I’m not super in shape and it wasn’t too bad! Amazing views. I was definitely sore and I think we did a little short cut but it was nice! I will go again.

This trails are awesome when it's dry ,if is muddy ,not too fun..but I'm still doing it ...ride it's a ride..I will recommend this trail on summer time..

My pup and I love this trail! We usually go on weekday mornings and with the weather lately, it’s been lightly trafficked. Nice and steady trail. Beware of poison oak. There’s tons out there. Can get a little slippery and muddy after rainfall so watch your step. Also some pretty deep cracks in the pathway here and there. Mainly cyclists on the path. I haven’t seen many people on foot, and we haven’t run into other pups lately.

Nice hike with some lovely views. This is a popular spot for mountain bikers though, so expect a fair bit of bike traffic, especially on the weekends. The Chaparral section is a bit steep and would be a bit treacherous when wet. It would be challenging for small kids, but isn’t too long of a stretch.

One of the best hikes within a city I've done. I live by the trailhead, and it's great to take with a dog. It's relatively quiet and you won't find a lot of people on the trail.

This trail is okay. Good for dog walkers and mountain bikes. It is crowded, lots of freeway noise.

What a chill and beautiful walk through a tiny but often ignored park in the Oakland Hills. I absolutely loved how close this location was to the highway and how parking was abundant in the area as well! I would say this is a very chill walk and if you made it a run it'd be more challenging. I will definitely be coming back!

Lots of hills, cows and views! Mostly wide roads except for the “secret feeling” portion through the woods.

Great variety of terrain and views. Exciting mud in some places- bring appropriate shoes in wet season. May have to detour around cows+calves on the trail.

Very easy hike, good place to relax with your family and friends on the weekend.

Amazing in the winter with rain and fog. I expected it to be a bit tougher but maybe with the heat of spring or summer it earns that hard rating. I’d highly recommend doing it on an overcast day like today though.

Friendly introduction to single track. It drains fairly well, so it is a nice alternative when it is wet.

wow ! What a work out! it is quite steep but a great workout. good views when you get up there.

I do this trip often. Its a good wide trail, good incline and lots of cows to see!

Great trail. Easy to hike. Great vistas

Couldn’t find trail head, directions led me to cul de sac of driveways.

Very good trail to hike with kids. Both 4yr and 12yr were super impressed with the path. Good mix of creek view from the trail, valley view from the hills and view on beautiful small pond full of turtles!

I didn't even realize this trail was here, right behind Ralston Middle School. A great escape into a quiet woodsy preserve. Very close to residential areas, but it's very serene. Be warned, for those who want to try to follow the loop marked out in the AllTrails app, there are a bazillion forks in the road - some with three or four options - and they're not well marked. A lot of the signs seem erased or run down. I ended up doing a crazy figure 8 instead of the loop in the app, and while it didn't really matter, it added some extra mileage. I think we did about 4.5 miles total.

A lot of the trail is shaded, but still bring sunscreen for the wide open stretches. When the fog burns off, it can get brutal. Also be ready to scoot over for mountain bikers who come by every thirty seconds, and keep an eye out for the plentiful poison oak. I think the only animals I saw were tiny lizards and a cute bunny, but there are signs for mountain lions. A lot of dogs are off-leash too.

There are some steep inclines, but they're marked on the trail map plaques. Bring good shoes because there's a lot of loose dirt and gravel. I probably would only come back here out of convenience, as there are a LOT of cyclists. However, everyone we crossed paths with was friendly and kind. One gentleman helped point us in the right direction back.

Easy and nice trail. Good for a group with little kids. There is an unpleasant odor for some part of the trail.

Very enjoyable! Took my 68+ uncles and aunt here and they completed it with ease. We actually did the whole loop it was about 4 miles total. Awesome photo op at the peak of the hill.

Cows are the best part of this hike, and the view of the city.

Too many speedy, rude and cheap mountain bikers! Not a good hike for me.

Good views and mix of shaded/sunny areas but a lot of bikes so make sure to be on alert. Also saw a lot of deers close to the trail.

Good trail the last part is a bit steep buts it’s worth the effort u could see the whole of city from the height
