When we went around 4pm weather was 74 F. We didn’t go to the very top because we only had an hour and hiking in sand is hard, but even walking into the dunes for like 30 min is worth it. We got some really great pictures and it is really mind blowing the dunes but also the surrounding mountains and landscapes. Out of this world

HikingGreat!

The weather was cool in the morning when we started and only started to get warm as we finished and returned to the car. The trail is well marked. Be sure to look for the kairns. The trail was easy until we started the climb. The climb to the saddle was good. The only challenge were parts of the climb to the peak. There were some steep spots and places needing extra care. The biggest challenge for me was coming down from the peak. It required special care to look and place my feet. Overall it was great. The views were outstanding. It was disappointing to see so much fire damage.

Outstanding experience. It was so much fun going into the rock formation looking like it is a dead end only to find the path showing a way through. The rings were well placed for me (5 ft 10 in tall). It was an effort to lift myself and it took some thinking and planning to make sure my dominant leg was at the right place at the right time. Recommend going up the rings trail. I will avoid going down the trail.

This was a cool trial with good views of Mojave, but not my favorite in the area. Almost all of the Joshua trees on the way in were burned last Summer and it was pretty sad to see. The trail was decently marked/ maintained some points got us a little mixed up but we always made it back on track. If you have extra time this trail is worth it, but I wouldn't go out of my way to do it again

This loop was quick but fun, I recommend taking it clockwise so you begin at the left entrance. This allows you to go up the rings instead of down. Going up is much more fun and a bit less difficult. The loops can be a bit difficult for kids and I definitely don't think you can get a dog up or down, so thats something to consider before you begin. Our car had a difficult time getting to the trailhead from Old Government Road/Black Canyon Road. If your car is not good at off-roading, I absolutely recommend entering from the South.

Didn’t download the map so didn’t AllTrails it until near the end when we got service. 6.1 on Garmin back to the campground where we started, via the nature trail as we did the last half mile as part of the the rings loop the night before. Lots of somewhat boring two track on the backside. Generally well marked with few areas where markers are out of sight. Lovely cactus garden as you near mile 5 going counterclockwise. Some cows, one bull and lots of cow patties. Rings at the near end going counterclockwise- tough for dogs (and cactus spines also a hazard). Mostly sandy, some rocky bits and the rings. Probably won’t do it again.

Hot in the sun. Banshee canyon/rings part quite short but fun. Too steep for dogs. Nice short desert hike

Amazing hike!! one of my favorites .. other then the cattle poop everywhere and the hike being too short for my taste. The beautiful white rocks and rings are awesome, the trials are marked, not a lot of traffic which is always nice.

Challenging terrain but worth the views. Be prepared to crawl a bit to reach the top. Recommend taking off shoes at some point. Felt like longer than 3 miles - tough to walk in the sand the whole way.

Rough road to get there, but it was accessible to most regular vehicles for work. Just drive slowly with cautions of small lava rock in some parts of the road. Definitely worth visiting. Stunning light beams from 10:30 am to 2:30pm+.

HikingGreat!No shade

Beautiful area, best seen in winter/soring. Saw some Pika, and cows, plus tons of cow poop, one of the quirks of this ine. You never actually hit a peak. Lots of Cholla on end section of the trail. Rings at end of trail, were cool, in the slot canyon, but only for if your fit for them, otherwise just head around the perimeter to end your hike. Trail seems to drop off 10 foot at one point in the wash, if you get there, you missed the cut off, go back. Very windy at night, if your thinking of tenting at Hole in the Wall , not recommended. Beautiful place to see, and explore, along with being very empty.
