Amazing views along the way! Waterfall is breath taking well worth the hike. The incline at the end is the hardest part.

Lots of wildlife here - we saw a grizzly and others we ran into said they saw a Moose the same day. Had lunch at the lake.. It was spectacular!

Beautiful hike, we went beginning of April so there was still a lot of snow and trails were icy in spots. I can’t imagine how beautiful it is in the summer!

Hiked on August 2, 2017. It was foggy and misty but with regular breaks of sunlight. This is one of the best hikes I have ever done. Magical views of Glacier National Park; water, multi-colored rocks, sunlight, greenery and wildflowers everywhere. The top down hike was still challenging enough and the park shuttle back to the parking lot was much appreciated!

Pretty great hike! My 9 year old daughter hiked this trail with me. I was surprised considering the grade and 7.1 mile out and back! This is a beautiful hike with a pretty little lake at the top! Bring bear spray. Wear layers and have a water pack if you’re going in the warm weather and of course, snacks. You’ll want to hang out at the top for a while and enjoy the view! Wild flowers galore. Very pretty hike!

Hike was nice, just wish the glacier would have made an appearance for us.

Totally love this hike. By far my favorite..

excellent view at the turn around loint.

Pretty hike up to Lava Lake. The route is a nice, casual incline throughout the entirety.

One of the first hikes we did in the NW and we were hooked after that. Hiking through old cedar, often next to a raging river, only to be rewarded with a beautiful crystal clear lake surrounded by mountains.

Even though this one is rated easy, there were some spots that were tough for me. I will definitely try this one again being more physically fit, but it was worth every bit! Beautiful scenery and lake was breathtaking at the end!

Enjoyed hiking this trail with family. Pretty easy hike. There is part of the hike where the hill is steep for a little bit, but not terrible! Gorgeous nature views, and the lake is breathtaking!

So, it was not too smooth in March, but it was a great view regardless and an intense workout.

It is eight miles! Not 7.5 lol. It was just absolutely breathe taking. We went in October so we didn't have as many access to the lake as we wanted.

Great hike! The water is very cold, so don’t plan on swimming! Worth the trek!

Beautiful hike through the old growth cedars along the creek, ending at a glacial lake with great waterfalls and thick plant life everywhere!

a long yet if your up for the 14 mile hike and XC skiing well worth it hike! amazing views from the start to finish! We thought we would be the only people up there, but there was about 6 other people behind us. make sure to start early, it took us about 12 hours, because of the road being closed 5 miles before the trail!!!

BEAUTIFUL

Not a super hard hike and the view is amazing! Would recommend maybe having yaktrax or something for the winter as it was a bit slippery. One thing to note is the road is closed to get to the trailhead in the winter so you have to walk an additional mile or so to get there.

The way up was so beautiful this summer. Amazing wild flowers. The trail got a bit rocky up top, so I think I’ll have to get some ankle support boots for next time!

I have hiked this trail a few times. There are some steep places, but no dangerous passages. The view is outstanding as it progressively increases in altitude. The headwaters area is fantastic, with many plants not common in our area.

Beautiful hike! We hiked this trail after hiking to Grinnell Glacier. This trail is easy and beautiful all at once. It passes through dense forest. Beautiful lake with a beautiful beachy area. Great views from the lake. Bring water and a snack, carry bear spray. Make noise on the trail.

Amazing trail, we hiked it a total of three times. Bring plenty of water, sandwich and snacks. Make sure to pack a light rain jacket or a wind breaker, it gets much colder up near the top than it is on the bottom. We went through all weather on the way up. From hot to cold. Wear sunblock and carry bear spray, we saw grizzly and the rams were aggressive too, even though we gave them lots of space and never approached them. Try to stick with other people. Amazing views the entire time. It is a challenging hike.
