Cool trail easy to navigate and has signs all over that teach about the flora and geology. Be careful when walking on the rocks at the top as they might be slippery

Great trail with a great view at the top! Beware this trail is much longer if the gate at the bottom of the paved road is closed. It turned into a 4.1mi round trip with over 1300ft of elevation. No issues on the dirt road with a small sedan, but it does take nearly 25min of driving on the dirt road to get to the trail.

Beautiful!

Great trail, but those stairs are killer on the legs! Be prepared for a steep climb or ascent depending on which way you go, I find both equally challenging.

Absolutely gorgeous waterfall!

Great views at the summit
Overnight camping you can experience sunset And sunrises

Easy walking trail with beautiful falls

This should be on your top 10 list!

Great for people with a desire for a big pay. You will earn the view toward the top but it’s worth it. Can be muddy and slippery so wear proper shoes and take it slow.

Every time we go to this trail, it’s a new experience and always wonderful. Summer time, it’s beautiful but today absolutely blew my mind. My husky, my 5 year old son, my fiancée and I all highly suggest this trail in any season. It’s a little muddy sometimes but you don’t go hiking when you wanna stay clean!

Short and sweet. Great for kids, grandparents, and the whole family! Heavy traffic every time I've gone, but worth it as a family trip.

Some snow and mud--beautiful.

Beautiful place camped overnight got a snow flurry or two. November 11 when we were there

Pretty easy hike. Slippery when wet and it was extremely windy and foggy, so my view was nothing. I’m sure it’s a five star view, but I didn’t get to witness it.

Great trail! The view was amazing and it was a nice place to sit and eat lunch. Make sure you have a map or GPS and be prepared to walk through some water!

This was a quick trail. Definitely easy to moderate. Some areas may be slippery when wet. Also, we took two wrong turns. There were no trail markers.

Great views. Relatively easy trail.

My husband found this place on TripAdvisor, and we decided to make the trek. The road is very bumpy but we made it fine in our mid sized front wheel drive SUV. Beautiful views! We arrived at about 9:30am and had the whole place to ourselves. It was great!

An amazing trail but I’d definitely rate this on the “harder side of moderate” - the view at the end is ABSOLUTELY worth it.

Moderate trail with views along the way. I was able to bring my girlfriend (who isnt much of a outdoorsman or hiker either). The first 2/3 of the trail is an easy climb but the last leg is where your calves and glutes really have to kick in. One at the top there are a couple lookouts with amazing views. Make sure to go to the top where you’ll get a 360 degree view.

I hike this trail at least once or twice a month since it’s so close to my house. Other than the stairs to get to the waterfall it’s fairly easy.

Nice trail to the top also can go to the left of the parking lot to take the trail towards Shortoff mtn. Go as far as you want and turn around

decent hike up. keep making lefts. at one point there's a sign for parking or Trail and if you go right you'll be going down the mountain around another side. it does have an awesome panoramic view at the top which is well worth the hike.

First trail after knee surgery and a heart attack. I made it up to the Chimney Point.

Great view, quick hike, will get rather crowded on the weekends. Trail is pretty moderate, but gets a little steep towards the top but nothing too challenging.

Not as great as we were expecting. The trail is more of a short walk than a true hike. Very crowded and heavily trafficked.

Decided to go to Linville Gorge for our first ever hiking/camping trip and we were not disappointed! Ended up hiking Hawksbill twice in one evening, the second time to set up camp on top to make sure we caught the spectacular sunrise in the morning. Definitely worth the second trip and 30 degree night!

Great trail. Not too difficult with one of the best views in all of NC. Multiple vantage points at the top.

Well worth the drive. But the gravel road is very bumpy and barely wide enough for two cars. Without an SUV, that road takes a lot longer to drive. It took us an hour to drive it. But it was a beautiful hike with great views.

Gorgeous views of the river and waterfall. The perfect hike for a beginner that wants a challenge. We were pressed for time so we only hiked to the waterfall viewing platform and came back, but we crossed a cool bridge, a lot of rocky terrain, and the views of the creek alongside the trail were beautiful! Plus, we visited in early November so the fall foliage was picture-perfect!
