunning hike, with breathtaking views. It started out sunny but then I got to watch a storm roll in, which was beautiful. I did it back in 2015, very sad to hear it is closed.

what is the exact name of the trail to get down to cannon beach?

Spectacular views. Great Family hike.

Great Trail and definitely worth making it to the end! Much easier coming back than going in but a lovely day hike with family.

Pretty. Beach was very crowded so we took some trails off the side of the parking lot. Rugged but our 8 year old could manage. Even better views from up there!

Got to the trailhead Saturday afternoon around 2PM and started hiking to McNeil point to spend the night as our goal. We soon encountered the worst swarming of »BITING« flies I have ever experienced in my life. They were unrelenting and unphased by bug repellent. The entirety of the Top Spur trail was completely plagued by the pests. It wasn’t until we got above tree line on the McNeil Point trail did we find any respite. If not, we would’ve definitely bailed. The flies didn’t seem as bad coming back down the trail which could’ve been due to our faster pace because they still did swarm if we stopped or slowed down at all.

Oh! And to top it all off when we got back to the trailhead we discovered our car had been broken into and everything, even just stupid stuff had been ripped off— yay...

Don’t think I’ll be coming back to do this trail again anytime soon.

would have been a 5 but the back side is not nearly as well kept as the front. great walk, easy to do, beautiful scenery both during the hike and on the drive, very enjoyable! there is a day use fee to access the park. no bathrooms or trash once you are on the loop.

Hiked this waterfall today it was one of the hottest days of the summer so far it was a nice waterfall with a nice spray some nice cool spots along the trail. I would do this one again.

Great hike. Steady incline and switchbacks. The lake is small but great views. The parking lot at the TH is small and does charge. But there is not a fee station there so bring a pass with you. Go early. Coming down around 10am there were steady hikers coming up the trail.

Great hike. The river crossing was relatively easy. Beautiful Hood view at that spot. If you go left after the river to make it a loop, it's definitely longer. So if you want a (slightly) shorter option, stay right. The falls are really cool - very pretty.

The bugs were hard to get over. It was difficult to enjoy the hike while getting eaten alive.

Nice stroll around the lake. Great views of Hood. Trail is easy and crowded with lake goers.

the first half of the trail is beautiful and we'll maintained. I saw no one after the first five miles or so. however the second half of the loop clearly has not been maintained in the last 10 years or so. you will be pushing through dense brush for a few miles. both of my water bottles were pulled from my pack at different times by branches. there are also very few places to camp after the 9 mile Mark. however there are ample opportunities to refill your water bottles. I likely wouldnt do the full trail as described on this trail.

Large parking lot that was pretty full by 12 pm. Not that much scenery on the trail but the waterfall made up for it.

This trail has so many rocks. The rocks not sturdy. It’s actually a 10 miles hike. Not 7...... so many rocks! Wear sturdy shoes! It’s a long hike. BUT.... the waterfall is amazing! Beautiful!

A portion of the trail was closed due to construction. In June 2018. We followed others around the closed part and enjoyed the views. There were a lot of people fishing and swimming who appeared to be have a blast. Be sure to check availability for camping before you go. It was completely filled that week.

We made it he hike fairly easily. The falls are worth every step. Once there you must go behind your he fall and experience this with a nice lunch.

Awesome views, on the easy side of moderate. Crossing the creek is somewhat difficult, but there are many logs to cross on.

The roughest part about this trail is the bumpy road getting to it. The trail is wide and easy to traverse. The little meadows are nice, with lots of flowers and bugs(depending on the season). The view is stunning, arguably better than Flag Point. You can get to Fret Creek and even Flag Point if you take the Divide trail this trail connects to. Definitely check this out sometime.

excellent veiws from the top! only people on the trail. It did rain before we got there, so there were a few mosquitoes!

Fun little hike. Pretty. Short, but fairly steep so I felt like I got some exercise, too.

the bridge is washed out and I wouldn't recommend taking dogs. unless they can walk across trees to cross the water.

Still closed above the bridge.
