Wife and I hiked this one last Sunday and we will return. The sign at the trailhead says the trail is strenuous, but it is moderate at most so don't be deterred. I'm 69 and not in the greatest shape and I made it just fine. Lots of flow due to the recent rain and temps in the 60's so it was a great day to be on this trail.

Such a great hike during the off season. Lots of wonderful wildlife sounds and fresh air. You’ll love it! Not too strenuous. I’ve climbed much more difficult...It’s a great day hike. Enjoy!

very nice climb, though view is boring.

Great trail! The view was amazing and it was a nice place to sit and eat lunch. Make sure you have a map or GPS and be prepared to walk through some water!

One of my favorite hikes of all time, hands down!

Great views. Relatively easy trail.

great trail but make sure you are in decent shape. I made it up the mountain but needed a nap and some snacks. beautiful but challenging

great trail, awesome views

Great hike with great views. One of the best hikes I have done on the east coast. Not sure what makes it “hard” as it was pretty level. The hardest part was dodging the pony droppings.

This was a fun hike. Short, but well worth the time. The falls just keep going. Can be very slippery on the leaves if not careful. Beautiful place to be at 6 am. and 26F. AllTrails needs to add photography to the list in Activity.

The views were breathtaking! Short, somewhat muddy walk up to the summit. Once there, it’s the most incredible 360 views of the smoky mountains! It’s right off the interstate, and the ride up the mountain was just as fun and gorgeous.

I went on an overnight trip here a few days ago. Definitely a challenge with a 40 pond pack on due to my camping gear. I lost five pounds of fluids due to sweating. I ran out of water halfway up, and was glad I brought a survival straw. pack more water than u think you will need. Trekking poles, wool socks, and sweaters are your friend. The higher portion of the hike is very much colder than the bottom. The fir Forrest at the top is very quiet and peaceful. a neat cave and some beautiful views await. I used this hike as a training aid for Kilimanjaro trek next year and although an eagle scout, managed to learn a few things on this hike. pole pole indeed on this as well.

My 5, 8, and 10 year old enjoyed the hike. Super easy and 360 degree views!

good short hike with a nice waterfall. good for toddlers and dogs.

Well maintained trail and beautiful falls!

Hiked this trail on Wednesday. The weather wasn’t the best, visibility was very poor from the summit and I just loved it! The sound of my boots on the trail, the echo of birds calling, the rain beating against my pack, and a dog barking in the distance set the scene for my peaceful trek to the summit via the AT. It was very muddy and I stumbled a time or two and actually fell once due to the slippery trail. My trekking poles were a tremendous help on this day.

Magic

Breath taking views from the top! Slippery when wet, gets real muddy in the rain. Wear appropriate shoes.

Beautiful! Hiked to all three falls Nov 10, 2018. Well maintained trail and gorgeous falls.

Fun, pretty hike. Not hard, I did it 6 months pregnant!

beautiful hike and impressive waterfall

This hike is much longer than stated. we clocked almost 14 miles. This is difficult and very strenuous! The view is worth it, but make sure you begin early enough and bring snacks!

Pretty hike that was quick!

Words can’t describe it!

If you don’t want to spend all day hiking this trail...you can drive to the summit and enjoy the same views. The hike wasn’t worth it after finding this little tid bit out. Also...almost got mauled by a bear.

Gorgeous trail and views

Hiked this trail November 1st just before cold front came through. 3 things about this trail-rocky , rooty and windy, well marked and maintained.. Need good hiking shoes at a minimum, poles optional, and bring layered clothing with wind breaker , gloves and hat a must as it gets nippy at top . Can be a challenge if not in at least average shape. Plan on 5-8 hours round trip. Well worth doing and you get the pleasure of knocking off the highest peak east of the mighty Mississippi.

Question: the 10 miles it says it is, is this total? or each way?
